Kirika felt her heart racing in her chest. She was glad, suddenly, for all the running around her father's office she had been doing, because it meant that she had the stamina to duck between alleyways and attempt to lose the madwoman on her tail. She was pretty sure the woman hadn't caught up enough to see her duck around the edge of a wall, which was also good, because she needed a moment to catch her breath. She put a hand to her chest, and felt a cold chill as she did, remembering fingers sinking into it, stopped only by her delivering a swift knee to the woman's gut.
She wanted to believe that she had hallucinated that part. That the feeling of a hand sinking into her chest had all been in her head, a result of lack of sleep or some other silliness. But no, it had been real. The woman still on her heels was proof enough of that."Come on out, girlie!" Amazonite called, singsong. "We weren't done having fun, and I don't appreciate how uncooperative you've been!"
Originally, Amazonite had intended simply to kill the civilian she had stumbled across oh so conveniently; another starseed claimed for the Negaverse, and another mysterious death on the streets of Destiny City. Now, though, now she was angry. The civilian had actively fought back--had actually landed a solid hit that had left Amazonite wheezing for breath for a few moments while the girl ran away. And no, no, that simply wouldn't do. That kind of defiance had to be punished.
Amazonite knew how to punish it. Chaos itched in her heart--she would crack the girl's starseed open, make a youma, and keep it around. Yes, that would do. That would do nicely.

When Ryan heard Amazonite calling out to some poor civillian she was trying to harass, he ducked down a quiet alleyway, hissing quietly to himself, "Monoceros power, Make-Up!" The power rushed over him, and he ran out, screaming like a lunatic and charging right towards Amazonite. "Quill Flash!" he hollered as he sprinted closer, having ensured that he wouldn't hit the civ on accident. Noir Songbird Sailor Scout Attack: Quill Flash A burst of porcupine quills flies from Sailor Monoceros's hand, which can cause shallow scratches and/or minor puncture wounds. Any attempt to remove the quills before they vanish will cause sharp, pinpointed pain in the area; however, they don't sink in much deeper than skin-level. A user can choose to have this attack cause permanent damage or the injury will fade when the magic expires. This attack will last 20 seconds and can be used three times per battle.

Julienne had never been one to rush away from a fight, though she did often try to wait and figure out the odds. It wouldn’t do to get in over her head, after all. When she felt the light of a senshi flicker into existence, she began running a little more quickly towards the feeling of the chaos aura, and when she felt the strange, sweet feeling of an unawakened starseed...but…
Was it the feeling of an unawakened starseed? It felt…
Odd.
Still, she darted in, swiftly running between the legs of the negaverse officer and hissing, swiping her claws at the woman’s ankles and moving to the civilian. “Come. Run.” The Siberian Cat hissed, her little pink chefs hat teetering on the edge of falling off.
Yes, the feeling was coming from this young woman but...how strange. She hadn’t felt anything quite like this before. But...she was a senshi, that was for sure. She could feel that.

Amazonite was not proud of herself. She hadn't entirely been paying attention to her surroundings, and it meant that she was surprised to be jumped on--not just by that Senshi, the one she'd seen fighting some Lieutenant, but also by, of all things, a cat. The impact of quills against her shoulder made her yelp, and as she was whirling on the Senshi, she felt the scrape of sharp little claws against her ankle--nasty enough that they even pricked through her boots.
"Are you Order morons moving in packs, now?" She asked, eyes narrowed. She glanced over at where she could hear the civilian booking it, and sighed. She'd catch up to her. Just a small pest to deal with now.No one had to tell Kirika to run twice. It didn't matter that it was apparently coming froma cat (?!???), it was solid advice, and whatever weird magical girl shenanigans were going on--called attacks and all--Kirika definitely did not have the ability to wade into it. She inhaled sharply, and then ran, trying not to think too hard about how she was following advice from a fluffy kitty in a pink chef's hat.
"Where are we running to?" She asked, not that the answer would make much of a difference for her.

Monoceros barked a laugh. "How else are we gonna take you assholes down?" he taunted, stepping around in a dance-like manner to give the cat time to run down after the civ. If the cat was chasing her, there was likely a reason—an awakening reason. "Only takes two to tango, though," he jabbed, sweeping his foot against the ankle the cat had already harmed.

Julienne waited until the feelings were almost just out of range and they were hidden down a small alleyway. She was panting and sat down for a moment, holding up a paw to the civilian. “You...are you okay? We should get back there and help him, but I had...havea to make sure that you can take care of yourself...I can sense power in you...it…”
It was still so faint. But it was there, screaming to be awakened. She could do that. Awakening senshi was easy...just.
This seemed so strange.
Carefully though, Julienne honed in on the feeling and executed a rather wonderful backflip, if she said so herself, a henshin pen forming as it always did. “You have the power to help, if you want it. This is a tool to help you access it...you don’t have to, but she is stronger than he is, and he might not make it through this fight unscathed without backup. You have the power to become Sailor Izanami, drawing from the power of cremation. All you have to do is take this, and say the words, Izanami Power, Make up!”
She picked the henshin pen up in her mouth and looked up at the girl, trying to make her eyes as large as possible.
The cute thing worked...most of the time.

Kirika swallowed, tensely. She almost couldn't believe this was happening--but everything was going so quickly, and it wasn't like she had a ton of time to think. When the cat paused, so did she, leaning against the wall behind her and taking a moment to catch her breath. It felt like everything had rather rapidly turned upside down from the moment that woman's hand had sunk into her chest, and now it was just sort of...reorienting itself.
So she looked down at the cat, and gasped quietly when she did a little flip and a strange-looking pen appeared.
She had the power. To become something different. Stronger. To help someone being menaced by a much stronger enemy.
Kirika nodded, sharply.
"I'll do it," she said, as if there was any other choice.
She took the pen and held it up.
"Izanami Power, Make Up!"
In a whirl of smoke and ash, she transformed.

Without hesitation, she charged back towards the fight. Now that she was Izanami, instead of just Kirika, she could feel the two they'd left behind, like a point of light and shadow in her mind, and it was easy to tell who needed her help, because one--the woman--felt much stronger than the other.
She slid to a halt, and as much as it felt like a magical girl faux pas not to dramatically announce herself, she didn't want to hesitate and give the woman time to do more damage.
So instead, she reached for the fire she felt inside her, and held a hand up in front of her face.
"CREMATION BLAZE!" She shouted, and she swept her hand out towards the woman in black, watching the blue fire that had coalesced around her hand leap froward and consume her."It is the only hope you have," Amazonite mocked, grinning fiercely. She moved forward to slash at him, gritting her teeth and skipping out of the way as he aimed for her damaged ankle. "And hey! That wasn't very nice of you, was it? Targeting my injury like that." She tutted, shaking her head like she was deeply disappointed in his choice to fight dirty.
"Honestly, you all act like you're such shiny good guys, but you go and pull things like that...." She shook her head. "I'm so glad I got away from that self-righteous nonsense." She prowled forward, knives drawn, ready and eager to strike--and while she could hear footsteps approaching, she paid them little mind. The bright, new Senshi aura she could feel would be dealt with later. One insect at a time, savor the one she had to play with right now.
She shouldn't have waited. She shouldn't have paused. She should have paid attention.
She realized that as soon as she aw blue fire at the edge of her vision, and turned to see the new Senshi, slinging magic at her.
Magic that burned.
Amazonite screamed, and she dropped to her knees, weapons clattering from her fingers to the ground. It felt like her entire body was on fire, and while the pain was only so much--it reminded her of accidentally brushing against the edge of an oven or a hot pan--it was spread to every inch of her. She gasped for breath amid shuddering cries, and she did her best to ********," she gasped, and then she pictured her office in Negaspace, and teleported. There was no way she was sticking around to find out how long this would last, or if the Senshi had another shot up her sleeve. She could lick her wounds in private.Sailor Scout Attack: Cremation Blaze Izanami holds a hand up in front of her face and speaks the name of the track, and blue fire ignites around her hand. She then gestures at one target, and the target appears to be engulfed in blue flames. The target will feel as if they are being cremated from the inside out, with a sensation of pain akin to first degree burns over the entire body. The fires last for 25 seconds, but at player discretion, lessened pain can linger after the end of the attack, and the target can be left with minor burns. Izanami can use this magic three times per battle.

Monoceros raised an arm, hissing as her blade slashed open a wound, stepping back. He had risen his other arm, in preparation to fire off another round of Quill Flash, but then—the new Senshi rose up and sent Amazonite packing with her tail between her legs. Honestly, her comments about "shiny good guys" didn't even faze him. It was impossible to be perfect, and if he had to use "dirty" tricks to bring down a murderer, he would. It wasn't like he had a legal procedure he needed to follow that would get ******** if he did things wrong, after all. He grinned fiercely. "Hah. Good one, newbie," he called, cradling his injured arm to his chest and holding the wound closed with his other hand. "I'm Monoceros. Senshi of Porcupines. Also injured. Not sure if I'll need stitches or not. Hopefully not, it doesn't look that bad but it sure stings like a b***h."

Oh, good.
Julienne felt a surge of pride at just how well the new senshi seemed to take to her powers, and with a quick sprint, she made her way over to the two senshi standing there, blessedly alone with no nasty captain in sight. “Well! That...went well! Good job, the both of you.” She looked at the boy and sat back, shaking her head slightly. “You shouldn’t be patrolling alone, you know...it is dangerous. If we hadn’t come along when we did…”
It could have ended badly. He could have ended up as a missing person just like Lenka was--
Shaking her head more firmly this time, Julienne looked between the two, her eyes lingering for a moment on the senshi she had just awakened. “...Now, I know you must have dozens of questions...go ahead and ask them, either that or take me home, feed me and I’ll be able to answer in much more detail.”
The Mauvian rubbed her paw at her nose and gave what could almost pass as a grin. “...Or listen now, and take me home to feed me after regardless. That offer is open to either of you. I’m a hungry cat.”

Izanami stared at her hand for a long moment. Whatever her magic had done, it had been enough to drive that...that madwoman off, and that was the important thing, wasn't it? So she exhaled a breath, and nodded slowly.
"I, uh. I'm Sailor Izanami, of Cremation. It's a pleasure to meet you, Monoceros," she said, and part of her was still trying to reconcile what she had just done. She was magical. She had real power.
"I do. Have a lot of questions. I'd like to take you home, if you wouldn't mind?" She asked the cat, and then she turned to Monoceros, giving a brief polite nod. "You could join us, if you like? My apartment isn't far, and I live alone, so we would be free to discuss." She quirked a smile. "I assume this is all meant to be kept a secret, after all."

Monoceros shrugged at the cat, smiling sheepishly. He sort of always went alone. Maybe he should rectify that, but... Shaking it off, he nodded towards Izanami. "Yeah, of course. I'll come with. So long as you have a first aid kit," he joked, "And, uh, yeah. Secret. Keep it better than Iron Man did." He snickered.
