Too many days of a cat wandering in suspiciously open areas with a large number of jewels could cause issues. Whether it be an opportunistic thief who saw the chance to make some cash from a pedigree, or a Negaverse agent that had managed to put two and two together, it was safe to say that every now and then Namielle had to consider her position. More often than not this meant that she needed to plan against some of the more likely scenarios and mitigate that risk where possible. More often than not these could be dealt with reasonably easy, but every now and then something would spook her and she took more extreme measures.

This afternoon had been no exception - the previous evening she had been followed for more time than she had felt comfortable. No matter where she had wandered, what shortcuts she had taken, she hadn't been able to shoo away her pursuer. In the end she had literally called in back-up in the form of a senshi she knew to be in the area. After that her 'friend' had fled, but it had still left her uneasy. She'd been escorted home at that point and deposited herself comfortably in her room...only to wake up in alarm when she realised it might happen today as well.

...And that was why the Mauvian was now perched on the shoulder of the rather tall man as he strode with considerable purpose through the streets towards the address she had given him. She'd managed to convince Regula to escort her to meet with her dinner date. Just because she was a little spooked didn't mean she would stand Ryan up, especially when she was looking forward to the meal, she just needed to be a little more careful. Given that he had already been on his way to the inner city to run his own errands he had agreed.

Although she suspected he probably would have agreed either way.

"So who is this again?" he murmured out of the corner of his mouth as he swept passed several pedestrians and crossed the road. Familiar with the area, Regula was making good progress towards her meeting point. Nevertheless the 'stories' from the previous evening hadn't sat well with him and the prospect of leaving a Mauvian in the care of a relative stranger made him more uneasy than he cared to admit.

"He's a friend, I met him in the creepy village," she replied. She was careful not to reveal who or what he was, after all, everyone was entitled to their privacy...

"And you know he's not an Agent how...?" Regula wasn't subtle on this occasion. He rounded the corner and kept moving towards the park. Honestly, at some stage he was going to have to encourage people to stop using such obvious meeting spots. He was fairly sure almost everyone he'd ever met had been found in a park and at some stage that was going to bite them in the backside (and him for that matter).

"Gut instinct," the Mauvian lied, though she did at least sound like she was telling the truth.

"Mmm," Not that he sounded terribly convinced, but the village had done a number on him and he hadn't been quite the same since. "And how long are you aiming for this to take?" he continued and clucked his tongue. He'd come and collect her again in the evening, but he did need to know a rough time to make sure he was there when he needed to be.

"Dunno, can always ask when we get there." She shrugged, more than comfortable that Ryan would do his best to keep her out of trouble while she was digging in to his prepared food. "You need to relax a little though, he really is a nice guy," she added reassuringly. She might not have seen Ryan fight as a senshi, but she did believe his heard was in the right place and if he could keep her safe then he probably would.

...Not that she wanted to have anything 'exciting' happen, but Ryan didn't deserve any of the brewing hostility from Regula when he'd done nothing wrong. The suspicion wasn't warranted and soon Regula would see that for himself.

"Well we're almost there, so we'll see," Regula replied coolly. He would have liked to believe the Mauvian but after everything that was happened, he preferred to approach things with far more caution than she did. Once he'd met this 'Ryan' himself he would form an opinion, for now, the other man would continue to be regarded with suspicion...

Ryan had just finished wrapping up his stream, raiding a favorite of his before dipping for the night. He clicked on the shut down button right as his doorbell rang, and he stood from the chair, stretching and cracking his back. Skipping over to the door, he opened with a wide grin.

Only to gape at the extremely handsome man before him.

"Whoa, you're gorgeous," he said before he could stop himself, turning tomato red, "Ah, sorry! Sorry. Uh, do I.... know you or something?"

It was then that he noticed Namielle and grinned at her, trying to take his mind off what had just happened.

"Oh, hey, Namielle! This guy your human version of an Uber?" he joked, hoping this would help him relax again.

Well, that was certainly one way to be greeted. Regula couldn't say that it was entirely out of the ordinary as everyone had their own quirks, but generally speaking they weren't quite so direct with their compliments. If anything, most of the stuttering and stumbling over words was because they were in trouble and that generally meant that their compliments were a touch less direct and a lot more generic.

The man could do nothing more than afford several blinks for the briefest of instances. It took time to process this type of thing even when it was subtle, to have it slapped in his face had caught him off guard. He did eventually knock himself back to reality though and cleared his throat as he pulled Namielle from his shoulder and carefully deposited her by his feet.

"Thank you," he replied. It wasn't the smoothest way to deal with that, but he also wasn't the most eloquent of individuals either. Suffice to say that he wouldn't be waxing poetry anytime soon, as entertaining as that might be to some.

"Bodyguard," Namielle chuckled as she gave Regula's boot a pat and peered up towards Ryan with a particularly warm smile. "It has been a rather gloomy set of days, needs must sometimes," she added and turned briefly towards Regula. "But he does have a name, this is Regula," she finished.

"Regula this is Ryan and now that you've seen him you can relax," she deliberately bounced up on to Ryan's shoulder, a slightly easier feat considering he was somewhat shorter than the other man. "As you can see he has no horns, no fangs, no demonic glowing eyes," she wiggled her paws and gave his squeaks a little 'squish' to reassure said bodyguard that Ryan was not a threat to her.

"He's just hear to help me in my pursuit to be the worlds fattest cat by feeding me lovely food," she added merrily.

Ryan smiled sheepishly as the man—Regula—thanked him. He made a protestful sound as Namielle squished his cheeks and made a face, sticking out his tongue.

"Don't squish me," he whined petulantly.

Turning to face Regula again, now that his little embarrassing moment had passed, he grinned. "She is right, though. I cook. A lot. So I'm feeding her until she begs me to stop."

Regula's eyebrow lifted at Namielle's antics, but if there was one thing that was abundantly clear it was that Ryan was either a very trusted civilian or there was more to him than met the eye. If Namielle was comfortable enough to speak in his presence then logic would state that there was a good reason to trust him. After all, she knew she'd be turned in to slippers within the next few hours if a certain senshi discovered she was consorting with Chaos... either that or she'd be corrupted!

"I wish you luck with that, I'm fairly certain she's a bottomless pit," he chuckled softly and nodded towards Namielle before returning his gaze to Ryan. "I'll leave her in your capable hands then but... I do need a favour when you're done," he paused briefly and cleared his throat.

"As ridiculous as the notion is would you be so kind as to stay with her until I come to pick her up again? No need to leave your home, but just as a precaution - "

"He'll not let me get kidnapped Regula, relax," Namielle tutted. She'd released Ryan from her grasp by now and had refrained from 'squishing' him further. Perched comfortably on his shoulder she was more than ready to consume whatever dishes he had at her disposal to sample and quite frankly she was ready for it.

"Now shoo, I'm hungry and the night is not going to be young for long," she instructed, unceremoniously leaping from the young man's shoulder and wandering into his hallway.

Regula could do nothing more than flash an apologetic look towards Ryan before taking a few steps back.

"I wish you luck in putting up with her," He added as he moved away from the door and gave a wave.

"I'm not that bad," Namielle muttered. "Opinionated - yes, but I give compliments when they're deserved!"

Ryan giggled again as the two bickered, shaking his head slightly.

"I'll be here," he called after Regula, "Promise!"

He shut the door with a soft laugh and turned to head into the kitchen, cracking his knuckles in anticipation.

"Mind getting off my shoulder so I can get my apron on?" he asked, unsure if he was allowed to physically handle her himself.

By the time he had already asked she was off his shoulder, standing expectantly in his hallway. By now her escort would have rounded the corner and been long gone which meant from her point of view, they could get started without fear of interruption.

"You know I'm pretty sure I'd be agile enough to hop through the apron loop but I'm trying to conserve my energy for eating," she waved her paw and smiled. She did have the urge to be nosey and explore, human houses were always intriguing and a person's possessions could tell you a lot about them. Alas, she also knew that it was exceptionally rude to wander about and pry into drawers when you hadn't been informed that it was ok.

"What are we having anyway?" she asked curiously. She was fine with surprises being spoiled in that respect, it was how it tasted that would determine if she gave her seal of approval and then gushed on a blog about it!

"Ah, but eating gives you energy, doesn't it?" Ryan joked, grinning as he tossed on the frilly pink apron he used.

"I'm gonna be making some golden shrimp balls. Simple, really, some shrimp, potatoes, spices. It's delicious, now that I've gotten the recipe down. Took a few tries to make it perfect," he said cheerfully.

"Depends on how much I end up eating," Namielle's expression grew somber for a moment as she recalled some of the periods that she had severely overestimated just how much food she had ordered. The variation between the size of her stomach, what her brain thought she could eat, and what she could actually eat, could sometimes be as far apart as two planets apparently. There had been periods where she had been left groaning and that was not the most dignified way to be in public.

...She'd never live it down!

Still, the thought of shrimp balls and well seasoned potatoes did have her mouth watering just a little bit. If he had practiced enough to make this perfect then she would thoroughly enjoy it...just so long as his 'perfect' didn't mean that her mouth would be incinerated by a little too much spice.

"Sounds great, what can I do to help?" she asked curiously. "Or is this a sit back and watch the magic kind of deal?" she added with a wink. She'd be happy with either, but it was always polite to ask!

Ryan grinned at her. "Oh, yeah, food comas are totally a thing," he remarked, "Noooot very energy-boosting, huh? Oh well, I'll just have to be careful how much I make, then."

He winked at her.

"Uh... I'm gonna be honest, I'm not sure how much you can help," he said gently, "I mean... cat-like body? Unless you're gonna bust out some Remy from Ratatouille moves, in which case, no, you are not sitting on my head and pulling on my hair, especially since I do actually know how to cook, unlike Linguini."

"Actually..." Namielle smirked and gently dropped down from where she had been perched. She hadn't used her glamour this afternoon, knowing fully well she wouldn't need to order any food she had puttered about the house without a care in the world. It would have been sufficiently charged for now, by her calculations she would be able to achieve the full hours worth out of it.

...And at some point she really needed to work on upgrading and improving the duration given how utterly inconvenient an hour was.

She lifted a paw to tweak at the little ear piece, a subtle little thing that lay hidden just behind her fur and within an instant she had become something that was most definitely not a cat. Still petite, the now shapely woman stood in his kitchen with her hands on her hips. Alas she had lost the ears and tail due to the effects of the glamour but she was significantly more dextrous.

"I'm from Mau darling, Ratatouille is child's play," she finished with a wink.

Ryan's eyebrows lifted in surprise. He'd technically known this could happen, sure, but he'd forgotten about it, having not seen it happen yet.

"Well, nice. Okay then, you can start peeling the potatoes while I de-shell the shrimps," he said cheerfully, gesturing to the pile of potatoes and the peeler next to them. "Can't trust a cat around my fish." He winked.

He got a snort in reply. He deserved a response, admittedly it was one filled with mock offence, but it was still a reply. On the plus side she did make her way to the peeler and after flexing her fingers a few times, picked it up. She could peel these things, it wasn't something she did every day but if she could fix things with paws she could definitely make short work of peeling potatoes.

"De-shelling shrimp is the least glamorous of the two tasks," she stuck her tongue out and proceeded with her new chore. "You wanna pull lil guts out of those things then you have at it, it always looked icky to me," she added before raising a brow.

"So what have you been up to lately anyway, anything fun?"

He chuckled at her and shrugged. "Mostly gaming for my job and all that. Did get accepted into a local culinary college, though, so I'll be starting that in the fall! The thought's kinda scary, honestly. I never planned on heading to college, but I want to be able to do better with my food and also, like, own my own restaurant someday, so I'll need to take some business classes, too..."

He trailed off, focusing on the shrimp until they were done. He'd already chopped the veggies he'd needed and prepared his spices before Nami had come over, so he just needed to carve the potatoes when she was done peeling them so he could season and wrap the shrimp in them. Or, well, stuff the shrimp inside. Potatoes weren't that flexible.

"Own your own eh?" She pursed her lips thoughtfully and watched him work. Not everyone needed to go to business classes to make a successful business, all they really needed was direction and if he was smart about it he could probably find that elsewhere. Didn't the city have a variety of programs in place to encourage entrepreneurs and help them with their business plans? Surely that involved getting them up to speed on the basics and to be entirely honest if he was going to be the chef then he could always hire someone else to do the paperwork!

"Why not speak to one of those investment programs instead?" She asked curiously. "Speak to them about your business plan and they'll help tweak it so that you have a better structure in place," she clucked her tongue thoughtfully. "I'm almost sure some will do funding for it to get you up and running, then you pay it back when you're turning a profit!"

She grinned after a moment.

"And when it comes to advertising it's simple enough to do social media blitzes and get the word out, just gotta make some hype around it," she pointed out. "And if there's anything streamers are good at, it is hype, you know?"

A momentary pause though as she eyed the potatoes.

"I'm sure this will taste amazing but that looks unpleasant for the poor shrimp..."
