Iexa strolled down the street, wondering what he would have for dinner. He had been running errands and it was time for a break. He had told his Mom not to wait for him for dinner. He wanted take out.
There was a particular fish specialist that he was particularly fond of. He was aware he was supposed to be preparing for the new years celebration but he was at best apathetic. He felt no need to change anything about his life. He and his twin were perfect the way they were.

Taliessin was rushing around the market, trying to get her shopping done and out of the way. With her family preparing for the New Year's celebration, even the younger dancers were busy meaning she was the one who needed to pick up the food to make the meals. Tali didn't mind too much, but she would rather be somewhere else than the ever growing crowds.
"Let's see...last thing is fish...where is that vendor?" The petite girl stood on her toes, trying to look around the crowd to find the vendor. She might have stood out if the locals weren't so used to the hybrid (and her sister). She had been there since she was born, afterall.

He noticed a beautiful girl approaching, from the looks of things she was shifter mixed with something interesting, it had a devastatingly pretty effect. Huh, looked like she was getting in line for fish. He subtly sidled up to her.
"The trigger fish is my fav, how about you?" Waiting was always better served with conversation after all. She definitely had good taste in food if she had gotten in this line. He respected people with actual taste buds.
'Busy day for you it looks like."

Taliessin was focused on her list, and didn't notice Iexa move in line behind her. The crowds were busy enough that she wasn't the only one in line, so she almost didn't notice he was speaking to her until he spoke a second time.
"Wha-oh!" She replied, turning to look up at the hybrid before her, "Oh yeah, with everyone preparing for the show, it's all hands on deck." She shifted a moment before stepping closer to the vendor, smiling at the dark skinned boy before her. He looked like he was part shifter, but had a lot of different traits...maybe he was a full-mixed blood.

"The name is Iexa, I'll save you the long version, I'm not sure what my parents were thinking."
"You mentioned a show, may I ask which kind?" Did it have to do with animals, singing, dancing? Looked big judging on the length of her list. "Do you need help?" He had nothing else particular he needed to do and he could spare a few minutes to help someone out.
His Mother would be proud.

"Tali..." She replied with a smile and a nod, glancing every few moments to keep an eye on the line. She knew during busy days like these, if they didn't move others would move in their place, and she did not want to wait longer than needed in a line.
"Oh, it's...well my mother runs the local dancing hall...similar to the Red Amaryllis in Oba. We've got dancers...singers...musicians...a little bit of everything."
As he offered to help, she merely shrugged, "I appreciate it, but I don't have much on my list. And I don't want to interrupt your plans..."

"I don't really have plans today, I caught up on my homework and got my chores done so I have a few extra minutes, but if you want to continue on alone I understand." Sometimes it was good to just do one's own thing and adventure and relax while doing the chores. He would always get them done it was just a matter of when precisely he would return.
He felt a pang for his twin. Just because some stuff was fun alone didn't mean that he didn't miss his most favorite company.

"No plans for the new year?" She asked coyly, a brow raised in surprise. Everyone had plans right now, so why would he just be wandering about without anything to do.
"If you'd like, you're welcome to join us for our celebration?" A lot of people would be watching, as they were going to perform in the town square. Then there'd be a big feast, one reason why she was picking up some food for the chef.

"My parents are kinda used to me doing somewhat off beat things. There will be a dinner at home but I thought it would be fun to see how others celebrate too. I'll do my prayers for abundance, wealth and prosperity later tonight when there are not as many people around."
He inclined his head, "I would love to join you and your family, thank you so much for the offer!" She was such a sweetheart. Must have had good parents too.
"I bet the performance will be amazing." The dancers were renowned after all. Usually his family stayed home for stuff like this but with the kids getting older his parents took them out a lot more.

Nodding, Tali brightened up as they continued to move closer to the vendor.
"Oh yes, we're not as big as the red, but we've got a lot of young performers who are working hard to make a name for themselves! My mother really encourages unique styles and music...afterall she made a name for herself as a Kelderi dancer..."
Finally they made it to the front and Tali ordered her fish before stepping to the side to wait. Turning back to Iexa, she continued the conversation.
"My mother wanted me to be a dancer, but this year I'm trying my hand as a musician. Not sure if I want to sing or play, but that's what this year is about..."

"What may I ask is Kelderi dancing?" He had never heard of it but it sounded interesting. Anything about dancing was interesting. He loved to watch performers, it always made him feel like he could almost fly afterward.
He ordered his own fish and stayed with her, chatting away. "Thats really interesting that you try something different per year, maybe I should start doing that, I have no idea what I want to be but I know it will be pointy."
He liked weapons and chaos.
"Maybe thats how I will celebrate the new year, I'll spend a year playing with knives perhaps, then swords, beast taming you name it, odds are one will stick right?"
He grinned at her, she had just made growing up more fun for him.
"Thank you for the inspiration."

The girl held on to the fish and shifted further away from the crowds, not very excited to be bumped into considering she was much smaller than most of the adults bustling around.
"It's dancing, but you have a Keldari who moves around as well. It takes a lot of skill to control the snake as well as make a dance out of it."
As he spoke of his plans, she nodded, "Well, they say the new year is a chance to start over, new year new you?"

"That sounds like the coolest dance ever!" he was quite thoroughly impressed.
"Yes indeed, New year new me." He smiled. "I can't wait for the performance and the food now, at least I have a good reason to help you now if you want. I really wouldn't mind."
Anything for good people. The world needed more of them.
"You should know so much about music by the end of this year, that's a good accomplishment." He couldn't do much more than sing a little, and not overly good either.

"Well, let's get back then...might as well get you...acclimated to the Violent before things really kick off. It's very...colorful."
Taliessin cackled quietly at the thought before shifting her weight and leading the way. This would be a fun way to kick off the new year with a new friend.
