Odina loved walking around the forests at night. Her mothers had always talked about the night when she was just an idea shooting across the night sky and the youngling had always wanted to catch a celestial event of her own. Could tonight perhaps be the time to see the stars raining down from above as one of the great tree's blessings? Her golden gaze gleamed at the thought as she sneaked away once more and ventured towards a small clearing that had lately become one of her favorite spots for training and the like. Tonight she carried a small blanket and a pastry in hand that she had stolen from the kitchen so that she could both stay warm and snack under the starry night sky. Other sisters had mentioned that tonight the stars would be falling again and she was determined to sit out and stay out as long as possible to see it happen!
I'll see a star and make a wish to become the greatest warrior! She thought happily as she plopped down on a fallen tree and kept her gaze on the stars above. Anytime now one could shoot across the sky and she was not going to miss it!

"Come on, Tutu. We don't wanna miss it! Odina! Wait up!" Seiong was hurrying along the path she had noticed her sister taking, eager to follow along. A chunky duruf was chugging along at her heels, looking more like a rock than a living creature. "Are you going to the stars? I wanna see them, too. Mama and Mima say we can wish on them!" Surely her sister already knew all of this, but the youngling was excited for the coming spectacle!

Odina blinked as she heard her sister calling her name. "Well then run faster, Seiong!" She responded with a grin before actually slowing down a few paces to allow her sibling to catch up. "Wishes?" She replied as her sibling caught up to her. "I wanted to see them because of how pretty they are but I 'spose wishes work as well." Odina pondered about what type of wishes she could get granted. Did stars care about if one became a warrior or not? Maybe? Her lips pursed into a small frown as she adjusted her blanket around her shoulders before glancing towards Seiong and her familiar. "Do you have a wish in mind for the stars?"

Faster? The youngling dropped her gaze to the ground to focus on running, rather concerned about tripping up as she hurried her pace. After a history of tripping over her own feet, she had cause for concern~
She arrived at her sister's side without incident though, and smiled brightly. "Yeah! I heard you can wish for anything, and the stars make it more likely to come true." Brow rising, she giggled and squatted down to wrap her arms around the duruf. "I wish Tutu could live forever!" she crooned, rubbing her face into the canine's mane. Tutu simply replied with a gruff little grunt of contentment. "I bet I know what Odina wants, right, Tutu?" she loudly whispered, looking over to her sister with a playful grin.

A 'pfft' of laughter escaped Odina's lips at the silly wish that her sister had for the duruf. "That's one thing to wish for." She replied with a slight shake of her head as she watched the pair. Maybe if she hadn't spent so much time training then she could have found a familiar for herself? Either way she did admittedly enjoy Tutu's presence a little bit....just a little. The Vandrea's attention drifted from the duruf and back towards her sister at the teasing question. "Do you now?" She found herself replying with a raised eyebrow even though her interests were fairly obvious especially with her family members. "Maybe I want to be the best artist around." But even that felt like lead on her lips and Odina shook her head at the thought. She loved trinkets but making them definitely was not her forte!

Seiong stood up with a giggle. She knew it was silly and rather unlikely to be chosen by the stars, but it was still true! Through everything, she knew she could count on her Tutu to cheer her up whenever the need arrived. Of course, she could count on Odina for the same thing... She giggled again and shook her head. "maybe, but probably not," she mused, tapping a finger to her chin. She looked up as though contemplating the right answer when a big smile broke out over her face. "Look! Look! They're falling!" she shrieked excitedly, pointing to the streaks starting to mark up the dark sky.

"Oh they are!" Odina's gaze widened as she actually caught sight of the falling stars. So her older sisters weren't just pulling on her antennae after all! A gasp of amazement escaped her lips as she darted forward and gestured for her sibling to follow. "Let's go to the cliff and get a better view!" She could just imagine reaching out and seeing if she could actually catch a star in her hands. Imagine if that was possible? Excitement made Odina's cheeks flush as she bounced on her feet ready to run.

Seiong nodded excitedly. "Just don't get too close to the edge!" she warned affectionately. She had no doubt that her sister would be fine, but she had gone through her own share of close calls that the protective side of her would always reach out to envelope her loved ones as well.
Such as it was, she ran for the higher ground to follow after Odina and clapped her hands together. "They're so pretty! I hope one falls over here. That would be so nice to have a star to show off."

"That's not as exciting though!" Quipped back Odina as she raced ahead. The young Vandrea was daring and full of energy as always so she didn't hesitate to reach out towards a low lying tree that stretched towards the sky along the edges of the cliffs. Her hands tightened around a branch as she leaned forward and then yelled quickly towards her sister. "Look! There goes another star!"
Let me be a great warrior, please, please please! Not that she would dare wish such a thing out loud but her gaze was determined as she continued watching the sky for more stars to wish upon.

Seiong had to smile. Of course her sister would say that. Odina was always ready to face excitement and challenges. Seiong remained a little further back from the edge, and dropped onto her butt so that she could look up at the sky without worry for tipping over. Her eyes were wide with delight and wonder as the stars cutting their brief trails overhead. Hopefully the other sisters and cousins were watching this as well.
Thoughts of a wish had her stall though. What did she want? Her brow knit while one hand reached out to ruffle Tutu's mane idly. The possibilities were endless, and, honestly, intimidating. She could be anything, but she couldn't be everything... 'My wish... please help me find what I'm best at to make everyone proud.'
"I wonder how many we'll see tonight. Will we need to go to bed before they're done?"

The branch groaned beneath Odina's feet as she tried to edge out closer but the Vandrea youngling made certain to back off and try another limb of the tree as she continued watching the stars. "Hopefully we can see a lot!" She chirped happily as she glanced back towards Seiong. "Do we get a new wish per star? That would be interesting, right?" Despite her best efforts it was hard to contain her excitement now that she was actually seeing the stars shooting across the night sky. It was one thing to hear about them and another thing entirely to witness the event for herself!
"Hopefully our mothers won't mind if we stay out a bit longer than usual...right?" Her antennae flicked hopefully at the thought as she considered the possibility of having to return early. They were already breaking a bit of the rules by going so far away from home on their own. Still they were a bit older now so maybe it wouldn't be such a big deal....hopefully.

Seiong nodded lightly.. She wanted to see all of them if it was possible! Laying out to stretch out on her back, she sighed contently. It really was a beautiful sight. "It's a special occasion," she attempted to rationalize, "so they should be okay. ...I guess we should have asked about that." A bashful smile rose with the thought. She had just been too excited to see the stars at all to worry about those details!

"Exactly!" Agreed Odina before giving her sibling a sheepish grin of her own. "It's a bit too late to ask since the stars are moving already but surely they'll understand." Her gaze gleamed with excitement as she stretched out a hand towards the skies almost as if she could just pluck one of the falling lights for herself. Clutching her hand back towards her chest, Odina thought of her wishes before climbing back down to plop next to her sister. "Let's just enjoy them and collect on all of the wishes before we come home." Maybe they could even sneak in a wish about their mothers not being quite so mad about them sneaking out so late like this....now that was an idea! Either way Odina was just happy to share the moment with her sister and decided that any trouble they earned was well worth watching the stars together.

Seiong giggled and shadowed her sister's movement, fingers stretching out toward the sky. This had to be special enough to allow some wiggle room for bed! For a moment, she forgot about her wishes and focused on the show above, imaging her hand was reaching all the way up to burrow her fingers into the deep coverage that held the stars over them. Odina's movement closer pulled her from such imaginings, and she cuddled closer contently. It would have been nice for the whole family to be here, but this was just as nice in its own way.
