Solo or RP Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

There are many superstitions and beliefs in Tendaji, often originating from the culture and gods of each individual region. Wherever one goes, they might find a new routine or practice based on the region they are in. However, there seems to be one thing that all Tendaji residents believe in - the power and beauty of a meteor shower.

The rare celestial event is seen as a blessing, and this one just so happens to have appeared right when the New Year began. Oh what luck and what a great omen - this must be a sign of good fortune for the year to come.

[ How does your character react to the meteor shower that is lighting up the sky? How do they see this omen impacting their life and year to come? Explore the thoughts and experience either alone or with a friend. ]

Eihari had nothing else to do for the night, as her chores had all been done in record time so she could get in some practice time, she pulled out her instrument and got set up. A small stand was put in front of her ground pillow so that she could easily reach it then her musical instrument was put on top. She centered it so that there was no risk of it falling off. Whenever she handled the music maker she took great care of it. Since it was the only one she had and wasn’t cheat to replace she wanted to make sure it lasted for a long time. The hybrid girl even played the strings softly, giving her music a haunting sound, so that she didn’t stress the strings too much and cause them to snap.

After it was placed and things were all set she rounded the setup so that she could take her seat on the pillow. Eihari crossed her legs and scooted forward just a bit so that she could get comfortable then straightened her clothing and hair. Looking good while playing was also a must. If one looked sloppy then it would take away from the performance. No one wanted to watch a slob play, no matter how good the music was.

Her hands moved out and she gave a test strum to the strings. All notes rang out at once and she smiled at the sound. It was a mash of different ones but to her it was a sign she was getting ready to play a full song. Putting her hands into position she took a deep breath to steady herself. Right before she plucked the first string and let that note fly she saw a flash of light in the sky above her and stopped. Eihari looked up to see what it was. Another flash happened as she did and it took her breath away.

The flash that she saw was a streak of light above. A shooting star. She tilted her head back so that she could follow the lights as they went past her head so far up in the sky. A genuine smile lit up her face and she looked back down at her instrument. Eihari hadn’t been sure which song she was going to play before but now she did. A lullaby of the stars just made sense.

Her fingers worked and she hit the first few notes. They were soft and eerie at the same time. More notes followed and mixed in the air with the others. The sound they made together was beautiful. It was a perfect soundtrack to the scene going on above her. Only after she got a few chords out did she opt to add her voice. Singing along in almost a whisper. The lullaby was beautiful. It always made her think of a bright night sky dotted with stars and a full moon at its center. Now it would forever be associated with the shooting stars that she was witnessing now.

In her mind, even as she sang the words, she wondered if the Gods were trying to tell her that they loved when she played. Did they hear her songs? Did the notes leave her fingers and rise into the sky for their ears? The thought was both amazing and terrifying at the same time. Was her music good enough to be heard by the gods? A pair of stars rushed past her looking like they were racing one another to get to the other side of the sky and she smiled. Maybe her music was perfect for them.

As she continued she noticed that her mother had come outside to listen as well. The woman stood in the doorway with her hand to her chest as she stared in awe at the sky. Tears gathered in her eyes as she witnessed the beauty of the sky and heard the lullaby that accompanied it. Her gasp of how beautiful it was brought her dad along as well. He stood behind her mother with his hands on her shoulders and he grinned up at the night sky. Soon she caught the both of them swaying in time to the music of her instrument.

It had been a good day that saw her chores done in time. Truly she had been meant to play tonight. Eihari was now more sure than she had ever been that she was following the right path.
