There are many superstitions and beliefs in Tendaji, often originating from the culture and gods of each individual region. Wherever one goes, they might find a new routine or practice based on the region they are in. However, there seems to be one thing that all Tendaji residents believe in - the power and beauty of a meteor shower.

The rare celestial event is seen as a blessing, and this one just so happens to have appeared right when the New Year began. Oh what luck and what a great omen - this must be a sign of good fortune for the year to come.

[ How does your character react to the meteor shower that is lighting up the sky? How do they see this omen impacting their life and year to come? Explore the thoughts and experience either alone or with a friend. ]

A trip to Oba for him meant he could see his Aunts and Uncles as well as his grandparents. Lynxdaroch loved when they came to visit because he and his twin were always spoiled. They traveled home with nothing less than a bag full of gifts from the family. Sometimes more.

He knew his uncle Dovian worked late at the forge and so he had made his way in that direction to hopefully catch him before he left so that they could walk home together. His hands were up behind his head as he walked, lazily looking around at everything when something in the sky caught his attention. A streak of light flying across made his stop in his tracks and watch. "Whoa..." The word of awe left his mouth and his hands slowly came away from his head. "That's amazing.." More of the flying lights followed and for a second he wasn't sure what they were.

Oba had slowly become Adenah's main residence. Originally she'd put as much distance between her and the sands as possible because of enemies that breathed down her neck, but now...Well, if they wanted her dead she'd be dead, right? It's safe enough...probably. So long as she didn't return to the capital she should be fine.

Adenah was out on the prowl for the latest mark, as she usually was, in the darker recesses of the evening. The closer nightfall came the more her hands seemed to itch. Any minute now her informant would drop by, give her a target and then - "What is?" Naturally, her short attention span caught onto the stranger's words and Adenah followed his eyes to the sky. Her eyes widened, an excited squeal slipping out as well as a slight bounce. "Oh, shooting stars!"

When he heard the squeal he looked over at who made the noise. Teen male that he was his attention went to the bounce before it went to the lady's face. He stuttered for a moment before his brain caught up. "The uh.. Um.. Yeah. Shooting stars." He pointed to the sky even though it was unnecessary.

Lynx found himself staring and cleared his throat so that he could refocus on the sky. "Yeah.. Stars. He had to remind himself that the stars were up there.

"They're so pretty! I've never seen shooting stars before, have you?" It didn't really matter why she was there, at that time of night, anymore; all Adenah cared about was the glistening sky above her. She swayed from hip to hip, as happy as a little girl on her nameday.

Something about the other hybrid seemed a little...off though and it caught Adenah's attention. "What's wrong? Stars got you tongue tied?"

"Me either.." He commented as he peeked at the woman again. Lynx couldn't help it. He didn't see her type often. And by type he meant gorgeous. Women were pretty, sure, but not many looked like she did.

His cheeks darkened when she asked him about his tongue. "Wha-.. I.. Sorry." Unsure what to do he looked at the ground in front of his feet. Staring was rude and he knew that. His mother would likely laugh at him then hit him upside the head. His uncle would be disappointed in him. He wasn't even sure what his dad would do. Stare with him or give him a lecture.

Doubt he was even looking at the stars at all. Adenah couldn't help rolling her eyes a little with her trademarked grin. Young guy like that, a girl like her...yeah, it didn't take a genius to figure out what he'd been looking at.

"It's okay; I'm not mad." She took a half step forward and reached up to ruffle his hair just the same as she usually did for her brothers. The color of his reminded her of home which made her all the more ready to forgive him. "What are you doing out here this late, anyway? Cute little guy like you should be home where it's safe."

When she ruffled his hair he was oddly remind of his mother and how she did that all the time to irritate him. It made him feel a bit weird. Then she asked what he was doing out. He lifted a hand and pointed in the direction of the forge. "Here looking for my uncle. I was gonna walk home with him." He had nothing else to do so he might as well get some fun out of the trip to Oba.

"He works in the forge just down there." At least he wasn't stuttering anymore. And for the time being his attention was actually on her face rather than her chest.

"Your Uncle?" Adenah scrunched up her face and looked down the street. The view was a little different at night than it was during the day so it was possible it was a different smith and yet...

"What's your Uncle's name? I might know him." She said it kindly enough, but her mind was already a whirl. If it was who she thought it was then Adenah's night was about to get so much more exciting!

When she asked for his Uncle's name he perked up a little. Did she know him? "His name is Dovian." Lynx grinned. "Are you a friend of his? Mom always said he was shy when they were kids."

He held his hand out for her. "Did you wanna come with me to get him? He should be about done with work." If he could bring a friend to his uncle then it would be a nice night, especially one as beautiful as this.

Adenah's face lit up. "Seriously?! You're Dovian's nephew?! No wonder you're so handsome." She bumped her hip against his with a broad smile. What were the chances?!

"I really shouldn't. I'm supposed to be working..." Any minute now her informant would be dropping by, but Adenah hadn't seen her yet and really...how often was she able to drop by an old friend with the possibility of terrorizing the poor b*****d? Besides, they did their best work under cover of night and well, the sky was pretty bright right now with all of these stars. You can always meet with her later; maybe she'll still have a job or two.

"You know what? Why not, it sounds like fun." Adenah took his hand and started towards the forge. "Did your mom tell you any other stories about Dovi when he was a kid? We only recently became friends so I don't know that much about him yet."

A grin slowly spread across his face. "Yeah, between my mom's side of the family and my dad's its almost unfair to the rest of the world. Even more so when you find out I have an identical twin." Lynx was proud to be a twin.

He waited as she seemed to have a mental argument. When she agreed he gave a chuckle then held his hand out for her again. "Alright, shall we? Maybe you can catch a peek of him still working." If this beautiful woman caught sight of his uncle shirtless and working the metal she might fall head over heels for him.

Adenah gave a little dramatic gasp and placed a hand over heart. "No. An identical twin? Say it isn't so! Hearts from Matori all the way to Belrea won't stand a chance." Spirits give his mother strength. She tried to imagine how much harder it would have been if her brothers had been identical and Adenah sent a silent prayer to whatever gods were listening that it hadn't been so. Maybe he wasn't as much of a trouble maker as they were, though. Spirits knew how much her brothers would have abused an identical face. What do you mean I ate the last cake? Nope, that was Ezrah!

"Do you think we could sneak up on him? I'd really like to surprise him. Maybe when he's taking a break; I wouldn't want him to get hurt." She could only imagine the look on his face as he turned around, exhausted from a long day's grind, to find her lounging just in the corner of his eye...

"My name's Adenah, by the way, but you can call me Ade."

He laughed. "Oh yeah. We still trick our parents about who's who."

He led the way down to the forge that his uncle was working at. "Hmn, yeah. We can do that. I'm pretty good at sneaking." He and his brother had gotten really good at it.

"Hello miss Ade. I'm Lynxdaroch. I go by Lynx though." He kept grinning as he came up with the perfect plan to get the beautiful woman in to surprise his uncle. This was going to be fun.

"Good, I'm counting on you, Lynx." Spirits, that name was a mouthful, wasn't it? How the hell do you even spell that? At least his nickname was a easier to remember.

This may not have been how she expected her night to go, but Adenah wasn't one to complain. Maybe with the stars above something new was set to start. This might have been a sign that the mark was meant to live or that something would have gone wrong...Whatever the case she was going into her newest 'job' with a chipper heart.

Hopefully Dovian would be as happy to see her as she was to see him.
