School/Occupation: Skye has a Bachelor's in History and Anthropology. Currently works at the Historical Museum in Destiny City as an Archivist and occasionally does tour guides through exhibits.
Hobbies: Hunting: Bow fishing is probably her favorite type of hunting as it can be done throughout the year. However, Skye returns to Alaska every year to hunt deer, elk, caribou, and sometimes rabbits together with extended family members. She prefers to not hunt predators such as bears, wolves, foxes, or seals as she has a respect for the natural order of things. Skye is not a trophy hunter, never will she kill more than what is allowed or needed.
Carving: A craft to keep her hands busy, Skye enjoys carving small animals or figures out of scrap pieces of wood, antlers, or stone. Bears, wolves, and salmon are most common figures, however, she can make other animals like rabbits and some insects. At times, if she's inclined to do so, she'll take on a more elaborate piece and carve out a decorative walking stick. Sometimes these are given as gifts, but most times they are done while out hiking or camping trips and are left somewhere along a trail for someone else to find. It's been suggested she sell them on Etsy but has yet to be convinced.
Snowboarding: Definitely a winter sport but when time allows, she will drive however many hours it takes to go to the nearest mountain that has a ski or snowboarding lift. Before moving to Destiny City, she enjoyed visiting Alyeska Ski Resort in Alaska, Whistler Ski Resort in Canada, and Snoqualmie Ski Resort in Washington. She worried that the move would cause her to give up this hobby, but Destiny City has shown that the Winter months bring a lot more snow than she anticipated or expected, much to her delight.
Virtues:Easy Going Skye is a relatively calm individual. While she is forward moving and likes to keep busy, she's not going to get snappy at someone who interrupts her tasks. In her mind rules are more like guidelines and shouldn't be so rigid unless it relates to someone's health or safety. She'd like to believe that it's easy for her to basically go with the flow without being careless about it.
Decisive and Direct Ask Sky her opinion and she'll often give it, she doesn't like to beat around the bush and definitely finds no humor in playing out the vulture scene from the Jungle Book; "What do you want to do? I don't know, what do you want to do?..." She knows what she wants to get accomplished in a day/ week/ month and sets milestone goals for financial planning. This isn't to say that she won't be flexible with her time or that her plans can't be changed, she just rarely has an "I don't know what to do" or "I'm bored" moment.
Flaws: Emotionally Detatched For Skye this is not so much an inability to empathize with other people as it is an unwillingness to connect with them on an emotional level. Skye can understand why a person feels the way they do in most situations but there is an obvious disconnect, almost as if there is a wall up preventing her from sharing in the same reactions. Most notably is her view of intimacy or death, most might find her uncaring or unsympathetic with regards to relationships or losing loved ones. This isn't to say she won't listen to someone who needs an ear to vent to or a shoulder to cry on but she's not going to shed a tear with them either.
Uncompromising This isn't to say that she is unwilling to engage in intellectual conversation or try to find a middle ground, but be prepared to present her with hard evidence. Once Skye has her mind set on a matter, it is difficult to make her see things differently without hard facts. Everyone has their opinions, which is fine, but she is going to live by her truths and experiences. She'd much rather end a conversation on an "Agree to Disagree" note and move on than to get into a heated conversation.
