A single breath starts it all.
Your head feels heavy, but you abruptly roll to one side, before the cold, stone floor stings your cheek and startles your mind
awake.
...
You don't recognise the place you've found yourself in, but you quickly take note of your surroundings in an attempt to
find out where you are.
There is limited light, and the air is stale. Moisture sticks to your skin, and the cold bites gently through it. There is a subtle
ambiance, and you can hear a waterfall nearby, but there is no wind.
...
You deduce that you are somewhere underground.
Droplets of water fall from the ceiling to land on the stone bricks beside you. Looking around, there is a steadily-flowing spillet
of water seeping from several of the walls, between cracks, and in places where a brick has been removed or become eroded.
...
Nothing about this place seems familiar, and you wonder how you got here.
...
You take a closer look at yourself; your clothes are your own, but they are old, and decrepit, like they've aged a decade or two.
Your body feels weak and thin, almost malnourished, but you have the strength to move and nothing hurts.
Something on the walls and ceilings catches your notice. Chains, and Iron Bars.
You're in some sort of ruined, abandoned prison.
However, you are not bound or restrained in any way.
Maybe you fell into this place, and hit your head?
...
As you get to your feet, you notice an old, rusted Iron Door blocking the way into an adjoining hallway. It looks heavy,
like a prison door should.
You spend a few moments to peer down the hallway you're already in, but while there is some light escaping into the room
from the ceiling, there doesn't seem to be a way forward.
In fact, it appears as though the path just abruptly ends at the back of the current hallway, leading into a sheer drop into
darkness.
Turning back to the Iron Door, you decide that staying here isn't an option; you must find a way out.
The large Iron Door has a very obvious metal bolt anchoring it in place in its metal frame, meaning it is locked. Though you
don't have a key, you know you have to try to get it open somehow.
