With Soleiyu there dampening their auras, Cavansite had teleported back to her office. The plan was for her to bring Parisite here on her own, both to save his energy and to make it so the Mauvian didn’t have to work so hard dampening two signatures. It was simply going to be a time for them to write some letters to themselves, that and she wanted to do a little more research on this Michael.

When the General was settled she summoned her Captain to her, pleased as always with the ability. “Parisite. Please, have a seat.”

They were...in enemy territory, and honestly, being here was more than a little uncomfortable, and she changed her plans after a moment. “You’re going to help me pack my personal things for my move, and I have something I want to give you, I just…”

She pursed her lips and glanced at her desk drawers. “...I just need to find it, but...there are some boxes folded under the couch if you could get to work.” Cavansite didn’t know who could be listening. Didn’t know what could be listening.

The plan was really coming together, Cavansite had put the deposit down on a two bedroom across town from where their home was, had made a paper trail that had both herself and Yu to be moving there.

They wouldn’t be able to trace them, she would make sure of it. “Be careful with the breakables, Captain. I’m doing you a favor, remember.”

Parisite nodded, the tension running through his shoulders similar to her own.

“Yes, ma'am,” He said with a nod. “If I knew what you were looking for, perhaps I could help you find it?” He offered as he unfolded boxes and carefully refolded them into …well, proper boxes fit for packing.

“I promise I won’t forget the favor man.”

He hoped that was true, to be honest. Even with a litter, it was strange to know that…unknown parts of his memory would just be…gone.

That still wasn’t as bad as the thought of becoming a proper monster. He did wonder, on a sort of terrible level, what he would be like if he forgot his younger years. What would he think of his life if the only record was scars? What about her? What if she forgot…him, why she’d done this.

It was an enormous step they were taking, but they had to.

None of these were questions he could ask out loud though.

“If it’s not… impudent Ma’am… may I suggest we get a new couch?” He offered, a wicked glint in his eyes for a moment, a small critique of the thing, which was somehow worse than his own bed.

Cavansite snorted. “Do you really think I’m taking my couch? No, that stays here for when I’m working too much and need a nap!” She wore a soft smile at that. But really. She didn’t like the couch, but it had been her bed for...well. Over a year now so...it wasn’t so bad.

She might even miss it. A little.

Finally, she found what it was that she had been looking for. A small bone with a crack in it. She had found it one of the times she had ventured into the rift. It was never a place that she liked going...but her research on youma...well. In doing some research on the bone, she thought that it might be one of the special ones that could heal injuries. If Parisite had an enemy...it could save his life.

“Found it. Here. And don’t laugh, I swear it’s something useful.” Even though it looked like some kind of large chicken bone.

“If it is what I’m pretty sure it is, it’ll help you in your fight with Michael. If he lands any blows on you or you get hurt, just crack it. Crack it and breathe in the smoke that comes out. It should heal up whatever’s broken. Or at least that’s what the reports on it say.”

Cavansite wanted to be with him when the confrontation happened but, she knew it was going to be unlikely. But this. This would at least provide some protection.

He blinked at it, rolling it gently in his hand.

“Wow… I mean, if I knew they did that I’d have saved a whole lot more chicken bones in my life.” He teased, glancing at her and then back at it. Prodding it with his finger before tucking it away in the safest spot on his uniform he could think of.

“So, people have actually used these?” he marveled. “it… makes me darkly curious what it’s helped out with.” He admitted. He always sort of wanted to know the limits of things. But - perhaps it would be better if he didn’t know. Because that way…he wouldn’t be cocky.

“I appreciate it, I’ll try not to need it too,” he promised.

“Do… we what where they come from, Ma’am?” He added dropping back into polite deference. He was curious though, it didn’t seem… human, but then again what the hell did he know?

“Mhm, there have been a few reports of it, and I don’t think it’s a chicken bone you dork.” Cavansite laughed and shook her head, grabbing one of the boxes and beginning to dump her drawers into it, pursing her lips as she came across the envelope full of money that Amesite had left her. She hadn’t touched it of course, hadn’t even let herself think about it but...it would be useful now.

To start her own new life.

God, she should have known by that alone that he hadn’t died. But...well, no. She thought. Ah. It didn’t matter now.

“Hm? Where do they come from?” She shook her head slightly, trying to clear it and shrugged. “I honestly have no idea. I got that one while I was looking around the rift for a little while, but, I really don’t know. It’s an interesting question, maybe that will be your assignment for me getting you promoted to General, do a little research and find an answer, if there’s one to be found.”

Cavansite stuck her tongue out at him and dumped her next drawer into a box.

“I mean, you know I’m probably not the best person to put on research tasks.” He teased. “I’d probably do something dumb like, get eaten by a Youma.”

He grinned at her despite himself, the idea of him making it to General, especially now was…ridiculous.

“Oh I, didn’t tell you, I ran into cinnamon-toast-b*****d again!” He said almost cheerful, though the memory of ‘handsy’ Cinnamon b*****d made him shudder despite himself.

“Man has some…super odd ideas about the world let me tell you. Apparently. since I cut up the b*****d’s arm, I’ve laid claim to him, and because I got away, twice… he’s got a claim on me. I guess it's like… murder married or something.”

He rolled his eyes.

“Anyhow, I’m ‘not allowed’ to die, unless it’s him, and if I let anyone else get the best of me, he’ll be really mad at me. I’m not sure how he thinks that would work if like, a Youma eats me. If he plans to like… punch the Youma and yell down its throat or what but, I thought I should ask if I should include that in the report.”

Cavansite stiffened when he mentioned the cinnamon senshi once again, and she looked up at Yu with a worried expression. That was the last thing that he needed. Seriously.

But the way he was talking made her snort and she shook her head. “Good god. He would rip you out of the youma and do some kind of blood sacrifice to wake you up I bet. What a creep…”

When the last drawer was emptied into a box, the General laughed. “...Murder married...god, that’s...You’re so funny, Parisite. He’s...He’s something else, honestly, I hope something takes him out before he causes more issues. That bone might be useful for him too, honestly. I can start patrolling with you if you're ever afraid.”

As much as she wished, she wasn’t even teasing. She didn’t think he needed that level of protection...but between Michael and this Cinnamon Senshi...poor Parisite was in danger from all sides.

“I really don’t mind. I could use the time outside.” Ah, and when they were knights...she would love patrolling with him. It would be wonderful.

“I will absolutely take that into consideration!” He said earnestly.
‘I just don’t want your neck … to uh, end up like that other dude I saved the kid from.” He grimaced.

“At least I know you don’t just recruit cannon fodder. I know what I’m doing with a knife at least.” He shook his head with a small grimace. He really did have to try and find a safe way to try and encourage the kid to leave without getting anyone killed.

That…was of course the tricky part.

“Also, it wouldn’t be out of fear, it would be …. strategic distribution of cinnamon, which let me tell you I have the worst possible opinion of cinnamon brooms now. You know I used to sort of LIKE them? I even had a hard time with cinnamon rolls.” He scowled.

“Now I just don’t like them because I feel like he might be creeping up on me, the jerk. I just… want to get a can of frosting and mash it into his smarmy face. Like ‘thanks for ruining something I enjoyed jerk!”

He let himself ramble, something boring and he hoped amusing for her, but too dull to eves drop on for long.

It was truly a serious conversation, and Cavansite knew she shouldn’t find his words as funny as she did, but when Parisite spoke of shoving frosting into the senshi’s face, she burst out laughing, shaking her head and clutching her stomach after a while, unable to catch her breath as her mind painted the picture of Yu doing just that, and smacking the guy around with one of the cinnamon brooms that he had mentioned disliking too.

Oh god. It was just too much.

When she finally managed to get herself under control and wiped the tears out of her eyes, the General shook her head. “...Okay, ow. I wish I had drawing skills or something because, the vision in my head just now was one of the funniest things I think I have ever imagined, ah. You’re too much for me, kid. I’m going to have a constant stomachache from laughing too much at our new place, I can already feel it.”

Her drawers were empty and she stood, closing the box and folding the top so that it would remain closed. “...you almost done? I’m thinking we can take this load back and maybe grab something to eat if you want?” Or rather, they could get out of Negaspace and go somewhere safe again. Writing their letters would be far too tricky here, not to mention the fact that she just...didn’t feel comfortable doing it.

“At least I now know what not to get you for a gift. Very helpful, Parasite. Very helpful indeed.”

“Yeah I’m good here, I can carry more too I think if you need?” He offered.

“I’ll see if we can’t find a roomie who’s an artist and fits with uh…Us.” He grinned. “It’d be a shame not to have my absolutely brilliant combat ideas not captured somehow. I’m sure we could pass it off as some kind of hero comic.

“But I’m down for grabbing lunch too, as long as I don’t make you laugh too hard.”

He grinned, a flash of sharp teeth and bitter humor made light.

“We have a lot to do, after all, we should probably make a list. It’s not like I’m a pro at renting new places.”

Grinning, Cavansite lifted her box and held it in one arm, reaching to take hold of Parisite’s with her other. “Yeah, we’ll figure it out, Parasite. The best part about this is the fact that we won’t be alone. We’ll do this together. I’m not so great with renting places either, though I suppose if I really didn’t want to, I could get the nerve to talk to my ex and get my house back but…”

She shrugged. “I’m brave, but not that brave. Lunch it is, my little Captain. And we’ll figure out your assignment to get to General.”

Cavansite winked at him, amused by how...silly it felt to try and be so covert but.

It was better than being found out.

Honestly, she didn’t really breathe easily until she had teleported them both out of there, and they were back at the house.

...Back home.

Where they belonged.
