He had just pinned the janarim down, asserting himself as the leader, a feat carefully orchestrated to trick the creature into thinking he was way stronger than he actually was. This was a critical part in the training especially in this particular case because this janarim was aggressive, Kiyelt had the scratches and black puffy eye to prove it.
He wiped the snot that was dripping from his nose on his arm which was handily smashed into his face from the force he was using to keep the beast down.
He heard something, something besides their scuffle and ascertaining that the message had sunk into the creature below him he controlled his movements tightly and got off the animal.

Ninaeleth 1
Nin stood at the fence watching, she didn't want to interupt him, especially at this point but well supper was ready and he would do well to get it while it was still hot.
"Seems you made a new friend." She smiled at the lovely beast before her. The janarim was large male and angsty or at least he had been when he had arrived here. Now it was looking at her husband with unabashed respect.
She appreciated that.
"Um, dinner is ready."

"Oh Nin, came to watch huh?" He secretly loved it when she did that, made him feel safer. It was always good to have someone with medical training on hand.
"Hes coming along, this is the most progress I have made so far.. well I am getting hungry, what say you boy would you like to be done for today and go nap off all the hard learning?"
He paused, the beast had wandered over to Nin and had leaned his head far out, reaching for her belly with a concentrated look on his face. He wasn't behaving aggressive though.
"Well would you look at that..uh Nin, do you think maybe hes trying to tell you something?" He had his suspicions.
"Haven't been craving coconut like you life depends on it have you?"

Nin stared down at the creature perplexed, she didn't have any meat juice splashed on her did she? No, she remembered cleaning up before coming out here.
"Coconut? Well yes, now that you mention it i went and got some two days ago and I already ate them, why do you want coconut?"
The janarim's snoot brushed over her belly and she paused, stilling into quietness.
"Do you think?"

"Oh I very much do think! Round Two here we come." He patted the snuffling janarim. "Get yer own woman son, shes mine, besides your owner would make you a stud after this as long as you behave."
It was truly a magnificent beast and he always liked it when critters told him about something he could not detect and what greater treasure than another set of unborn children.
He got the beast settled in bed then went back out to Nin. He put his hand over her abdomen.
"Having my child again, my goddess?" He imagined he could feel the life beneath his hands.

"Always love." He better not have kids with anyone else after what she had gone through with the first three by crikey she would ring him one.
She put her hand over his and rubbed it over her belly. "New life, it starts again!"
She had not missed the morning sickness or the peeing every five minutes but holding her babies when they were little made up for all of it. They were so cute and sweet and precious then. Now they were almost taller than her!
"I'm glad we did this when we did."

"Me too Nin, me too." He held her close and buried his face in her neck. Slowly he swayed back and forth to a tune only he could hear.
Tears rolled down his cheeks and he knotted his fingers in her hair gently.
"I don't ever want to leave this moment." He was warm and safe and ow, his eye really hurt.
"But I think I need some cool water for my eye."

"He clocked you good didn't he." She felt gently around the swelling, "Yes cold compress. He didn't break the skin. What a pity you have such pretty eyes." All of their children had gotten the yellow eyes so far, she wondered if that streak would continue with this next child.
"I think we need another boy, poor Thallassa would be swamped if we had another girl."
She dragged him to the creek where she put a cloth soaked in the cold stream water on his eye.
"You gonna tell your kids you defeated a monster or what? You know they are going to ask about this eye."

"Nin that is brilliant! That is exactly what I am going to tell them. Though they are old enough now I'm not sure they will believe me." He made a face. "I miss back when they would believe everything we said like gospel."
Those were the days. "Well the more the merrier, the next one will believe me too, until the others chime in."
He loved having a big family, he was never lonely now and he thrived.

She was often the source of his fantastic plans, she took it in good stead. The man was only truly cunning when it came to beasts not kids. Kina could give him a run for his money by herself. Nin was so proud of her.
Each child had their own special strengths and weaknesses. It made her happy to watch them grow up and become more and more the person they would be.
She was so excited to have the next one bring just as much joy.

He held the cloth to his eye and sighed at the peaceful feeling. Nin usually brought that feeling with her. It was fifty fifty who Thallassa would pick to snuggle when he had nightmares. It was because Nin was just as awesome as he was and at times could be even scarier and he loved her for it. No other woman could have matched him but this serious water girl.
She definitely had a healing touch and he was often in need of it. She did say that she liked his scars though so there was that.
"I hate waiting."

"I know, just be grateful its not you that gets to waddle around for the last three months. I get so hungry it feels like im always eating..weird things."
She tried her best with the cravings but they were what they were. Sometimes she couldn't help it and Kiyelt had to go scrounging for things at really weird hours. But she liked that about being pregnant, she had been so spoiled the last time.
The good times were just getting started!

"I have to admit that the squid surprised even me. How you ate that covered in peanut butter I will never know." He shuddered at the thought. At least he was a decent cook and could help out the rest of the family while Nin did her thing.
"That roast fish you make though is really good and you could eat it just fine. I wouldn't risk that squid again...it looked squishy and suspicious."
Where he was from fish were just fish not whatever squid were. Ew. Nin seemed to like them on everything when she was pregnant and he was not a fan.

"I honestly don't know how I did that either. Maybe it will be different cravings this time, I swear the squid was Thallassa, have you seen him eat them roasted? He ate them all once and couldn't move all day."
Boys were different. Boys could be randomly difficult in the cutest ways it was most disarming. You expected it from girls but well Thallassa really had the key to her heart in his little hand..though they were not so little anymore.
She was so proud of her brood and she was going to get broody again.

The boy did like squid. "Do you really think he could do that from within the womb, like influence what you want to eat? Who is controlling what when you are pregnant and why does not of it make sense?"
Females were such mysteries that no male could ever fully comprehend. So he just rolled with the punches.
"Maybe they will like carrots this time, at least that wouldnt be so hard to cook."
