Prompt 5: Though Destiny City is a busy metropolis, dense forests encircle the city. It's uncommon for wildlife to wander into the city--especially larger creatures--but something is making its mark on Destiny City. Large footprints, humanlike but far too large to belong to any ordinary human, are appearing around Destiny City. They always lead to the woods, and back again--and the strange part is that no one seems to be able to see what has caused them. Cameras distort, and anyone who thinks they've come into contact with the creature can only make out a thick, white fur and something easily nine feet tall. Oddly enough, any surface near the tracks are covered in a sheet of ice, as though whatever passed close to them was so cold it left a frosty trail.
"Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to find some random mythological beast and get to the bottom of how it keeps showing up." Namielle uttered as she padded through the street. The stores had closed by now and for the most part the world was silent. It was the perfect time for her to do some sleuthing in an attempt to provide assistance to an otherwise curious senshi. Granted, they'd gotten this tip off while he was working and Regula had been forced to reassure the woman that the festive period always seemed to play with people's heads, but he had been adamant that as he wandered around the building he had seen it too.
Curiously, the security cameras had broken as the 'thing' had approached. While he was prepared to acknowledge it was a prank, he had still asked Namielle to investigate it more thoroughly and put some of that Mauvian technical expertise to use. Oi, it seemed that this festive period she was so much busier than she normally was and she wasn't entirely in favour of it. Perhaps if it had been warmer and she wasn't shivering her little toes off she would have been more favourable towards the task, but it was what it was and she had best get to work.
She knew why they needed to work this out sooner rather than later anyway. Ever since that time when they had been hauled into an unseen world for weeks a certain someone hadn't been inclined to take chances. All risks and threats no matter how small needed to be investigated and if the something was amiss then that meant they could get ahead of it and counter it. For that reason it was particularly important for her to access whether the thing was real, if it wasn't real why did it keep showing up (magic obviously), and finally... did that magic pose any significant risk to those around it. Once she know the answer to these three key queries she could then propose solutions and they could take action based on that.
Frankly, from a practical point of view, finding a way to dissuade people from entering the area was probably going to be the easiest but how she could do that without causing haov during the commercial hours was something she would need to consider. Alas, she'd cross that bridge when she came to it. For the time being it was more important for her to focus on the locations she had been given.
A scan here.
A scan there.
As the minutes turned into an hour it was safe to say that nothing was completely amiss. There were no blips nearby that sent any of her own little devices haywire and it was safe to say that if something had been here, it wasn't anymore. Or rather it hadn't been. Perhaps it was her very presence that had summoned something but out of the corner of her eye she saw something flicker and looked up. She wasn't greeted by any beasts, instead her eyes fell on the once stable security footage on the screen of the shop front, a screen that was now filled with static and the image of something large and blurring making its way passed.
So that was what he meant.
She peered at her own little device, one that functioned as no more than a little screen on her communicator and shook her head. Despite the interference on the security screen it didn't seem to have tripped anything alarming on her side. How bizarre, yet perhaps it wasn't that bizarre at all. When the figure had finally 'gone' from the screen the image returned to normal and it was with a raised brow that the Mauvian padded towards the scene of the 'crime'. Nothing was amiss save for the massive footprints that she was soon greeted with, yet even as she stood there in relative silence she heard no 'crunches' that would indicate something this big was nearby.
Another sigh.
With no technical explanation forthcoming she did have to err on the side of 'magic', an observation that she knew wouldn't be appreciated. Not only did it provide no solid explanation, it made countering it so much more complex and on many occasions, the antics of this city's magics couldn't be countered. With that in mind she conceded that perhaps she would need to map out several locations and assess the similarities before supplying any further advice. Urgent as it might have been to the senshi she needed to ensure she reviewed everything first, if there was an answer to be had she'd give it, but it was better not to do things half assed.
On a more positive note it did mean she could head home in to the warmth to investigate further sightings so there was that, it just meant that she was destined to spend several more days out here pursuing an unseen 'Yeti' across the city...Not exactly her idea of fun but she'd manage.
That in mind, the feline shook her head at the large prints and began to pad away.
