Prompt 1: Destiny City has its fair share of infestations--rats, youma, seasonal monsters...There's no shortage of unpleasantries. But, for the first time in a while, there's a pleasant sort of infestation: along with the winter chill and a steady stream of snow, it seems like a herd of small, fluffy white rabbits have overrun the city. They aren't menacing or evil, they're just everywhere. They seem strangely domesticated; they are sweet, curious, and friendly creatures that will eat anything you give them. They always seem cold to the touch, and when they shake, little snowflakes sprinkle off of them. They can show up just about anywhere, either alone or--often--in pairs. They tend to wander off on their own but they seem to appreciate anything warm and will cuddle up to steal body heat.

She couldn't quite put her paw on it, but for the last few days she couldn't help but feel as though she was being watched. Day after day she had wandered outside to pick up her food, only to have the ripple of minor anxiety creep up her neck. She was being watched again and at one stage she had become genuinely concerned. It was only when she had voiced her concerns to one particular man that she had, at first, received a rather deadpan reply regarding rabbits. It wasn't that he hadn't believed her, but there was something about the way his remark had been delivered that had given her pause for thought.

...It was a little difficult not to feel watched when there were rabbits everywhere and their beady little eyes peered at you from every corner, every ditch, and from under every bush. How had it been that she hadn't ever noticed them before? She couldn't be that oblivious, surely?

Then again, when it came to the more serious elements of her 'job', she only seemed to be at attention when she sensed something and given she hadn't necessarily sensed anything there had been no reason for her to be on guard. That being said, her ability to completely dismiss everything and anything around her with such ease was something she should probably be concerned about in a city like this one. Just because she didn't sense anyone didn't mean there wasn't anyone dangerous around and it was smart to be aware of one's surroundings. Consequently she made a promise to herself that she would endeavour to pay attention.

First challenge?

Spot the rabbit.

It was not a hard challenge. Particularly now that she knew what to look for the Mauvian conceded that she had beyond oblivious in this respect. There had been no exageration, these fluffy little companions were everywhere. Often in pairs, they did seem to linger and their gazes did seem to follow her with every paw step. They didn't seem dangerous (another remark she'd received in passing), but this certainly cleared up why she was being watched. In time she drew to a halt, taking a seat in front of one pair of rabbits to examine them more closely. They had appeared out of nowhere so it stood to reason that this was yet more of the city's magic, but what did they do.

Nothing was the answer to that.

A shiver here and there from her present company sent small snow flakes towards the ground, but beyond that, they didn't seem to do much at all. One thing she could observe though was that they were relatively brave, sure enough in themselves to creep forward to examine her and briefly reach out to bop their noses against her fur. If they were cold she wasn't aware of it, one of the many blessings of a warm coat like her's, but she did have to concede that they were rather cute in their own right.

Nevertheless she was only of limited entertainment to them and they sooner wandered off again in search of something more interesting. Not that she blamed them, she hadn't come out expecting to entertain, but at least she had settled upon some small things. The first was that she really did have to pay more attention to her surroundings if she was missing that many obvious new additions to the city, but the second was that she was safe. The anxiety she had felt on this occasion was probably unwarranted but she would take it as a convenient sign to be more mindful in future.

For now though...it was cold, and given she was rather inclined towards her home comforts she soon wandered back inside again...
