Hey everyone what do you think is a great jazz bass or jazz bass brand?

Hmmm, Fender comes to mind since they kind of pioneered them but besides them I'd say maybe Warwick or Hofner.

Kind of surprised to see the Fender reccomendations, I remember when bass players used to swear by Squier and say that actual Fender ones were inferior...

I only have a wash urn and it works fine when I tune it correctly.

Blah, I've never liked Squier, always just felt cheaply made to me. Don't even like their sound that much, have to do a lot of tweaking to make one sound decent.

Ill give Squier credit ware credit is due...For the price you pay for a guitar or bass, amp, cord, strap, picks, book, tuner...its a damn good guitar...I remeber my first guitar, it was a squire strat...came in the 'strat pack'. Put me down about...200 bucks...Its not a half bad guitar. It has its flaws...Such as it goes out of tune farily easy, its pickups/electrionics arnt as good, ect...But its not a bad axe bye fair...s**t..ive hade mine for 5 years...Ive moved up to a amerecan made strat from there...the squire is still being rocked out bye my girlfriend.

Yeah, I bought a Squier strat a while back from a pawn shop for like $100, had to change the pick-ups and tuners ASAP though.

Depends on the fender you buy. You want quality you'll pay for it.
