Hopping out of my burrow I was greeted by a couple of white butterfly's the danced to some unheard song. This was a peaceful past time of mine but my tummy grred and scared them away. "Would you settle down." I scolded but it was not like it had a mind to manager. Rolling my eyes at myself I hoped over to nice patch of greens though not the most tasty it would hold my tummy over until I could find it a sweeter treat.
As I sat an ate I watched the world around me so much had changed from winter to spring. It was my favorite time of year really and not just because of the chance of early berries. Giggling at my daydreaming self I finished my breakfast and cleaned my face. The greens tended to leave a stain and I really could not have that. Has I went to move away for the patch my paw struck something hard and sent me tumbling to the ground.
*Thud* My bottom land flate with the rather a hard manner I do not wish to discrib but trust me it hurt. "What the...Who in the...?" I was unable to fully form the words as I was both shocked and angry. But as I looked for the one responsible I found no hop around. "Well then what could have that been?" I though out loud after all no one was around to hear me.
Searching the ground I sniffed and scratched looking to see what could have knocked me down. I mean I am not a big hop, in fact I am a dwarf hop so I am a very small hop so it would not take much but still what would be so mean as to knock me over.
After a moment or two I finally found what I thought to be the cause of my misstep. A pal grey stone of some kind. It took a moment of two more to dig it up and even after I have to find water to wash way the dirt but once I had I knew what it was that I had. "Oooohhhh....my...God......" I said in a gasp. How in the world had I just found this or did it find me. I had heard stories of this...this offering stone but never had I see one in real life. "Can it really be?" I wondered but really the tell tell shade was clearly a hop so it must be. "You know there is one clear way to find out." My muse finally wakes up with his ever so helpful advice. But he was truely right in this moment and the walk was not to far. "Well I guess I am going to the Nymph Pool today."
Looking to the sky I check for any signs of bad weather and happy see only blue. It would be a great day to give an offering if for no other reason then to give thanks for the spring. As I walked to the pool I tried to remember the stories I had heard about what an offering stone might bring for hop but could not think of anything. As approached the waters still nothing came to me do with a shrug I cased the thoughts away.
"Well hello...umm...whoever God I guess." *Clears throat* "Anywho I have come to offer this offering stone I had just found today. And to give thanks for the wonderful spring morning today." Berri was not sure this was how it was done but he was doing his best. "Oh and if this spring could have many many berries this year I would be most grateful." He was pretty sure that was kind of a wish and that the Nymph Pool did not grant wishes but heck it could not hurt right. Clearing his throat once more he bowed to the pool leaving his newly found and newly give stone by the waters. "Really if nothing else comes of today at least the sky was blue." He said with a smile until his tummy grred in reminder that he still wanted his berries. That made Berri laugh at his forgetful self and what the strange offering stone might bring.
