Personality: Vivian is a literal doormat. She’s very passive and just kind of does what other people say without much thought as to why. She thinks very poorly of herself because of how she was treated in the past and not being told otherwise. She’s also a klutz and will often drop things or trip over nothing.
Bio: Vivian grew up poor but happy. Her parents worked hard to provide for her and taught her the value of hard work. She took that lesson to heart. She studied at the free schools available and made sure to get good grades. The family was happy, not wealthy, but happy.
Then the dark wizards came.
Without warning, they invaded the home on a rampage, looking for anything or anyone to kill. Her mother hid her in the closet and told her not to move. Peering through the slats in the closet, she witnessed her Fathers’ murder, her Mother being raped and strangled, and the destruction of the home. The closet even caved in on her the damage was so severe. After a few hours unconscious, she awoke and struggled with the debris. She found everything gone, destroyed. She was alone and covered in her father’s blood, crying her eyes out. She never was the same after that.
Having no living relatives, Vivian was sent to an orphanage where she became a recluse. The only time she’d come out of her room would be to eat and use the facilities. She found comfort in books and the worlds they took her to. The stories they would tell distracted her from the terrible reality that she was in. During school, she would talk and always had a book with her. The other kids started to bully her because she didn’t talk. But she always studied hard and got good grades. Even if she had no friends, she had books, and that was enough.
Over the years, Vivian got extremely good at poetry. She weaves poems that were moving and profound, with symbolism that touched the hearts of many. However, not wanting the extra attention, she hesitated on publishing anything. Until her editor had an idea, an alias. She created “Penwick” a confident strong brunette woman who was inspired by the world around her to create her art. With Penwick, she felt safer to write more and published two poetry novels under the alias.
Dating was never really a thought for Vivian until she met a man named Eric, who took her in and swept her off her feet. She was entranced, having this be her first love and all. She worked odd jobs and he worked as an advisor to high ranked families. However, after proposing to her 2 days earlier, she found him in bed with 2 other women. He’s been cheating on her the entire relationship. She was heartbroken and was kicked out. Needing a new job and home, she happened to land a job with the college as a simple librarian.

Driven - Despite everything, she doesn't like to give up. She'll keep trying things until it's pretty much impossible for her to achieve a goal.
Optimistic - Even in the worst of times, she'll try and think optimistically. For herself and other people.
Library Knowledge - She knows where just about everything is, and if she can't use a spell to find it, she can use the card system and or her know memory to find what a student is looking for.
Calm Demeanor - She's a pretty calm person when in the right mood. And she tends to calm the people around her.
Weakness:
Clumsy - She will trip and fall or drop something a lot of the time. She can't help it.
Passive - When there is a discussion or an argument, Vivian tends to shut down. She doesn't do well with conflict much.
Mentally Weak - Though Driven, she can break mentally if beaten down enough. She does have pretty bad self-esteem issues and it affects her day-to-day life.
Hysterical - When something is going on or something is happening, Vivian will become hysterical and not be able to calm down until she's had time to compose herself.
