I was curious as to whether or not anyone else had read anything by Frank McCourt. I've just completed his first memoir, Angela's Ashes, and absolutely loved it.
Have you read any of his works? Did you enjoy them?

I haven't read anything of his that I am aware of, but I have heard good things about Angela's Ashes. An old friend said that I should read it.

It's definately a very good book. I found it quite interesting, considering the fact that it's a memoir, as well.

I've read Angela's Ashes and 'Tis, the sequel. They are two of my favorite books. Everything in them was so real and so understandable. His writing style was quite unique too.

Yes, I too enjoyed his writing style. It's so free, laid-back and real! Unlike many of the formal, up tight voices we hear in so many authors today.

Yes, I have read "Angela's ashes" and "A new world"and enjoyed them very much. A touching story telling parts from the poor districts in Ireland without going too much over boards(like Mikael Niemi, "Popular Music from Vittula").

I didn't like the second book as much, but it was still intresting to see how things went afetr returning to America.

Next up when I am finished with "Dreamcatcher" I will start reading the third book. whee

I had to read Angela's Ashes for a literature class I'm taking this semester. We're doing a unit on memiors, and this was the second one we read. I find his writing style to be very interesting.

I've read Angela's Ashes and adored it. I find it amazing that, even when discussing the most depressing subject matter, there's a light hearted and almost optimistic tone that is always present.
