Prompt 2: The downside to an army of little bunnies is that they burrow. There are holes peppering Destiny City, and with the fresh fallen snow it can be impossible to tell where they are hiding. The holes range from small holes to several feet deep, so can be a minor inconvenience to a potential hazard. On the bright side, sometimes you wind up covered in bunnies looking for warmth from their sudden guest. On the other hand, there are a rising number of trips to the hospital for twists and sprains.

"Seriously, how many is that now?" Regula watched as his partner's head smacked back against the headrest of the passenger seat and he shook his head. They were on patrol and whether they liked it or not they were on that irritating, middle shift. You know, that one where you come in just late enough in the day and leave late enough at night to get very little done in between? Suffice to say that neither of them were particularly happy with the arrangement but it had been made all the worse by several events.

The start of the week had been uneventful but as the evenings had drawn on things had taken a turn for the worse.

They'd received more calls than they cared to admit for 'missing' people who had fallen down hidden holes. There had also been those stranded in the cold, having taken a tumble and twisting an ankle...and now they were receiving a sudden uptick in reports of pot holes. Vincent may not necessarily have put the two things together, but Regula had already begun to suspect that the largely harmless and very fluffy visitors were likely to be the cause. After all, he knew bunnies were inclined to burrow and it stood to reason that the proper holes were as a result of them being able to burrow the hole way in to the ground whereas those on the road were likely just a sorry story of a bunny locating a questionnable part of the road that had already been suffering from wear and tear.

"They really should consider teaching this in school," Regula murmured as he started the car and began to make his way towards the call out. He was moving carefully of course, it was hardly a blue light run in terms of priority and it wouldn't be good for anyone if they blew out their tyres as well due to yet another pothole.

"Teach what?"

"How to change a tyre," He replied without looking over. Quite frankly he would have been more concerned about the changeable weather and snow on most evenings like this, but the increased number of damage wheel rims and tyres were adding another element of concern. Slipping around on ice and wet snow were certainly dangerous, but slipping around on them without a reliable set of intact wheels added another element of risk to it.

How many people could honestly say they could comfortably drive in ice and snow to begin with? He'd watched far too many people do unusual things trying to get down (and up) the steeper hill near his own home to know that common sense rarely prevailed. Throw in these little pot holes and he could only imagine the chaos that could ensue if they didn't get it under control. That being said the exposure of these potholes was probably a blessing in disguise and would force the city to fix them now that it was very obvious they were there.

He just wished that it had been done in a way, or at a time, when there weren't added risks on the road.

"Or they could just call road side assistance rather than us..." Vincent muttered.

"They could, but it isn't as if we were doing anything better anyway," Regula agreed with a half smile. "You'll get to be a hero again," he finished. He heard the snort but elected not to tease further, they had a call to get to and it would be bad form to keep the person waiting!
