After getting home and crying to her dad about getting dirty and soaked because some boy was a brat Kina managed to get washed up and moderately calmed down. Now she sat with a cloth wrapped around her hair to help it dry while in her pajamas.
She made sure to have her brush and other things handy, as well as the hairpin she'd gotten for her sister, before she called out. "Honi? Come here I have something for you." She hoped her sister would like what she'd gotten and she had an idea for a new style for Honi's hair as well.

Honi couldn't help overhearing part of her sister's tale of woe. Some boy had been mean! To help, she had gone outside to pick some flowers for Kina. By the time she had a good handful of the prettiest ones, she was surprised to hear Kina calling. Something for her? "I have something for you, too," she called back, hurrying to follow the voice. Reaching Kina, she grinned and held up the bouquet. "Here you go!"

She heard that her sister said she had something as well and instantly she looked curious. A small tilts of her head and a gathering of her brows showed that when Honi walked in. Instantly her eyes went to the flowers and she smiled. "You got all my favorite colors." Kina was more than pleased about that. She quickly looked around to see if she could find a place for the flowers to go. She saw a small pitcher and decided that would do for now. Pointing to it she sat up a bit straighter. "Put them in that for now? I can ask mom for a vase later. For now.." She gave a pat to the space in front of her. "Come sit so I can show you."

Pleased with Kina's reaction, Honi practically skipped over to carefully slip the flowers into the indicated vase. "They'll be nice there for now," she approved. Temporary, but nice. Brow lifting with intrigue, she skipped back and dropped in front of Kina. "What is it?" she asked, practically wiggling with anticipation.

Once her sister was seated she grabbed the hairpin off the floor beside her and hesitated for a moment. Kina rarely showed her insecurities but in this moment she really worried that Honi might not like the hair piece she'd gone through so much trouble for. The moment passed quickly and she showed it off. "I got this for you. What do you think? Want me to put it in your hair? I have an idea for a new style." She knew her sister chose the simple ponytail so that she wouldn't have to spend so much time on it but Kina didn't mind. She might be a snob but she liked making sure her siblings looked amazing.

Aww, Kina was so cute when she was being shy! Then the hairpin was revealed, and Honi let out a squeak of delight. "For me? It's so pretty! " She leaned in for a closer look, smile growing brighter. "Okay! Once it's in though, you can't change your mind and take it for yourself," she teased playfully, turning to sit and present her hair. After all, she was always willing to share with her sister.

A wave of relief came over her when Honi showed she liked the hairpin. Kina smiled brightly at the acceptance and even seemed a little smug that she got something that her sister liked. Being told she couldn't take it back had her shaking her head. "I won't. This is just for you. Not for sharing." There was a lot of stuff she and her two siblings shared but there was also things that they didn't. Nykinae wanted this hairpin to be all for Honi. With her sister's hair presented she got to work taking the ponytail out and working a brush through it gently so avoid any knots. "I'm glad you like it. I was really worried you might not." It wasn't gaudy so she hadn't been concerned about that. Kina had been worried that maybe her sister wouldn't like the color or design.

She wouldn't have to share it? Honi silently squealed with delight. Sharing was fun, but there was a certain pleasure in having something that was just for her. She found herself relaxing as her hair was tended to. Outside of it being a rushed situation, getting her hair brushed was such a soothing treat. "Mmm, nah. You have such a good eye for pretty things," she cooed contently. "I'll have to make you one that looks similar and we can wear them at the same time!"

A sense of superior satisfaction went through her at being told she had a good eye for these things. Kina loved those types of compliments more than the typical 'you're so pretty' ones she got from other kids. As she brushed she heard her sister say she would make a similar one. A small bop to the head was given. "No. This is special and only for you. If you want us to match then we can get bracelets." Kina smiled as she spoke. She liked the thought but she wanted Honi to have something that was all for her. Not a match to something else. It would give her sister that sense of independence rather than one of a set. Being a set was nice but one had to admire the individual too. And Kina believed that each of her siblings was awesome in their own way.

The light bop brought up a giggle. "Okay, I won't," she assured. It was quite a pleasant feeling... Still, now she really wanted to make something for her sister. Something just as special! Or, maybe she would make the matching bracelets. Whatever it was, it would have to live up to their high standards! "Why did you pick this one?"

Pleased that she had her sister's agreement she went back to brushing Honi's hair so that it was tangle free. Just as she finished that she was asked why she picked the hairpin. Kina started to gather her sister's hair and part it as she answered. "Because as I was passing by it stood out to me. It's super cute just like you are. And my adorable sister deserves something pretty to make the other girls jealous." She was a firm believer that her siblings were the best looking of all the kids and wanted to show them off all the time.

Perhaps she should have been used to it by now, but the compliment still managed to make Honi's cheeks warm happily. The sentiments never got old, and were always appreciated. "They're already jealous because I have the best sister," she said confidently. Truly, she was so lucky to have such a sister as Nykinae! "Can I watch you do your hair after you're done with mine?"

She took her time in styling Honi's hair. She wanted to get it just right so that it was super pretty. "This is true, I am the best sister but they can't have me. I belong to you and Thal." She grinned cheekily at that. Kina could care less about the other kids. If they fell and got hurt she didn't even glance their way, if they started to cry she didn't bat an eye, if they wanted or needed something she was not the one to ask. But when it came to Honi and Thal she paid attention and made sure they were safe, happy, and well cared for. She paused in her styling to lean to the side and look at her sister. "Sure, I don't mind but I'm just going to brush it so it dries out straight." There wasn't much to be done with her hair when it was wet.

"Yep! All ours!" Honi giggled lightly. Kina was always so confident and cool! She was determined to have her sister's back, just as much as she knew Kina had hers. That was what siblings were for! She had long ago learned to sit still while her hair was being styled, and she had to fight the urge to look over. Only brushing..? "Maybe... could I brush it for you?" she asked as sweetly as possible.

With the qyestion about her hair she blinked a few times then nodded. "Sure. That sounds really nice." Usually she did her own hair and took pride in it but this time she decided letting Honi do it would be fun.
She finished putting her sister's hair up and added the hairpin to it. Kina took a second to position it just right, her tongue coming out with the concentration and effort. Once it was done she smiled. "There. Perfect." She quickly grabbed the handheld mirror from the floor and offered it to Honi. "What do you think?" It wasn't super fancy but it was more intricate than a simple ponytail and it had the added flair of the hairpin.
