It was not the first time in his life he’d been this tired, he was at least pretty sure of that, but he’d be lying if he didn’t admit that he felt like he’d been run over by a car. Opening his eyes felt like lifting blocks of concrete. He groaned, head throbbing, and forced himself to open his eyes, feeling at least somewhat blessed to be in pain, it meant he hadn’t killed himself trying to save someone he didn’t know from Adam. He forced his eyes open despite the weight of them, never mind how heavy the rest of his limbs felt, it was a damn good thing he was already done with work for the day. If you’d handed him a pot he’d have tipped over and probably cooked himself with the contents. “Hi, boss…. Sorry to drop in like this.” he quipped as best he could, before realizing… he wasn’t sure if he had his housemates worried or not.

Cavansite had been sitting in her office, looking over the menu for a chain pizza restaurant and sighing, wondering if she should order something. She was craving melted cheese like nobody’s business. The general had just pulled up the ordering screen when suddenly there were two people in her office. A lieutenant who looked pale and quite worse for wear, and Parisite, looking as though he were going to pass out and just...never wake up again.
Getting up, Cavansite moved over to the two and scooped Parasite onto the couch, drawing a blanket around him. “What the hell happened? Who’s this kid? You…” Pride and warm affection crept into her voice, taking over the worry for just a moment. “...You teleported here with him? I’m very surprised that you’re still conscious. I’m so proud of you.” Quickly, she placed a kiss on his forehead and then went to tend to the unconscious lieutenant, putting him on her chair and looking at the developing bruises on his neck, her face pulling into a scowl. Checking to make sure he was still breathing, Cavaniste looked back to her Captain for a moment, scowling even more furiously.
“...Who the ******** did this? He’s just a kid.”

“I…make no promises on continuing in a conscious state.” He murmured managing against all odds to lift a hand with the intent of putting it over his eyes. He was so tired even the dimmer lighting here hurt his head. He managed to…mostly not slap himself in the face. He cursed quietly, he’d been doing a lot of cursing lately, more than he had in a while but it was familiar enough to do, easy enough to trip off the tongue. “Remember…the b*****d who tried to strangle me? Yeah….” He paused a moment feeling the room sway dangerously under him, like an awful teeter-totter of exhaustion. “He uh… Broke someone’s neck… They were on the ground. Like….wrong angle sort of broken. I can describe him, but…he’s not giving a report any time soon, fancy uniform, all bits, and bobs.” He turned his head and waited till the world stopped sliding for a moment before adding. “I cut the ******** though… damn happy for the knives. I think he’s out to break MY neck next though.”

Cavansite glanced around and grabbed a small blanket from the edge of the couch, folding it into a small square and placing it over Parisite’s eyes. “...He killed someone? You’re sure? I...I will need a report when you’re able. I’ll send an alert to go and retrieve the body...but, you’re safe now, Parasite. You’re safe and this lieutenant is safe too...you...do you think that was his superior officer?”
Her mind wawa working swiftly, already planning a note to send to Axinite. If someone was murdering agents...he would have to be told. Something would have to be done about it. “I’m so glad that you’re alive.” Her voice held the same, relieved tone that Sterling had for Priam, a deep, thankfulness that held far more emotion that she normally would have shown.
“I’m glad that you had the knives. That you were able to defend yourself a little better. Ah. I tell you, If I ever find this b*****d. I’ll take out his starseed and wear it proudly, that’s for damn sure. How dare he try to hurt my family again.”
Her hand was trembling as she stroked back his hair, and Cavansite drew in a deep breath, trying to regain some sort of sense of calm. “Did you wound him good enough that he might not survive it…? That would be fantastic if it were the case…”

“Probably? He seemed pretty confused.” He admitted. He took a moment and then started listing all the details he could remember of the uniform and where they had been. Poor b*****d, imagine being in the middle of recruiting, and then someone snapped your neck. “I’m glad that didn’t…happen to you when you turned up that night.” He added. “And…no… I got his arm; he’s probably down for a bit; he’ll absolutely need stitches. I tried …here.” He put his fingers near his hip. “Center mass, best angle I could get… but I jammed off his hip bone. At best, if I’m lucky, he’s cocky and won’t get help.” He shuddered; aiming to kill wasn’t something that he could say rose to the top of his list, but he had. He wanted to defend himself and the lieutenant. There was nothing wrong with that, he told himself; he wondered, though, if he wasn’t rather calm about it in the end. Maybe it was how tired he was from the dogs… Or maybe it was just his life.. it wasn’t the first time He’d brought out blades. It had just been some time… and this time, he wasn’t worried about cops. Strange feeling, really. “If I get the jump on him, I’ll bring you his star seed myself. Not my favorite, though, but Jesus… He pushed the blanket back to look at her; tired as he was, he wanted to give her that. “Sorry, I think you said something about not…trying to jump with someone else, but… At least I know why now?” He gave her an exhausted smile.

“I’m glad that it didn’t happen too...but, I wouldn’t have been so irresponsible.” Cavansite looked down at him and stroked his cheek softly. “At least you got him away from this boy. You’re a hero, you know. My brave little Parisite.” She smiled at the male, pride in her eyes. “You know, he’ll need guidance. If you’re feeling up to it, you should take over his training. I can still be his General, but he can serve under you…if you think that you’re up to keeping him on the right path. Seeing he meets his quotas and…”
Her eyes flickered back to the Lieutenant. “And seeing that he can defend himself...I think you’d be good at this.”
Cavansite sighed softly and smoothed back Parisite’s hair. “...I’m glad that you didn’t end up killing yourself with teleporting him. I’m very surprised that you are still talking to me right now, to be honest. Please, wait a while, practice first before teleporting with someone again, okay? Practice teleporting yourself first. Build up some stamina. I swear, Parasite, if I ever lose you, I will just.”
She hesitated and blew out a breath. “...I would be very upset.”

“I promise, I’ve no plan to do that s**t again ANY time soon.” He promised. At best he might consider it in an emergency. Like it she were in trouble... or... he pushed the thoughts away. His gaze flicked to the little Buttler. “You sure?” He asked cautiously. To trust him to take care of more people, to teach them. It hadn’t done Priam much good- “I’ll do my best... we’ll make you proud. But... what the heck do I call I’m?”

Cavansite nodded and smiled a little before looking once again at the lieutenant. “Of course I’m sure. He’ll have the most competent Captain in the whole place.” Perhaps that was stretching the truth a little, but it was the truth in her heart. Not that Wolframite wasn’t competent too...he just wasn’t hers to be proud of.
“...Call him...hm.” The General’s eyes narrowed as she watched the still unconscious male. “...Gismondine. That will be his name in the Negaverse. As for his real name...I have no idea. I’ve never seen the kid before, goofball.” Her attention moved once more back to Yu and she laughed softly. “...You’ll figure it out. You’ll figure all of this out. And when you’re feeling a little better, I want you to put a report on this senshi in the database. He needs to be warned about, especially if he’s killed. He needs to be stopped before it happens again.”
And there was no way in Hell she would allow Parisite to be the one to stop him, especially not if he already had a target on his back. Or, his neck, to be honest.

“I suppose there is no way to swap names with him?” He teased with a grin, as tired as he was. “I’m sure you have better, but I appreciate it, and I’ll do my best, and I’ll work out a report. No one else needs that pie seasoning b*****d putting his hands around their throat.” He sighed and twisted to look at ‘the kid’. “Poor sod gets a rough start. He swung an arm out to poke at his shoulder, trying to rouse the kid. “Hey... hey! Wake up, your gonna want to ice that neck, trust me.”

Cavansite chuckled softly, shaking her head. “Your name is yours, my little Parisite. I like your name.” Giving him a soft kiss on the forehead, she moved to the small fridge she kept, rummaging for one of the ice packs that she kept in the freezer compartment. Gismondine gave a low groan of pain, finally realizing that the voices in the room were real...and that he wasn’t dead...maybe. He didn’t think that...being dead would hurt so much. “Wh..what’s going on…?” He rasped, opening eyes that looked utterly and completely exhausted. “...What...what h-happened…?”
He didn’t know where he was. This wasn’t his home. This wasn’t Xander’s home. This...this wasn’t anywhere that he had ever been...or even...anywhere that he might have imagined. It couldn’t be a dream...a messed up, confusing nightmare...
No...he had been walking...and someone had...someone had…
The lieutenant rubbed at his chest, still feeling the ghost of the pain that had wracked his body. It had been horrible but…
Then the man had been killed...and there were hands around his own neck, squeezing…
For a long moment, Gismondine stared straight ahead, and then began to tremble. “Who...who are you people...I don’t...I...Where a-are we?” He was about a minute away from crying, his vision growing blurry from tears this time, rather than lack of oxygen.

“Ah, s**t.” Yu pushed himself up thought that made things spin and tilt for a moment, it’d been some time since he was this bone weary but all the same. “Hey! Hey... it’s ok! I saved you, crazy ******** who was trying to strange you can’t get to you here. You got recruited to...” He paused for a moment holding up a finger while things spun a moment. “Hoooboy...” he muttered “******** that really takes it out of you, doesn’t it.... uh. Yeah, you know the reports of costumed people? You got recruited. It’s like being a super hero but someone else picks your name.” He pointed to Cavansite. “Her in this case since I think your recruiter uh... died. You’re Gismondine when you’re in uniform. I’ll be teaching you the ropes I guess. How’s the neck?”

“G-gismondine…? B-but I’m Nelson…” He swallowed, the tears finally slipping down his face. “...I’m so-sorry...I...I’m still confused...I...My neck hurts...I…” A super hero? Did he...even want such a thing? He hadn’t asked for it...all he wanted to do was look in a few decorated windows...to try to soothe his aching heart...but…
At least now he couldn't feel the pain in his heart...the pain in his neck was much too strong to even think of his little heartbreak. “...I don’t...don’t want to...be a super hero I...I’m not...I...I’m just N-nelson...I don’t understand…”
This guy seemed friendly at least...and if he had really saved him, then obviously Nelson owed him his life and...that wasn’t something he could simply ignore. “...You...you’ll teach me? I...I’ll be awful at it. I...I’m not brave or s-strong at all. I’m studying to be a doctor but...even that…” He shrugged, looking away, embarrassed.
After a moment, he coughed, wincing and reaching to try to rub his neck, hissing as he touched it. “...Ow.”
An ice pack was pressed into his hand by the woman, and the lieutenant held it against his neck, muttering a soft thank you as Cavansite went back to her desk to sit down, drawing out her tablet as she did so.

Parisite glanced helplessly at Cavansite for a moment. This ‘Nelson’ was hardly what he would have sought out if someone asked him. “Nelson, Gosmondine.... you can’t be Nelson when you’re in Uniform, you don’t want people like the guy who tried to strange you to get back to people you care about.” The thought tickles something in the back of his head, Priam... but it was an impossible thought. “Think of it like this, people you care about, you can protect them now. ********, great power and great responsibility and all that. You had a s**t introduction but you’re part of this now. You get an awesome General too... she’s got our backs.” “Look, my name in Uniform is Parisite, b*****d who tried to kill you tried that to me too, and I’m not letting him do that again if I can help it when? Not to either of us. Jack of all trades master of nothing else but getting by, which means staying alive. I’ve ******** got your back man.” He put a hand on the kids shoulder and sighed. “I’m s**t at this.” He sighed.

Nelson...no, Gismondine paled at the thought of that man going after Xander...or Q...or anyone. “...S-so...I have...to be G-gismondine...that...I can p-protect them…” He glanced at the hand on his shoulder and gulped in confusion, still not sure of people right now. There had been too many strange things in the past few hours, and it felt as though he were tugged around and his nerves pulled to almost nothingness.
“Parisite…?” He asked, softly, confused though looked up at the male with eyes that were full of fear. He was unsettled, to say the least. “...I...I appreciate...y-you having my back...you...d-don’t seem like s**t….you...ah...you seem like you…know...know what you’re talking about...he...tried to kill you too?” Nelson swallowed and hesitated. “...Is there any water…?” Cavansite paused and nodded. “Sure, kid. No worries. And we do have your back, and Parisite, he’s right. You do know what you’re talking about, and you’re doing a good job.” She pulled two bottles of water from her fridge, handing them out to both of her agents. “Here, both of you should drink.”

“It’d help yeah… But you can’t let the people you’re protecting know either. That’s risky too…” HE rubbed at his eyes trying to drive down the tired. “Eh…Thanks, Boss.” He offered her a wan smile. “I’m trying, I’m learning from good people after all. As long as you don’t ask me for advice out of uniform you’re in good shape.” He chuckled at his own self-deprecating joke. “Well… maybe cooking, I like cooking. ******** makes more sense than half the rest of the world eh?” “But, seriously Gismondine… Nelson, I’ll teach you the ropes, I’ll teach you how to fight, even how to fight dirty because our weapons start out a bit ah… Improvised.” He hadn’t thought to check if it was plastic cutlery or if it might have half a chance of at least making someone uncomfortable.
