Life had certainly taken an odd turn for Sol. He'd debated bringing it up to Koril , but since the other hybrid had come to town things between them were awkward at best. Some days Sol felt so relaxed around the other man that it was hard to remember he was still in the room and others he was almost painfully aware he was there. In the dark of the night or behind the closed doors of his cabin things seemed to melt away. He didn't think then; it was all the other times that got to him. It was such an adjustment; for years Sol kept all of his secrets so close to his chest that being open about anything was exhausting. It had been hard with his family, sure, but even they had left him alone after a certain point. And now...now Koril was here.
One day Sol happened to overhear his patient discussing an upcoming trip to the hotsprings with his wife. And that got him thinking. Getting information was difficult seeing as the patient was older and loved to talk. A few days ride away from Sol's village, closer to the much grander Zidel, resided a peaceful little manse closer towards the mountains. At one point it had been a winter destination for those wealthy enough to make the trip, but over the years it had become popular enough with locals that it's accessibility had opened considerably. Now anyone who could make the trip was welcomed with open arms. Of course there were much nicer quarters than anything Sol could have afforded, but for the purposes of their trip what he could snag was well enough.
So, he'd brought it up to Koril and now they were here. It was a little strange going by cart and not atop Sev. Not having his raptrix around was an adjustment in itself; knowing she was on her way out of Zena with his sister and her friend was even more of a concern.
The men were met outside by members of staff who led them to their room. Thankfully they didn't stick around long; just enough to point the way towards the hotsprings, tell them when food would be brought around and to deliver fresh robes. Once they were gone Sol finally felt like he could breath. "What's the room look like? Anything I should worry about?"

Koril had spent most of his days working on his book, visiting the local stables and going through the textbooks, illustrating some pages and neatly writing on others. As his resources began to thin, he was surprised to realize that he was dragging his heels. It was getting time to move on, but.. surely extending his stay wouldn't hurt that much, right? There had been a few bumps in the road, some shock to get through, but he was overall enjoying his time reunited with Sol.
To say it was like old times would have been a lie. It was different from before; there was no question of that, and not only because they were staying in one place instead of travelling across Tendaji. Perhaps that was for the best though. He had been such a wide-eyed youth when they had first met. Now he was a mature young man with a little more experience under his belt.
That was why he practically bounced into the room that Sol had reserved for them, a smile on his face as bright and excited as the sun. Not only was he absolutely tickled that Sol had suggested the trip, but being able to spend time with Sol without the animals nosing in and with all work set aside... it pleased him on a level that made his belly flutter with pleasure. After thanking the staff numerous times, he spun a few times to take in the room as requested. "Actually, it's not that different from your house. Plain, but clean. I like it! There's a low table about six feet in front of you with floor cushions instead of chairs. I guess they figure it saves room? .....The cockroach on the ceiling is a nice touch." He launched himself onto the bed and laughed when he bounced on the firm surface. Mature young man... If there had really been a roach crawling around, he certainly would not be playing under it! He rolled onto his belly and let his feet swing in the air. "Thank you, Sol~"

[2/10] Without the staff and the plethora of animals around it was easier to focus on Koril's movements. It was difficult to explain, but Sol just inherently knew where the other man was without having to 'look'. He wasn't sure if it was entirely thanks to his magic or if his alkidike senses helped, but the solo contact tended to ease his nerves. As he set about unpacking his bag he couldn't help smiling; it pleased him more than he would let on that Koril was already so happy with the place. He'd been worried at first that it was too much or that the other man wouldn't want to be away from his creatures, but now...now he knew it was a good call. "I think it's supposed to be easier on the floor. The chairs put added pressure on the foreign wood and I've been told they leave dents." Of course it hadn't started out that way; originally the floors had been entirely stone, but seeing as they were difficult to warm the proprietress had made a few changes over the years. Pausing with his hands burrowed in his bag, Sol lifted his head, antennae flicking back as his brow furrowed. "Oh ha ha, jokes on the blind guy." He laughed, just a little, and tried not to get anxious. There really really wasn't a cockroach, right? Otherwise Koril would have been more worried...right? Yeah, sure. Hearing the sound of an occupied bed prompted Sol to forego his things and to make his way over. If he'd seemed hesitant about finding the edge of the bed Sol was anything but about climbing on top of it. He stretched out on his back beside Koril and wasn't surprised the least when his legs hung over the edge. "You don't have to thank me. The whole time you've been here I've been working, you've been working....I just thought it might be nice for us to relax a little." He turned his head towards Koril and scrunched his nose a little. "Without something trying to steal my dinner."

Koril's brow rose, and he dropped one arm to poke at the floor as though that simple gesture might reveal a squishy material. Of course, it was quite firm as a floor should be. "That makes sense. The price of having a pretty floor." Having grown up in both worlds of barely scraping by and well off, he understood the concept of valuing looks and comfort over longevity. As long as the cushions were comfortable though, it wouldn't really matter.
He cast another look over the ceiling just to make sure his own joke was indeed a joke before shifting to make room on the bed. With a light laugh as Sol's extended frame overtook the bed's length, he rolled until he was pressed up against Sol's side. "It will be nice. I've never been to a place like this, either. "
Oh, the simple idea of the food! "I don't know if I can clear my own plates anymore!" He was so used to sharing his meals with the animals. At least he could be content knowing that they were all being well tended to by the stable they were staying at.

Sol shifted himself just enough to make it more comfortable for Koril. He adjusted his arm to pull the other man closer and turned his hips so that when he turned his head it wouldn't put undo pressure on his neck. It wasn't so much a need to 'see' the other as it was purely habitual and the bonus of being able to get closer with Koril was always nice too.
The overabundance of hair under his cheek was annoying, however. Sol lifted his head, using his chin to shake it off in vain before ultimately settling for his fate. After all, he wasn't even sure if it was his hair or Koril's that was causing the problem!
"What do you want to try first? Eating a meal just for you or the hotsprings?" As he spoke Sol lifted his free hand and ghosted over Koril until he'd found the other man's hip. When he was sure of what he'd discovered Sol passively walked his fingers over the crest of Koril's hip towards his thigh and back again. "Or we could just stay here~"

The spectacle with Sol's hair was observed with a smothered chuckle. Once Sol gave up, Koril raised a hand to encourage Sol's face up in order to brush the pale rogue locks away. Once that was done, he stroked Sol's cheek gently. Lying together like this with the sun still up afforded him the chance to get a deliciously close look at the other man's handsome face. It was also a stark reminder that when their eyes met.. they weren't actually meeting.
He didn't need Sol to see the colors of clothes he wore though. He didn't need his hair style or his eyes to be commented on. Did he want all of that? Well, yeah. He was steadily learning that it wasn't a need in order to enjoy their time together. All he needed was...
The touch to his hip immediately brought up a playful grin that translated into his voice. "Hmm. How am I supposed to pick only one to start? ..Maybe you've already put it in a good order already? Something to eat after that long trip here, relax in the springs, and then we can enjoy this nice room together." Brow rising, he couldn't help another laugh. "No sharing food and no cold noses against our legs to interrupt us later? You're going to have me spoiled by the end of this."

Not being able to fully experience the world around him bothered Sol on a daily basis, but it all came to him in waves. Sometimes they were so small they barely touched his consciousness where as others could be all consuming. Those were the days where he'd hit his knee on a chair a careless apprentice left sitting out or when he tripped over a stone in the road. Days where he would forget the way his parent's looked or the shape of Koril's face...
Today, though, was a better one. He was content, if not a little nervous, but all in a good way. He let his hand settled on the other man's thigh and gently pull him closer. There was a little grin there; one that knew what he was doing could be entirely too distracting and he didn't really care.
"You give me too much credit." He leaned forward enough so that his forehead could touch Koril's. "Getting something to eat sounds nice, but eating it off you sounds better." The hybrid tapped Koril's nose with his own before pulling back a bit. "Maybe I'm just trying to spoil you so much that you won't want to leave." Catching himself, Sol furrowed his brows and seemed to sober. This time he pulled back completely to lay on his back instead of facing the other. "Sorry - I shouldn't have said that."

The gentle pull was met with zero resistance, Koril readily snuggling up to get closer as directed. He let his eyes fall shut contently to savor the intimate contact, fingertips continuing to gloss over Sol's jaw. "Mmm, I guess we could make that happen," he cooed. The idea of Sol's tongue brushing over his skin sent a wonderful shiver down his back, tempting him to just scoot that much closer to close that slim gap that had been made. Sol's words made his belly flutter..
..and then the gap broke open further. Koril blinked with surprise, his hand hovering in the air. He laid silent for a moment, going over the words again in his head. His lips pressed with bashful concern, but he made sure to keep his voice light. "Why not? Worried I might take that idea seriously?"

"A little?" Sol admitted honestly and not without hesitation. He already missed the intimacy between them and it was still there! What would he feel when Koril eventually left? Stop thinking about that now; this is supposed to be a relaxing trip not a depressing one. And yet he couldn't take his mind off it! "Having you here has been...amazing, honestly." The way he admitted it was like having a weight taken off his chest and Sol smiled a little, though it could have been classified as morose. "Part of me wants to be selfish and keep you here forever, but that's not right. You've got your own work, your own life, and it shouldn't end in some little Zenan village."
Instead of curling back up on the bed Sol rose up to sit and run a hand through his thick hair. "But we came to relax, right? I wonder how you go about ordering food in this place..." He turned his head as if the a gateway out of the awkwardness of his own conversation would magically make itself known.

Koril's head cocked in a contemplative gesture. Amazing? Really? He couldn't help a delighted wiggle of his shoulders despite Sol's lackluster smile. Hearing those words flared up a heated joy that spread through his whole body. He sat up and bit onto his lower lip with happy amusement, readily ignoring the conversational sidestep. "Do you mean it?" He gave in to the mini chase, crawling after Sol quickly. He looped his arms over Sol's shoulders and pressed his chest against the other's long back. Sol was so comfy...His nose nuzzled through the sheets of blond hair to brush over the bumps of Sol's spine near his neck. "You want to keep me forever?"

"I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it," He groused, but without any real bite. The fact he was sporting a small grin betrayed any sort of annoyance at the situation. His mind may have been awhirl with thought, but Sol's body was easy enough to relax against Koril. At first he stiffened, not entirely sure what the other hand in store, but when arms settled around him he calmed. Sol raised his hand to place it over one of the arm's looped around his neck and leaned his head back to get as close as he could.
"....If I could...then I would." There had never really been any discussion as to what was next for them. When they were younger whatever this had been was fleeting, and so Sol had assumed this would be too. A few stars in the night passing through a little Zenan cabin before disappearing once more. It hadn't bothered him as much at first; after all, it wasn't like either one of them owed each other anything and yet....

Feeling Sol relax back against him, Koril shifted just enough to offer up the best support he could. "That's true," he replied with a chuckle. His nose continued to nuzzle the other's back, and a small kiss even pressed to the warm skin. Perhaps he should have let it go so that they could relax and address it later, but the feeling inside him was so warm and comforting. It definitely wasn't like before. While he hadn't planned it this way... this was what he had come back to Zena for...
Lips curving with a smile again, he was surprised to feel heat along his cheeks and in his eyes. Those words were such a foreign magic in his mind. "You know, you're looking at this all wrong." One hand moved to pull Sol's hair back and expose his neck for a gentle press of lips. "It would be different, but there's no reason stopping in Zena would be the end of things for me." He chuckled and gave Sol a squeeze. "It certainly wasn't your end, right?"

At the rate they were going they wouldn't even see a hotspring, much less get the chance to relax in one. Sol arched his neck, reflexively moving his back as warmth spread across his spine. Chills caused his shoulders to quiver and a content little 'hmm' to slip out of his lips.
"Hmm?" If Koril had been looking to keep him in the bed then he had Sol's full attention now. His skin was practically as warm as a roaring fire; scalding at every spot Koril kissed. "No, it wasn't." His tone was huskier than before with a little edge to it that was positively hungry. "But your book...your family...you can't stay here."
Sol gave a quarter turn so that he could wrap an arm around Koril's hips and pull him closer.

Any plans for enjoying the vacation outside of this room were certainly dwindling quickly. Sol's reactions to his touches were just as addicting as those sweet words that had been spoken out loud. They still echoed in Koril's mind, holding him tight in their embrace. 'If I could...then I would.'
He bit down onto his lip as he was pulled around. While this conversation was clearly important, he definitely wanted to be physically close and the two intents clashed heatedly in his belly. "I suppose you're gonna make me leave?" he teased, brushing their noses together. "The book is almost done, and anything else I'd need would be a short trip away. My family always supports me, and it will make for a very nice place to vacation later."
Sol was magnetic, making Koril's fingers playing along the collar of the other's shirt. He couldn't keep his thoughts to himself. "Besides.. family is more than my parents and siblings. It could, maybe, include you~?"

Sol only vaguely wondered if the door had been locked behind the staff after they'd left. The thought of being discovered by a maid just checking to see how they were settling was certainly there, but when he pushed Koril back against the bed it seemed to fade away.
Sol lifted his leg as his hip rolled and quickly enough he was straddling Koril with one hand on the other man's shoulder and the other propping him up on the bed. Not once in the whole process did he place more than a foot of distance between the two of them. And now that Koril was, at the very least temporarily, pinned Sol leaned forward to n** at his lip.
"Then say it," His voice seemed somehow huskier than before and a touch more primal. It warmed his stomach and bubbled up from his core. "Tell me you want to stay. Tell me you-" Sol drowned out his own words by turning his attention to Koril's neck. The words still hung heavy in the air around them; Tell me you love me.
