Stories of youma had been common in her 'household' when she had been trapped within the peculiar little mist-ridden world. There had been comparisons drawn between these monsters and the xisting 'creatures' and hallucinations that they had been subjected to while there. In the end there had been agreement that while both horrid they had been entirely different entities and as such, the mist had been something treated with much more caution. Shaowei hadn't really understood why this was the case until Namielle had explained to her that generally speaking it wasn't terribly difficult for a Senshi to turn a youma to dust... Youma that caused them concern were rare and given they couldn't hurt these things the circumstances were very different.

Now that things had returned to normal though, she didn't have to worry about mysterious mist creatures and it would only be a matter of time before she encountered these creatures instead. She'd been warned of that one and she'd found the remarks intriguing. It seemed that despite being beasts of chaos they seemed particularly inclined towards feeding on Senshi, even those that were allies. In time she would likely have to defend herself and when that time game she would need to be ready for it.

Suffice to say that whatever the young woman had learned in that mist world, it was that she had no idea how to fight properly. When the chips were down she could throw a few things here and there but that didn't necessarily mean that this was successful or helpful. An encounter with a youma was likely to be no different and while she hadn't dwelled on it too much, she had come to accept that in time she probably would have to consider her options.

Running was one of them of course, but she was mindful of the fact that something might be faster than she was and in the end, there was every chance she'd have to stand and fight. Not exactly her preferred approach but if was requried then she would little option than to pursue it.

It wasn't playing on her mind as she wandered through the alleyway, her hands clasped under her sleeves against the cold. However as she heard the scurry of something much larger nearby she did glance over her shoulder and narrow her eyes. She would have been mindful of the possibility of dogs or rats, but what had flitted passed her had contained a signature ever so slightly different to her own. Weak, but there, she was in the presence of something that was fueled by chaos and seemed to have found her as it meandered through the less well lit streets.

Shaowei's lips pursed into a thin line as she came to a halt and focused her attention on the first movements of whatever seemed to be prowling nearby. Given it seemed to have realised she knew it was there, the creature had become much more careful and eventually she wasn't able to hear it at all.

Uh oh.

Her reflexes were fast but she still wasn't quite so confident that she could do what she'd seen other Senshi, Knights and Agents could... And then it came, plunging out of the darkness and straight towards her.
What followed after that was something that left her blinking in surprise, she should have moved out of the way, dodged the impending jaws of destruction and instead a flicker of white a red shot passed her and slammed the creature head first into the wall. It was sufficient enough force to immediately dust the creature and the energy signature went with it. Only when the plume of black had faded did her gaze settle on a familiar figure.

"I know you," she mused.

"You do, yes," came the reply as the Senshi turned round and shook his head. "Next time try punching it, they aren't that strong," he pointed out and rather unceremoniously strode passed her and back into the alleyway. There had been no hellos, no goodbyes, simply an intervention and then the senshi had gone about his day leaving her to stare at the aftermath.

He'd made quick work of it and logic stated that if he could do it then he wasn't lying, she probably could too... but last time she checked her reaction time wasn't quite as fast as his. Food for thought perhaps, but even as she began to move away from the youma again she couldn't help but take note of the other thing she'd failed to do.

Had she really been so distracted by that beast that she hadn't felt the pulse of an order senshi nearby as well?

Now that was something she was going to have to work on, such oversights were unacceptable to the woman whether they were expected and even tolerated by others. He hadn't caused her any harm but that didn't mean everyone else would be the same, she needed to be mindful of everything around her, no matter how near or far it might be.

Circumstances changed and they did so quickly, she was learning that more and more...
