Prompt 11: Strange talismans are hanging, hidden, in the tree branches in the forest. They are easy to miss, but there's something ominous about them; they are small strips of leather and wood and are marked with carvings, ink, and a strange brown stain. It is impossible to read anything on these talismans, but there is something obviously old and unnerving about them. Sometimes, when you pull one from the tree, a strange gust of wind reaches you despite none of the branches in the forest moving. In the distance, sometimes it feels like cold eyes on you. Oddly, the more talismans you recover, the more light seems to filter through the trees--at least, for a moment. There's no indication who put these talismans up, or what their purpose is. Pulling them may do as much harm as good, but there's only one way to find out what they're capable of and what their purpose is.
Supposedly they'd been useful - they'd done someting to the world around them and he had been fairly adamant about it. At first she hadn't been sure if his mind was playing tricks on him and this place had finally gotten to him, but after he had explained with considerable clarity what had happened, Shaowei had deemed it appropriate to look for herself. After all, they were all in this together and if doing this would help them get out then anything was worth a shot. She knew she wasn't the only one that was homesick and any indication that something was getting weaker or that a crack might be showing was an opportunity that she wouldn't pass up.
Thus, the Dark Mirror Senshi had set off on her own that afternoon, sleeves rolled up in preparation for the work that lay ahead of her for the next few hours. She'd know what she was looking for, right? At least she hoped she did. The White Moon senshi had been discriptive enough for her to have some sort of picture in her mind and so long as she held on to that she should be able to spot them. Well that was what she was hoping would happen but only time would tell if he was right, accurate and not going insane.
She soon pressed on into the forest, wandering off the beaten paths that led towards it as was often common. Given the forest ensured they always ended up back where you started it was unlikely that she would end up lost. Wander to far and it would deposited her at the forest edge once more and she could make her decision on where to go from there. Comforted by this now tried and tested theory, she continued further in and finally came to the 'clearing' that seemed to match Athalia's description. Well, it probably wasn't an exact match as she'd never managed to find any location that anyone had described in here but it was close enough at least.
Her lips pursed and she took a moment to observe her surroundings.
Nothing caught her eye at first, but sure enough the longer she spent looking at the trees, the more she realised that not everything on them was leaves. Resting on some branches she caught sight of the 'trinkets' that the man had been referring to, odd Talismans that had something incoherent carved upon the front. According to him, if she pulled these down then the world would begin to feel better, a little lighter... filled with a little more hope.
There was no harm in trying and now that she knew what she was looking for it wasn't long before she had begun to pull the ones she could reach down. An ominous presence bore down on her and yet, she chose to ignore it. The tale rang true and bizarrely, with each talisman she pulled down a little more light seemed to creep in to the canopy. It was all very strange but the findings were significant and if this light stayed then maybe they stood a chance.
Suffice to say that the senshi continued to work and the hours passed by swiftly, in fact, they ended up passing by much more quickly than she had anticipated and soon enough the mist began to roll in...
