He still had to follow up with Cavansite, see if she knew anything about someone using his name on rooftops of hospitals, but he also had a quota to fill. So, he decided that he’d fill it, and then ask her when he delivered the energy to her. It was sort of like two birds one stone, plus, if he ran into anyone while he was out he could ask a few questions, now with some more ‘pointed’ encouragement. He finally had something he knew how to use well. The stupid little knitting hooks were now a pair of small but wicked knives with a hooking tip. The tip was more or less useless unless he was trying to snap say, a rapier but having a sharp edge was reassuring. He drained a civilian, who, even if they had a ‘vigilante’ identity, wasn’t likely to tell him if they’d been on the Hospital roof that night because of ‘secret identities’ and all that. He settled the sleeping man onto a bench so that he’d at least be somewhat comfortable when he woke up and stepped back again to survey his surroundings and pick his next target, powered or otherwise. “Right… as long as I don’t smell cinnamon before I’m ready, this is fine.” He assured himself. He WAS going to find answers, and then one way or another he’d beat the hell out of whoever hurt Priam. Even with adding a possible ‘thanks for making me realize we all care’, there were some things that you just had to dirty your hands for. Priam was well worth dirty hands. His thoughts ran back to their neighbor for a moment, suspicion but no way to prove it that he could think of short of tailing him at all hours, and he couldn’t do that -and- work. It sucked. Maybe he’d run into those two in white again, they might have answers…

Lupu didn’t often patrol alone. It wasn’t needed. He had a whole support group that he could hang out with, a group of friends and family that just made life…better. He was supposed to have met up with his brother for a patrol tonight, but he had gotten the apology text saying that Ammersee was busy with work. And well, he couldn’t blame the other knight for that but...still.
It would have been nice to have a partner with him. Especially when he felt the unpleasant aura of a Negaverse Captain. He sighed softly and made his way over, his expression wary.
“Evening.” He looked the male over, not recognizing him, but that was to be expected...he didn’t...really find officers to fight. He was more than a little wary of them...what with half of his group having purified...they were all but wanted men...or well. Would have been if they would have been found out.
“I hope you’re not up to no good. I’d hate for this to get ugly, you know?” He summoned his bow, just to look at least a little imposing. Maybe he could simply scare the captain home. Or, even better...scare him over to the other side of things...yeah. That would work.
Totally. Maybe.

“According to some of you lot, I’m up to no good just for existing.” Parisite replied arching an eyebrow, his own hand drifted to his belt where he had his new daggers tucked. “Just energy and I’m not leaving anyone, anywhere too cold.” He said waving a hand. “But maybe you can tell me if you’ve heard about something happening.” “Unless you’re planning on being like that cinnamon mother ********, I’d rather not be -shot thanks very much.” He tipped his head trying to spot arrows, not that he trusted them not to appear out of the air like his own ‘uniform’.

Lupu blinked, frowning slightly and wrinkled his nose. “...Cinnamon mother ********?” He repeated the words, hoping for a little clarity. “...What kind of something happening?” The squire looked honestly interested and tilted his head. “I won’t shoot you. The arrows aren’t real anyway. It’s my magic that the bow shoots, but that is a doozie let me tell you.”
He grinned suddenly. “If you want, when you’re done with your questions, I can give you a bit of a demonstration. Show you what you’re missing, you know?” That was a new way to spin it. Show them what they could have if they weren’t infected with chaos…
It was brilliant. He was brilliant.
“So. What’s up? What...sort of thing happened and why should I have heard of it, and who is the cinnamon mother ******** that you’re...ah. So creative about?”

“If I knew his name I’d have shared it, b*****d has some kind of spray cinnamon in your face attack going which sucks WAY more than you’d think.” He shook his head. “Tried to strangle me for existing…” He shrugged. “Almost did…” He almost managed to sound nonchalant about it, after all their side seemed to be super okay with murder, he just needed energy. “By, Doozie, do you mean I still end up dead? Because magical or not, that’s a no thanks. I am pretty addicted to breathing.” “What I am LOOKING for, is information on who was on the Roof of the big hospital two streets over. Someone tossed a civ off the roof and I have a few opinions about that I’d like to share.” He tapped his knives. “I’m pretty irritated because the word on the street is they used my name. Which makes it not only absolutely s**t but personal.”

“Tried to…” Making a face, Lupu ran his thumb over his bow and nodded slowly. “...You weren’t...saved by a squire were you? Ah...blue haired? Not as handsome as me obviously, but...he did say something about saving a baby nega who was getting strangled by a jerk in orange…”
He grinned and looked the male up and down. “Congrats on your promotion, if that’s the case!” He watched the captain with an amused expression. “No, It won’t kill you, you won’t end up dead, but it’s pretty scary...maybe you can’t handle it...I wouldn’t blame you.” He gave an exaggerated sigh and shrugged. “I’m a Squire of Saturn, so everything about me is death and stuff. It’s why my bow is made of bone.”
He held it out so that Parisite could see. “Ah...no, I didn’t hear about that at all...but I’ll see if I can do some digging and find out? What is your name? I have a pretty tight group of contacts. I’m Lupu, by the way. I’ve never heard anything about someone pretending to be an officer just to chuck a civilian off of the roof...ah…” He hesitated, frowning now. “...Is the civ okay?”

Parisite’s eyes widened and his jaw hung open for a moment before he nodded carefully. “Yeah… that sounds right, I remember the blue.” He admitted. “The…Civ is ok as best I know.” He hedged. “They were at least near the hospital when it happened, landed on a car. It’s not like I think we can give them the energy to help.” He made a face. “But you don’t ******** with civilians like that in my book.” He tipped his head squinting at the bow. “Scary, but won’t kill you.” He arched an eyebrow. “I mean… I guess, you guys have some really odd s**t going on though.” He said carefully. “And you know the Blue haired dude, he’s okay in my book obviously.” He cleared his throat and looked away, clearly embarrassed by what came next “I’m Uh….. Parisite.” Maybe if he said it REALLY quietly….

Lupu nodded slowly, giving a heavy sigh. “No, that’s not fair. If you have a beef with someone, take it out on them, not on an innocent who has nothing to do with the war. That just. That’s messed up. But yeah, scary but won’t kill you. You get some cool powers on this side, just throwing it out there.”
Wrinkling his nose, Lupu hesitated. “I...didn’t really hear that but ah. I figured you don’t want to share, and that’s okay...but if you don’t tell me, how else will I be able to clear your name?” Goodness he wanted to help this captain. He wanted to offer a path out of the Negaverse...Obviously his brother had judged him as being worth saving...even if he didn’t really know him...but.
“We’ll help you, you know. If you have a problem...my friends and I, we can help you out. We’re pretty good at that. Especially...I mean.” He shrugged. “If you ever need an out. A lot of us needed one. Three of us...four if you count my boyfriend, which...well. I do. We’re a family.”

Parisite groaned at the truth of that.
“Ok… ok…it’s just kinda s**t okay?” He sighed. “It’s…. Parisite.” He folded his arms looking away. “I am very aware that it sounds like something you pick up traveling or by not wearing long pants in the tall grass.” He added pointedly waiting for the laugh. He glanced back with an odd look though at the offer ‘need an out’. What was that supposed to mean? He didn’t bother to hide the confusion. “What do you mean, need an out?” He asked blinking. He shifted his stance slightly, an angle away from the man in purple. Offers to help out always seemed to come with strings.

“Nice to meet you, Parisite. It’s not so bad a name, I’m sure that there are worse!” Lupu laughed, but the sound wasn’t mocking. He was trying to be friendly. Friendly was always better than not. “An out. Like...out of the Negaverse. It can get kind of heavy...being a part of that group. Things can start to get pretty gnarly after you start climbing the ranks.”
The smile on his face grew a little sad, and a little reflective. “You aren’t...really you any longer. The chaos makes you start to become a different person. Plus, terrible things can happen, like...getting upset and turning your ex’s into youma? Yeesh.”
He shook his head, the grin growing more genuine as he thought about how Zac must have felt after doing that to Evan...good lord. “Besides. People you love might be on the other side...if you fight without thinking...not that it’s always a bad thing to do so! Some people need their asses kicked! But...you could hurt someone that you care for and never even know it…”
Though, the same thing could happen in reverse but...he didn’t have killing weapons. And murder wasn’t singing in his veins.

He opened his mouth like he might try and argue it, and then closed it, frowning and thinking. His boss was nice, HER boss seemed nice. Maybe this was just… what the ‘enemy’ told people, though they were also really civil. This wasn’t like -… he pushed the thought down and didn’t even try and hide the whole journey his face had to be taking. “Uh… that would be the first I heard about people into Youma I think.” He admitted. “And uh… I don’t feel different?” he frowned harder, remembering things that the Cinnamon b*****d had said. Should his soul especially, but he also said incapable of love, and he loved Sterling, and he thought he did Priam too. “I didn’t…realize people could swap either.” He admitted. Now he just had…more questions for Cavansite. He wondered if that would get them both in trouble. The idea that he might hurt someone he cared about though, god… Imagine if Sterling or Priam were in any of this? That would be… he couldn’t imagine it honestly. They were both too kind and perfect and sweet and… Yeah no, there was no way. “O…okay, but that means that both sides could be doing that too, I mean… What if I knew the b*****d with the cinnamon outside of uniform? Not saying he cares at all, trust me but…”

Lupu watched him, pleased that he was actually listening, taking in his words and thinking about them. “That’s true! But, I tell you from experience...it’s...a shock when you find out that someone you care for is on the other side...and...it’s.” He rubbed his face. “When you figure that out...there’s not much that can be done. If your side finds out that they’re on our side, they’ll be marked for death. Or corruption. And from what I’ve seen, if you corrupt someone to the Negaverse...it destroys them. No memories of their life at all. Nothing.”
His expression was pensive, and more than a little sad. “...A fresh, empty husk for chaos to take over. A new life that can simply be controlled by the higher ups to spread chaos in the world. But. I mean.”
The secret shouldn’t be shared, but...he was this far into things already, so Lupu sighed. “...I was part of the Negaverse. And I won’t lie, leaving does give consequences too. I don’t...remember my time as part of them. I don’t remember anything about it other than very scattered bits and pieces and notes that I wrote to myself prior to coming over...It was hard but...it was my choice. And...choices are important I think. Just...just food for thought, Parisite.”
Holding out his bow, Lupu cleared his throat. “...So. Do you want to try out my magic? For funsies? I promise you won’t get hurt. Scared, maybe. But I won’t hurt you. We’re friends now.”

“Huh….” he said sounding a bit like he’d just been punched in the gut. Corruption… wiping out people, imagining that for Sterling, or Priam… it was awful. What if they did that just for knowing he was in this uniform. Or…death. He swallowed hard. It was a war, that was what he tried to tell himself but it made him feel a bit sick. “You… you were?” He blinked, that was, that was stunning too, it made him exhale a stunned breath again, blinking rapidly. “God…I… huh…damn.” He murmured. “I mean, uh… wow.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Uh…yeah sure, I mean it’s not …lethal. I can’t really show off my…uh, knives. I mean I could but that’s uh…hmm” He was still reeling from what he’d just learned. “…s**t, I got recruited because they wanted my dinner,” he admitted. It was hardly on par with ‘I used to be on your side but I left’, but he hoped it might make things a little more light-hearted. “But uh, sure, yeah.’ He gave a half-hearted grin. “I mean if you can scare me that would be pretty impressive too, eh? I’ve seen a lot of s**t. I’m just adding magical s**t to that now.”

“They wanted your dinner? Dude, that’s funny!” Lupu laughed and drew the bow back, beginning to channel his magic. “I promise, I won’t hurt you.” He said again, trying to reassure.
The arrow was loosed, and ended up a few feet away from Parisite, so as not to frighten him. He didn’t want to hurt the male, this was simply a demonstration.
As the four hands came from the ground, two of them reaching and grabbing at the Captain’s ankles, Lupu watched, though cut the magic off after only a few seconds. It had utterly terrified his brother...and he didn’t want to lose whatever fragile trust he had built up with this officer.
He made his way over to him, a slightly worried look on his face. “...You good?”BlackSageTea As a squire, Lupu has a magic pool that lasts for forty seconds. When he channels the magic, he holds his bow and fires an ethereal arrow. Wherever it lands within a fifteen foot radius, skeletal hands come up and bind the target in place. The magic channeling does not begin until the arrow has landed and the arrows can do no damage, they are just a catalyst for his magic. A total of four hands come out of the ground at this stage, capable of holding either one person in a very strong grip, two in strong grips or four in moderately breakable one handed grips. Anyone targeted by the hands will see flashes of a horrifying illusion of being surrounded by death and decay that worsens the more they struggle. The more hands that grip the target, the more overwhelming the sensation is.

“********…” It was not the most eloquent reply perhaps, but he was absolutely looking paler, the freckles standing out in bold contrast to the haunting memory of death and decay reminding him of dark spaces, trapped, the smell of mildew that he could almost taste. “I take it back… I’m impressed.” He sat down, not even caring what it looked like. <********.” He swore again “… I do not think you could have said anything that would have prepared me for that.” He admitted. “Still better than a face full of cinnamon.” He said and gave a hollow laugh.
