Monoceros bit his lip as he waited in the park, sitting at a picnic table with enough lunch for probably three or four people, legs bouncing nervously to an alternative beat. He hadn't really had time to eat before he headed out, and it would've been exceedingly rude to show up with food for himself and not Lysithea, regardless of if she actually chose to eat or not with him.
He'd only made some basic sandwiches and packed some chips; it was all he'd had time for, even though it kind of pained him. He really liked feeding people with food he'd put effort into, the first time, but circumstances just decided to hate him today.
He had way too much to be nervous about right now, and focusing on the food was helping him to not freak out about the bigger things, at least.

Lysithea was loath to admit it, but her duties as a senshi had truly fallen by the wayside lately. She hadn’t had much drive to get out and do much of anything, and she rather hated herself for it, at least a little. Not that she would admit that to anyone...but Evan seemed to know. He always seemed to know everything, and she always felt more than lucky to have him for a friend.
There was a senshi who was interested in their court, she had been told. A newbie senshi who could use a friend, Evan had said. Well. SHe could do that. And meeting someone new would be good for her in the long run, they were all so content now. It was hard to have the energy to get out and do things. The peace that her little circle had was rather intoxicating.
Still, when she was told someone wanted to meet her...she couldn’t help but go. She had brought a few bottles of water and put them in her subspace pocket, not knowing if they would be simply talking or training, but it was good to have regardless.
As Lysithea made her way to the rendezvous point, she smiled. “Ah, are you Monoceros? Malus said that you wanted to meet up?”

Monoceros jumped a bit at her arrival, having been too tuned into his inner thoughts to have noticed the person approaching him. "Yeah," he said voice cracking, then cleared his throat a couple times, "Yeah, yeah, that's me. You must be Lysithea, then, right? I brought us, uh, some lunch, if you might've been hungry—I didn't have time for lunch myself today, so it's just. Some basic sandwiches. I wanted to... join the court?" He took very deliberate breaths to focus himself, trying not to go off on several different tangents and ramble on and on. He needed to be calm. Professional. Somehow going down a few different thought paths until he ended up talking about how Buizel is one of his favorite pokemon wouldn't do.

Lysithea nodded, grinning. “That’s me! And thank you! I brought some water, I hope that’s all right, but I wasn’t sure if you would want some fighting practice too of just a chat...but if there’s food.” She drew out two of the bottles, laughing. “I’m more than happy to just sit and eat and talk about the court! We’d love to have you.”
Honestly, it half felt like the court was falling apart...she hadn’t seen three of the members in so long, and she was a little worried. She still had Evan of course, and Malcolm but…
He always seemed to be pulling away too, and that was her fault, she knew. She hadn’t been reaching out like she should have.
She would fix that. Lysithea made a promise to herself that she would go and visit the male after this was over. She missed him.
“What made you want to join us? What did Malus say about it? I’m really excited to hear it, though. I...kind of needed a kick in the butt to get back to things!”

"Well, honestly?" he began, rubbing his chin, "He had me convinced as soon as he said y'all work to help purify youma." He leaned forward, placing his head in his hands and his elbows on the table. "The first time I met one? I was still.... uh, normal, I guess. This great big velociraptor-like fellow showed up. Threatened me, but..." His expression softened a bit. "I got him to calm down, a bit. He relaxed as I talked to him, let me pet him a bit, and I wasn't sure how to help him, but gaining his trust was a first step, right?" He smiled weakly. "Then, this... I don't even know how to describe him, but now I realize, I suppose he was a knight... Showed up, chopped off the poor thing's tail, and sent him running. My lungs nearly collapsed after I hollered at him." Wincing, Monoceros continued, "I really hope I never meet him again. Or if I do, that he absolutely has no idea who I am while in this form. I really don't feel like dealing with that awkwardness."

“Oh!” Lysithea listened, tilting her head to the side and looking almost eager. “You were able to talk to the youma? Did...did he talk back to you? I know that some can, but it’s always...well, not interesting but...sometimes I wonder if the ones who talk--who can think...if maybe they’d be easier to convince to purify, but...sometimes they just…”
She looked thoughtful for a moment. “The ones who can talk seem stronger than those that can’t, at least in my experience. Please be careful with them, okay? They hate senshi, like…hate senshi...I don’t want you getting hurt. I know that it’s...it’s tempting to try and help all of them, lord knows I want to...but sometimes you need to understand that you can’t save everyone...no matter how much you want to. The thing with purification...it has to be a choice...”
For a moment, Lysithea just sighed. “Chaos can take what it wants, but you have to want to give it up...the chaos, I mean. But...seriously, we’d love to have you. It’s nice to see someone who seems to think like I do!” She brightened. “I’ll see about setting up a meeting and introducing you to everyone else!”

"Yeah," he said eagerly, "He talked back to me! It wasn't very good, but he was agreeing to being nice, I think. I mean, he told me he was going to eat me, but after I was giving him the chin scratches, he repeated the word 'nice' back to me and was definitely enjoying what I was doing." He nodded as she elaborated. "Malus said the same thing," he said soberly, "It's... distressing to think about, but..." He inhaled deeply. "I promise to not go too far with someone that doesn't want help." He brightened again as she said she would set up a meeting, leaning forward with a grin on his face. "Really? Oh, thank you! I'd seriously, really love to join."

Lysithea nodded. “Of course. We’d seriously love to have you. Things have been...quiet with us lately, and maybe bringing you in will provoke us all into being more active and doing what we’ve set out to do.” She smiled and shook her head, giving a little laugh.” Malus is a smart cookie, no matter what he thinks about himself sometimes.”
Stretching, the senshi stifled a yawn. “You should give me your number, I’ll be in touch, at the very least we can start setting up patrol dates or something. But...just be careful when you’re giving youma scratches, they are dangerous…” Even though...she understood. She would do...and had done the same thing several times.
“We can’t go losing you before we’ve even gotten you in to our court! That would be terrible. Besides, you’re my friend now and I refuse to lose any friends.”

Monoceros pulled out his senshi phone, ready to put her number in—then stared at it for a moment. "You know, I've not actually used this thing yet," he said thoughtfully, "I just sort of... have it." He grinned shyly as she referred to him as her friend, ducking his head to hide his face. "Aw. I'm happy to be your friend. And thanks for all the advice, really. I don't want to die early on in this superhero business either. The dream just came true; be stupid of me to waste the opportunity."

“Oh, those things are wicked useful. All you have to do is snap a picture of me, and it’ll automatically record who I am and my sphere and stuff. I have no idea how it works but, it’s kind of amazing.”
Obviously it worked with some type of magic, but, since she wasn't a mauvian, it was beyond her. And Sol never seemed to want to give away any trade secrets, no matter how much she tried to bribe him so, it was a lost cause.
Drawing her own phone out, Lysithea took a moment to show Monoceros which button to press, and snapped a quick picture of him, showing how the information filled itself in.
“I think it resonates with a person’s starseed but. I could just be pulling that out of the air. It sounds pretty legit though.” She grinned and struck a pose. “Here, get my good side, and then we can exchange real phone numbers, if you want! Real life friends for the win.”

Monoceros startled a bit when she took his picture, probably giving the camera a very "deer in the headlights" look that he was sure wasn't flattering at all. Oh, well, there were probably worse frames of his face screenshotted from Twitch. He grinned as he went to take her picture. "That sounds like a good plausibility," he said, "And yeah, real phone numbers, absolutely!"

Lysithea nodded and grinned happily, powering down into Cambria and drawing out her phone. “Perfect then! I’ll talk to the others and we can plan for something!” Well, she’d talk to the others that she really still talked to, Her own household mostly but, that was okay. Monoceros would be a good new addition, and he could meet them all.
...If anything, this made her really want to check on the others. It was time to stop sitting back on her laurels and get back out there.
Thank goodness for Evan, that was all she could say.
