Tendaji Tricks

The seasons are changing yet again, and a cool breeze is washing across the shores of Tendaji and Kahikina. Many are finishing up their final harvests, and now are begging to prepare for the longer nights and slower days. Naturally, with all the extra free time, the people of Tendaji are growing restless and looking for some entertainment. It's time for the tricksters to come out and play.
[ In this world event, your character is involved in a little prank. Either they are doing the prank, or receiving one, but how does it go? Is it all in fun or is it something a little more nasty? Roleplay it out and celebrate the tricky side of this holiday season! ]

While out goofing off Lynx had come across a red berry that when squished left a bright red juice all over and instantly got an idea. He thought it would be a fun idea to play a trick on his mother. So he collected a bunch of the berries then smashed them so that the bright juice would drip onto his arm. Lynx wanted to make sure the color was seen so he may have gone a bit overboard with the berry juice.
With that he held his arm as though it were injured then limped into the house. "Mom... Mom! I think I hurt my arm..." It took a lot to keep the smile off his face.

She was sitting in the house trying to fix the broken links on a chain necklace that she'd 'found.' Theanduri was hoping that she could fix it up well enough to pawn later. It wasn't really her style so she didn't intend on keeping it.
When she heard someone enter she knew from the weight it had to be one of her sons. What got her attention, however, was his calling out. "What is it? What did you do?" He'd hurt his arm? Thea put the necklace down on the table and turned to look toward the front door praying her son hadn't broken it. When she saw him she first noticed how he was holding himself and her eyes widened slightly. "Dear gods! Lynxdaroch! What did you do!?" She was up and out of her chair instantly to cover the distance to him.

He had to look down at the floor to keep from laughing and shook his head with his lips pressed together hoping it looked like he was in pain. He couldn't say anything just yet as he was too close to laughing and giving the whole prank up for what it was.
The closer his mom got to him the more he held onto his arm to prevent her from seeing that there was no cut to bleed from. "There's so much..." Lynx was almost thankful now that he'd used a lot of the berry juice.

Motherly panic set in as she looked at all the red. It never occurred to her that it was a little too bright. Thea only saw her son with red all over his arm and instantly thought the worst.
Halfway to him she stopped then turned to go back and grab a clean cloth from the table. She needed something to take the place of his hand. "Hold on sweetie. Lets cover it then we can take you to the healer."

Lynx never imagined he could pull the prank so well. He thought she'd have demanded to see the injury right away to determine if she could patch him up or not.
Then he saw the double back for the cloth and he couldn't help the smile. When she mentioned the healer though he knew he was going to have to let her know it wasn't as bad as all that. So when she got closer he let go of his arm and held his hand out to stop her. "No mom, its fine.."

As she came back over to him with the cloth and he let go of his arm she panicked all over again. "No Lynx don't let go of it!" She knew if he was bleeding that badly then letting go could make it worse. She half lunged forward to cover it with the cloth then stopped. Her eyes focused on what she was seeing.
There was no cut. It was all color. Thea processed this for a second before she looked up into her son's face and saw his smile. "Lynxdaroch what is this? Did you think this was funny!?" She took a deep breath then slapped him on the arm with the cloth she had in her hand. "Do you have any idea how worried I was!?"

He stood there as she figured out what it was then started to laugh. When asked if he thought it was funny he nodded his head. "A little, yeah... OUCH! Mom!" When she hit him on the arm he flinched then rubbed at it. "It was just a joke.. Ow.." He looked at his arm to see if a welt was left behind.
"That really hurt.." He rubbed the spot then looked up at her. "You were that worried huh?"

"A joke? Making me think you were bleeding all over the place was a joke?" She sighed and shook her head before she smacked his arm again. "Yes I was worried! You're my baby! You and your brother are what your dad and I love most."
Her initial fright gone she could feel her body starting to shake as the adrenaline tapered down. Thea grabbed her son's arm with one hand and with the other she scrubbed at the red color on his skin. "What is this? How did you get all red?"

He couldn't help the stupid grin he had on his face. Lynx was a mama's boy but he had enjoyed pulling the prank. "Hehe.. I love you mom." He figured it wouldn't hurt to sugar coat things just a little.
As she started to scrub at the red on his arm he looked at it. "Oh. Its berry juice. Nice and red huh?"

Him saying he loved her only made her pause long enough to look up at him with a clearly unamused expression. "You wait until your dad gets home. And you're not to leave the house for full moon cycle." Oh yes, her son was totally grounded for nearly giving her a heart attack.
She went back to scrubbing at his arm to get the red coloring off. It was a bit sticky but she noticed it stained his skin just a little, even with how dark he was. "You ever do something like that again and I will injure you for real." Then Thea paused to look behind him, suspicion in her gaze. "Where's your brother? Is he gonna do this too?"

When she mentioned his dad he cringed some. He wasn't looking forward to telling his dad that he'd scared mom for fun. Iexa might laugh with him before telling him it was mean. "Ah, come on mom.. Why do you have to tell dad?"
The not leaving the house bit was a bummer too but he had a feeling he could butter her up enough to get the time reduced. When she looked behind him he did too, almost concerned his dad was there. When he saw no one he looked back then shrugged. "Dunno where Iexa went.. If he does I had nothing to do with it." If his twin happened to get the same idea as him then it wasn't his fault.

"So that he knows his son is a brat." She narrowed her eyes at him.
Thea sighed and turned to walk back over to the table, pulling her son along behind her. "Come on, I'll get some water to wash this off. Its staining your skin." Hearing that he didn't know where his brother was stuck her as a bit suspicious and odd but she didn't press the issue. Lately the two had started to do their own things so it wasn't unheard of. Had they been a few years younger she might call bull.
"You really scared me Lynx. Don't do that again."

He couldn't argue with her that he was a brat.
As she pulled him along to the table and mentioned that his skin was starting to stain he blinked then looked down at it. Sure enough he could see darker parts with a reddish tint. Maybe that was a berry that was used in a dye? "Oh cool.."
He looked back at his mom and offered her a slightly shameful smile. "I know, I didn't mean to make you panic that bad. I just thought it would be fun. Have to admit the berry juice was cool."

She grabbed the bowl of water they kept for washing their hands and brought it to the table so that she could access it easier. "Yes Lynx, it was a cool idea but not enough to scare your mother." She scolded him again.
Thea dipped the cloth into the water then took it to his arm again, this time scrubbing with the help of the water. She noticed that the color was coming off easier and smiled. He would still have some staining but hopefully not as much. "Lets not do it again, okay?"
