Hated Food: Snails - the one food someone tried to force her into eating. She didn’t appreciate it and now draws a line at the little rubbery awful things.

School/Occupation: DCU (premed) - helps out as she can in her family’s Traditional Medicine Shop.

Hobbies:
Books - Specifically medical novels. It might seem a curious sort of preference for someone studying to be a professional acupuncturist, but she finds a ghoulish sort of enjoyment in reading strange medical books. Things like “The woman who swallowed a toothbrush” and “Dead men do tell tales” are books that can be frequently found in her messenger bag along with helper actual school books and other odds and ends.

Board Games - She enjoys this more because her little brother does, but it’s nice to share something with him and with their mutual friends. That is far from saying she won’t draw the line at playing Monopoly. SOME people just don’t win graciously, never mind how some people lose, and that game brings out the worst in people.

Music: While a good deal of her life is dedicated to continuing the family traditions, music is her personal escape. When she can slip away, rare though it is she loves attending concerts. There is a whole different feel to it, the people the sound, the energy of a good performance, the thrill of discovering a new band. She quietly shares her finds with her brother Nelson, though she knows their tastes in music won’t always match.

Virtues:

Caring -- Tanwen, or Q - is a caretaker, she is there for her friends in their time of need. She’s not necessarily the soft kind of caretaker, she’s the one who you’ll turn to put the cream on your burns, to drive you to the Hospital, to threaten your continued existence if you don’t get back in bed till your fever breaks. She’s the kind of caring that will fight for you. Sometimes that means fighting for you to be kind to yourself, which is often the hardest fight.

Driven -- Once she has set her mind to something she’ll find a way to achieve her goals. The only thing that she’ll let get in her way is if you can change her mind, though that can be incredibly hard to do. Not unlike her friend Jace, she puts this determination to good use, carrying a lot on her plate at all times, from study to working with and for her family.


Stoic -- Tanwen is one of those people blessed with ‘grace under fire’, She’s the sort of person who would take things in stride even if the building were falling down around her ears. Her philosophy amounts to the idea that she can break down later if she gets things done now. Especially since if she manages to get things under control she might not even need to have a breakdown.



Flaws:

Stubborn -- When her mind is made up, it’s made up, it’s very hard indeed to alter whatever course she has set herself on, even if it’s a path she has occasionally chosen with only half the information needed to make a choice. For better or worse her stubborn streak tends to have a self-destructive lean to it, as her stubborn moments are frequently tied to helping others above her own well-being.

Insular -- While she’s dedicated to her friends, and even to caring for others, she has a hard time opening up. The idea of expanding her horizons to find new friends is very hard for her. Likewise showing her emotions, Not to say she won’t smile, or frown but admitting any depth of feeling or thing that is troubling her is far harder.

Bully -- She can be rather pushy and bossy, handing off tasks and admonishments, frequently without thinking about how they’ll come across. Especially when she works with her brother on anything regarding their Premed Studies. She says jump, and more often than not she expects you to answer with ‘how high’.



PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION


Eyes: Almond-shaped and almost black in color.

Hair: Black, long enough when loose to reach just past her butt, while she complains about brushing it out she seems to enjoy the versatility it offers her for style, even if its most frequently twisted into a bun.

Face: Oval, a cupid bow mouth that is very capable of a decidedly irritated look at its most neutral.

Skin Tone: Very pale, slightly paler than her brother Nelson.

Body Type: Swimmer, deceptively slender with powerful well-toned legs and arms that look less capable than they are.

Clothes: When she’s dressing for herself she has a decidedly punk-goth lean to her clothing. Hip hugging pants, crop tops with rock logos, doc martins that have been well-loved for many years. Multiple piercings in her ears and dark lipstick with heavy eyeliner.

For work, you can count on something a little more formal. Long sleeves and mandarin collars, frequently with a carved wood or bone comb pinning her hair back.
