Chloris was listening absently, though she had not missed the winged girl's comment. She shook her head and frowned silently thinking the girl an idiot before she would go back to paying attention to the teacher intently."Well, that answers that question,"She thought, a bit nervous as Professor Kail had announced each pairing and the rules of combat. Smiling to her teammates each, she would wish them luck. Taking it as her cue, she would make her way towards an area a bit out of the way of any benches and stage.
"So...I'm with the cotton candy blue,"The young woman thought as he seemed to make his way over to her. Her quarterstaff was held in neutral position for now. Smiling kindly, though seeming a bit shy-like; not used to sparing outside of her teammates."Um, hi,"The young woman greeted softly. Unlike with her teammates, she was more quiet around those she didn't know...though she will be outspoken if she sees something that was not right; remembering her time at the carnival's ferris wheel."Yui..."She thought for a second before eyes of mossy green looked up to meet the boy's aqua blues."I'm Chloris, but, you may call me Chlo or Acantha,"The young druid's gentle voice said politely, holding out a dainty right hand towards him for a hand shake.

By now, Kamyu had done finished his peach red bull. he felt a little better. Looking at his scroll, he saw Peri message. Aya went to the rescue. Listening to what the assignment was, thank goodness he brought Sonic. His semblance was useless in a fight. It caused no one harm, just altered their mood. His own mood needed to be altered. No point in using it. They had to fight each other and use defensive aura. That was easy enough right? It seems professor Kail picked their partners.
Seeing whom he was paired with, he would walk over to the young woman. She seemed to be shy and very small compared to him. He was sweet and harmless though. She said hi and he actually smiled a bit. "Hi." He said just as softly back. Putting his hands in his pants pocket, he would wait for instructions. He was fighting someone outside of his teammates. That meant he had to take this spar a little more seriously. He didn't know what his partner's abilities were."I'm Kamyu, but, you can call me Kam or Kyu." Taking her hand right hand in his, he firmly shook it.
Releasing her hand, he knew this was about to turn into a battle. The only way to get better was to fight. He wasn't a fighter at heart, but he had a dream to accomplish. "I am ready when you are." He put Sonic down on the ground in front of him. It just looked like a boom box. So harmless. Yes, he was giving her free range to hit him first, he was really good with his defensive aura. it had kept him alive for years.

She was gentle but firm in returning the shake before releasing his hand and stepping back."Pleasure, Kam. Good luck,"The young woman said kindly before stepping back about three feet. She would then look back up at the young man before he would allow her to make the first move.
She would not use her semblance for this first round at least, pale green aura did surround her though as she was putting it up for protection. The druid decided to go easy on Kamyu as she would take the staff in both hands and forward strike in time with stepping forward with her right foot. In this strike, she would use her quarterstaff as the conduit for her aura to push into/at Kam's midsection.
If she hits:
Seeing that he would be pushed back less than a foot, Chloris would step back one step and prepare for counterattack with her quarterstaff. Unsure of how this persona was in a fight, she would hate to underestimate him. The class truly beginning in her mind as she would watch her opponent, and hoping to defend well.
If she misses:
Cursing softly under her breath, she would nod in acknowledgment of her opponent's skill to deflect, a small smile played her lips. She mentally noted that this might get more interesting, as she would prepare to deflect a counterattack with her quarterstaff.

He wouldn't be using his semblance it all. Hew was going to try to stick to his limited combat training he did have. This fight wasn't going to be pleasant for him. He needed to train more. His rainbow aura was surround him as he was ready for her to strike first. What he did though was a surprise to her as he allowed his weapon to transform into gauntlets and blocked her staff with his left hand from hitting his midsection. He heard her curses and she seemed to realize that he may not be such a bad opponent. He chuckled softly as he would counterattack.
If he hits her:
Kamyu would follow through would a right hook to her chin using an air blast as he made contact to push her back. he'd go back on guard to prepare for a counterattack. He was sure she was going to come with all she had seen as he'd just landed a punch.
if he misses:
He would have to prepare himself to be countered. His lack of training was showing and she would be able to see it. How could he not land a punch!? This was so embarrassing.

Chloris was impressed with the transformation of the weapon to gloves of sorts."Impressive,"She thought prepping for attack, but it would prove too slow as she would go it for a hit, it left her open in that moment. Being punched in the chin had knocked the petite woman back a bit. Smirking slightly, she rubbed her chin and smiled up at him."Good hit,"The young woman complimented sincerely pleased. This was right before she would aim to thwack his right upper arm with her aura still protecting her quarterstaff as she did.
If she hits:
Her aim would be to hit hard and fast, using strength, push him to the side; indirectly testing his balance before she would step back. Her quarterstaff ready to thwack him once again.
If she misses:
Smiling a little, she would pull her quarterstaff back in order to jump back swiftly before taking a defensive stance. Feet apart, one behind the other, both hands on her quarterstaff, aim at him.

It seems that his opponent was pleased with his skills. He was too even if he felt a little bad for hitting her. It was a fight after all even if it wasn't a serious one. The good part was, he was sure she was going to get him back. They were going to both their licks in. He didn't have to worry about that. She was already back on the attack and he liked it as her staff hit him. He would be slid to the side flailing to try to prevent from falling. When he did catch his balance, he would nod. "Okay, you got me." Since it aura was activated, it didn't hurt him, but he found out that she had some strength. She was ready to hit him again!
If he hits her:
Kamyu wasn't going to let her get a second hit in. He would block her hit and trade her one hit to the midsection. It was starting to turn into a hit for hit fight. It was just who was going to take the biggest hit that breaks the others aura.
if he misses:
His block was too slow and he took her next hit. Aura still up protecting him. How many more hits could he take? He was just going to accept she was faster than him. Plus she was putting some force behind those hits.

Quarterstaff ready and stance poised for attack, she would smile. Even though they were currently facing one another, being at this school, she felt a kinship with the students she met here. Curiosity graced her expression then."Hm, shall we test somethin'...maybe try ta come at me with all yer force. I'll try to dodge?"Chloris suggested as the thought crossed her mind. Playing a game of chase might make it a good test for them both.
If she hits:
Adding force once more to her smack to his left arm, she would jump back enough to be little more than a yard before she would focus on her quarterstaff, using her semblance power to change its form into a vine-like whip; waiting for his answer.
If she misses:
She would try to retreat, probably risking getting hit, but she didn't mind, as she would make a yard (about a meter) of distance between them. Using her semblance to manipulate her quarterstaff into a whip. Mossy green eyes looking up at Kam's aqua blues as she waited for his reply.

They were enjoying this very much. This was the kind of distraction kamyu needed from his home life problems. Kamyu attack did miss. He was a tad bit slower than Chloris. That was totally fine. He was still training to improve. It was clear, she was better than him by a long shot. he had seemed to knock her off her game just a little bit. She commended him for it. "Thank you darling. You aren't doing so bad yourself." Kamyu's lack of training was showing some. It wasn't too bad at the moment. Himself and his team needed to spend more time in the training room.
Kamyu was ready for another hit, but he was able to block her. It seems he was getting good at deflecting her attacks. Then she had proposed something that may not be such a bad idea. A lesson in dodging attacks. "Of course. Let's give it a try."He told her. This was going to be a different change of pace. He was to come with all he had at her. He was ready to impress. He was amazed at her semblance. It allowed her to change her weapon. That was so cool. He wished his semblance was even half that.
If he hits her:
He could charge at her with all he had. With his hand cocked back, he would follow through with all his strength with a punch square in her chest with an air blast coming from his gauntlets. With that much force and the air blast, he was probably going to knock her to the floor. He didn't feel it was going to be over. He'd have to land another like that to end this fight.
if he misses:
It was his lack of training showing again. With that much effort being put into it, he would stumble to the point of almost falling over. He would have to turn himself around to prepare to be attacked. If she didn't already do so, with him looking like he was falling from his own momentum. this was a sad situation to be in.

Chloris was prepared to be hit with a lot of force since her whip would snap past his cheek without making a hit. Even so, she was not braced enough to stop the wind from leaving her lungs. He did indeed strike her enough to be moved back, but she would not fall flat. If she hits him:
The whip would crack and a sting could be felt at the young man's left calf. She would not stay in one place after striking him though, she would instead move clockwise around him to try and try to strike his other calf. The idea was to make it a bit painful to move temporarily.
If she misses him:
The whip would crack without pain. Either her aim was off, or he moved swiftly enough to get out of the way. Whichever was the result, she would pull back and move around counterclockwise. Almost like a dance to avoid being hit another time.

She as seem to taken his hit well. Boy was she boosting his over all confidence that he could do this. He could be a Hunter. Something that he was told in Signal he would never be able to do, but look at him. Oh, if he could rub it into some of his old classmate faces. The sweet I told you so. This was not the time to brag. Not yet. She was doing well just as him. That whip was something to fear. When she cracked it boy did he have to get out the way quickly. "I do not want to feel the sting of that." He joked sweetly. He knew he wasn't going to be able to dodge forever. He would move counterclockwise with her, he had to keep her in his sights. She moved very quickly. He would try to strike her again.
If he hits her:
He would go for a quick jab to the jaw. He had to move quickly because she could crack the whip in a matter of seconds. He needed not be caught. It was all about sticking and moving with his hits now.
if he misses:
He would be prepared to take a hit for sure. She was too good with the whip for him not to. He'd just have to make sure wherever she hit would be covered in aura. The last thing he wanted was to feel the sting. He didn't need to tear up in class.

Chloris smiled as he would move along with her and go in for the strike. His comment played in her mind again."Most don't want to feel it...and I'd rather not be hit,"The petite young woman thought honestly. That thought in mind, she would duck away from his incoming gauntlets. She saw he was prepared for a hit, so she would use that."Twas close,"The young woman commented, a mischievous twinkle in her moss-green eyes. Dropping her whip between them as she made more distance (about 6 feet if allowed). As soon as she let go, her aura showed itself once more, animating the whip to rise in serpentine style and slithering forward to attack!
If she hits him:
The animated whip would move swiftly along the ground before leaping to strike! Instead of hitting the young man though, it would slither around, up, and bind tight together his legs together, acting like a constrictor. If left uninterrupted, it would move up to continue restraining.
If she misses him:
The animated whip would strike, miss, and back up just a bit. As it was controlled by her, Acantha would make damn sure it would attack again. Not to harm, but to try and incapacitate via grapple/coiling up.

He missed! Of course he did! She was faster than him. He knew this already yet he wasn't keeping up with her. Not only did he miss, he got caught. Once the whip caught his feet and he lost balance hitting the floor. Then it just kept snaking around him. Even as he tried to move to stop it. This was it. He had lost his first one on one fight. "I surrender." He stated. "You have won this fight Ms. Chlo. I respectfully surrender." He was wrapped up like a burrito on the floor. This was a sad situation to be in. He had fought hard and he'd done a great job. He was proud of himself.

Chloris was concentrating her efforts in capture rather than doing any real harm to the young man (as she was not wanting to harm him if she could avoid it). Once it was said, the serpentine whip would slither back to the young druid and stop at her feet, returning to its oak staff form. Picking it up, she would wait for the young man to stand. Smiling softly up at the blue-haired boy with a bit of admiration and happiness."I'm glad I got this experience,"she thought, genuinely pleased. Holding out her hand to him once she was close enough, she would exchange a polite yet friendly handshake."'T'was a pleasure, Kam, hope we git ta do this again. And, maybe with your team and mine sometime,"Chlo commented before bowing her head slightly after his response. She would then turn and, walking with staff in-hand, she would leave with her team to other tasks...

Getting to his feet, he was satisfied with the battle between him and Chlo. He had done well actually. This was nothing to be ashamed of at all. Taking her extended hand, he would shake it. It was a sign of mutual respect between the two. "I would love for us to meet again Chlo. I would not mind introducing my team to yours. We are now considered friends and allies Ms. Chloe." With that, he transform his gauntlets back into a boombox and exit the classroom. Class was over for them once they had completed their fight. Time to catch up with his teammates.
