Prompt 2: You need to eat. There are archaic cooking utensils and a well in the middle of town. There is an array of fruits, mostly apples, hanging from some trees, and there are several different types of berries that grow around the forest. There are unkempt gardens in a few of the houses, and a larger one with an array of crops that seem to be free for the taking, just by what seems to be an abandoned--locked--church. In some houses, and in a strange storage room in town, there seems to be unidentifiable dried meat. There are no packed or processed foods--only what nature permits. There are no animals to hunt. You can choose to eat any of such food, but at what cost? Are you fortunate enough to feel no effects? Are you struck with some toxic poisoning that fades after a bit? Do you feel rejuvenated, but at the cost of feeling incredibly paranoid and off? Food and effects are player choice, however should not grant any boosts in battle or extreme advantages into gameplay; if you have questions about what you can find or what effects it can have, please post in the MQ&A

Athalia had had more than enough of the odd meat that Shaowei had been feeding them with by now. While he had been blessed not to have any extreme side effects he had often been left with an odd and lingering taste in his mouth each time he ate it. He always felt well fed afterwards of course, but in the grand scheme of things he had noticed that the meat in particular seemed to be the culprit when it came to the reactions he had. He had come out more fortunate than others in that respect though given that he had heard stories of some of the reactions that others in the community had experienced, but that didn't mean that he wasn't otherwise inclined to explore alternatives that might be available to him.

In short... He had elected to explore a more vegetarian option where he might be able to find it.

He'd found the apples with Metis previously and all things considered they hadn't tasted bad. If anything he had enjoyed their taste and it was for this reason that he had decided to harvest them again. Of course he did have other plans as well. He might not have been the world's best cook but he did know how to get by reasonably well and given that Shaowei had fed him fairly frequently over the last few weeks and both Metis and Namielle had sought to keep him sane he saw it as only fair that he return the favour to some degree.

Yep, the senshi was going to attempt to make an apple tart and all being well it wouldn't leave anyone unwell or hallucinating. He'd actually have been ok with bubbles expanding out of people's ears and popping at this rate. Nevertheless he wouldn't know the outcome of this particular experiment until he had gathered all the necessary ingredients and spent the better part of the day preparing them. One could only hope that he could either locate flour, or figure out how to grind the grain fine enough to make himself. For the time being though, he could do nothing more than set out on his hunt.

Fortunately he knew where the apples were by now, and he'd even worked out that the river seemed to have the better quality water. For everything else he needed to do a little bit of scavenging in a process that was likely to take around forty five minutes. Not the worst activity he'd ever had to participate in and while mundane there was something therapuetic about it... more importantly, he had something to look forward to if he managed to get it to work!

A rare smile flickered on to his lips as he began to toss the apples into the basket he had pilfered from Shaowei's 'kitchen' and once he had enough of those, he went about trying to locate the remainder of the ingredients. The last step would be to fetch the water and then he would begin his project in earnest.

Hopefully his efforts would be appreciated, alternatively if it turned out to be a disaster then perhaps it would be something to laugh at. Personally he was going to hope for the former as a small success story was something he could have done with at the moment.

Sure enough in time he had everything he needed and once satisfied with his collected goods he made his back home to begin his culinary adventure.
