Quote: Prompt 7 - Confronting the Creature (1) : Everything about this place tells you that you should not be out at night. The forest turns wicked, a horrible fog rolls in, and a monstrous creature stirs. But you, for whatever reason, decided to be out late. Perhaps you thought you could hunt the creature, or solve some mystery, or perhaps you were simply unlucky. Either way, the creature has found you. This must be a battle, and you must quote the shop mule, Beckoning Chaos, if you wish to pursue this plot. You will need to send a PM to this mule to declare if you intend to escape or be captured, and any special requests or information you need to share! A moderator or GM will be assigned to RP the creature in this roleplay. You may manage to escape into a building if you are close enough into town, however if you manage to do this you will spend the rest of the evening with the creature tormenting you, banging on the house and trying to break in; you will suffer horrible hallucinations and be plagued with paranoia and fear until morning. If you do not manage to seek shelter, or if you would like the creature to break into your shelter, the creature will defeat you in battle and you will pass out. You cannot defeat the monster, but you may learn something about it in battle. If you lose, you will be taken to a cellar with other prisoners and held outside of the city. Please see the below prompt for more information! There had been some sort of rhythm that they had been able to fall into. Even though the days seemed long, and the nights even longer, they had been surviving for a while. Both Clue and Itokawa had managed to find enough food and when they weren't foraging were doing what they could to keep the house that they were living in in good enough shape so that the creature could not break through within it, whatever it was. Clue had never gotten a look at it and frankly he didn't want to. Whatever it was, he knew he had no chance against it, and even if Itokawa was powered up, he had wondered if his partner would even be able to hit the creature. In horror movies there was always only one thing that could defeat such a creature, and they had yet to discover it. And tonight they had been out a bit longer than they should have looking for pieces to be able to fix up the home tomorrow. It was hard to tell just how late it was getting in the town with the sky being so cloudy, and it had caused Clue to incorrectly estimate how much time they had left outside, to the point where they were now having to rush back to their house, sans building materials, just to try to make it in time. Unfortunately, he was not as fast as his partner, but did his best to keep up!

They knew being out at night was dangerous, they'd heard how dangerous it was a few times now. The beast he'd spotted outside once, thankfully it had not seen him, and he didn't ever want to see it again. The worry now, as the hurried home, was that they wouldn't get caught by the beast and they'd beast the fog and mist that brought with it hallucinations. They didn't need that while trying to get home, it would just keep them from getting home.
"We need to beat the mist, remember what we heard it does." They had heard, while out in the village, from others about the mist and so they knew what it could do to them. It wouldn't be good to be caught out in it.
"Hurry." He reached out to grab the others hand and pull him along - hoping to hasten things. He knew that being a senshi made him faster but he was hoping to drag the other with him at a quicker pace. He didn't know if they'd make it but he could hope - he had to. They needed to make it.

The night was surprisingly calm and clear--which made the sudden appearance of fog all that much more alarming. It didn't seem to come from anywhere in particular, and then all of a sudden it was wafting all around them. It seemed to billow towards them from deeper in the forest, from the village, from their sides. There was no telling where the source was--it was only obvious that it was everywhere. And then, in less that a moment, it had completely enveloped them. The walls of white were so thick that it was impossible to see through--and, more than that, impossible to pass through. At least, with any sort of ease. The fog was dense, and it felt like trying to push through a layer of wet mud. The air was cold, and suffocating, and seemed to keep them trapped in a misty little prison. A sensation of dread and foreboding crushed down on the two of them; they were given only a small dome of fresh air to breathe, and something dark and shadowy appeared for a split second in the wall next to them. It was gone too quickly--but reappeared a few yards away on the other side of the foggy wall. It was circling them.

Clue felt better when Itokawa started to pull along, but unfortunately they appeared to be too late getting to safety. Suddenly the fog was all around them and there was no telling where it had been coming from. Honestly, to Clue it looked like it was literally circling them and had come around them all at once! And before he could say anything, there was nothing but white. He didn't try to go in any particular direction, and the only way to tell that Itokawa was still with him was the fact that they were still holding hands. They could breath, he could tell that they didn't appear to be breathing much of the wet dense air in with them, nor was he seeing any horrible visions, but there was nothing to put him at ease now. There was something out there. He knew it was there, and he knew that there was no way to get away from it. "P'Itokawa, we're too late."

As the fog rolled in suddenly filling the area, and surrounding them, it had the senshi stopping in his tracks and pulling Clue against his side. Fog should not move so quick and be so dense, he could feel it pressing in as if it were something solid. It wasn't hard to breath like you'd expect it to be with such a heavy fog, which was at least a good thing, but the fear which had seized him wasn't good. The feeling of fear and dread...terror even. It had him shivering as he clung tighter to Clue.
"Stay close." Something was here...a shadow and then it was there...and then not. What was going on he didn't know but he was suddenly looking all around them, not sure where an attack would come from.
"It's here..." He whispered as he nodded his head. "Yeah...we're too late to get home." And he knew his magic would not be enough - he knew it. This was what he feared - not being able to protect the other. "At least we aren't seeing things like some others said from the fog..." But that wasn't going to help much was it.

The creature's great claw permeated the fog first--and then it's whole body stepped through. It was huge, intimidating, and it was focused on them. It clawed at the ground with its foot, clearly an intimidation tactic as its cold, black eyes focused on them. It drew back, rising to full height, and then slashed at the air; it was too far away to cut them, but the force was strong enough to feel like a push to the chest, for both of them. The fog continued to swirl around them, trapping them--and the beast simply took a step forward, preparing to slash again.

"Whatever this thing is, it's toying with us." Clue said, making his thoughts on the situation known. They weren't going down quickly that was for sure, and it wasn't because they were fighting back. It was as though this thing was teasing or playing with them before it decided to do... whatever it did with those that fell victim to it. Unfortunately for Clue, the creature's tactic worked and while they weren't cut, it had surprised him so much and with the force feeling like a push to the chest, he had let go of Itokawa's hand and fell down, landing on his backside only barely saving himself from being knocked totally unconscious by moving his hands correctly. This didn't mean he was saved though. There was the fog and the creature still there. And if anything it meant that he had just made himself an easier target...

It was, as Clue said, toying with them. It could just come right in and deal with them both - no problem. But it wasn't. It was circling them both...like a shark but sharks didn't toy with food - this thing was. He didn't like it one bit as he felt his stomach knot and almost felt sick, he also honestly felt nervous like he needed to run for a bathroom. It happened when his nerves got this bad, which was rare, but he knew it happened to himself. He didn't feel so good as the beast finally entered their little safe space, though it really wasn't safe at all. A claw first and then it's whole body...it's whole big body.
"It's big..." And there was nothing he could do, he knew it, against this monster. He just hoped it didn't kill them. "I'm sorry Clue." Sorry for getting the other involve din this part of his life, as if by telling Clue about his powered life he'd brought this upon the other.
He didn't get to say more as the monster slashed at them...but not? It was too far away from them to do any physical damage, or so he thought, the wind that hit into them pushed him back and knocked him off his feet. Landing on the grounds with a umph, surprised by what had happened, he lay there for some moments dazed and feeling a pressure on his chest. It was like he'd been pushed hard in the chest, but nothing had touched him.
From where he was on the ground he reached out, towards the beast, and hoped his magic would work and do something - anything. "Dance for me." The words were spoken, his magic sent to do something, before he was looking for Clue to make sure the other was ok.
Beckoning Chaos Sailor Scout Attack: Dance for me. Holding out both hands, palms down, he calls out his attack. From the ground, in a five foot circle around Itokawa mushrooms will sprout and anyone within this ring of mushrooms will feel the need to dance. It's a strong need but for those will a strong will they will be able to fight this need. Also if someone dances/steps/is pulled out of this circle the spell will be broken. Itokawa himself is not affected by his magic. It can be used three times in battle and lasts for 30 seconds each time.

It wasn't easy to see the monster in the swirling mess of fog; the magic seemed to distract it, at least. Circled by the fairy rings, the creature began to sway. It was rhythmic, almost hypnotic, and its figure was only slightly visible as the fog swirled around it. The waves of white seemed to move in--choking, binding; even as it danced slightly in place, eyes cold and on its targets, it seemed to roll its wrists as if to guide the thick air towards them. It was cold and damp and the moment this fresh wave of fog hit them it almost felt like they'd been doused with icy water, only no matter how hard they coughed, they couldn't push it away. It was smothering, and the odd hallucinogenic properties didn't help. Walls of blackness, and falling, seemed to try and fill their minds even as the fog filled their lungs. The beast, as it swayed from the magic, let out a low growl that reverberated in the pit of its throat. It was a threatening sound, and its chest was puffing out. It wanted its prey, and the easiest thing to do to stop attacks was to just make them sleep. It wouldn't suffocate them to death. But it was trying to get them halfway there, now.

Well, Clue had to admit that Itokawa had done something to the beast. Not enough to stop it and for a moment it made him wonder just how powerful the magic was supposed to be that Itokawa had, but that thought was cut short as the fog started to get thicker. If Clue hadn't been able to feel the fog before, he could now and it felt like he was drowning. He staggered, bumping into Itokawa a bit and he could feel his legs failing underneath him. He managed to catch himself on his hands, but he wouldn't be up much longer. "Don't..." He gasped, "think it worked..." He said as he felt the world go black in front of him and finally losing consciousness, unable to fight off the fog any longer.

At least his magic had seemed to do something, even if it wasn't a lot, and it certainly wasn't enough to stop the beast from continuing it's attack on them. Reaching to grasp at Clue's hand he couldn't handle when the other stumbled, his own balance giving out.
The cold was cold, cold enough he was shivering as he hit the ground next to Clue, shivering and finding it harder and harder to breath. He managed just enough to whisper an apology to Clue. Tears gathered in his eyes as he couldn't fight longer. He had brought the other into this, he was sure, and this was his fault. If they died...if Clue died.
As his eyes slipped closed he still was glad they'd met again...that they'd set aside their past issue. He was also glad his magic had done something, even if it wasn't a lot. It had done something and he'd shown this beast that he wasn't so weak and that he could do something to it.
But then his eyes were closed and he was lost to the darkness.
