Prompt 4: The village always has dull weather during the daytime, but it's easy enough to navigate through. Though the sky is cloudy and little light breaks through, by nighttime the climate changes. The air cools rapidly and within an hour of the sun setting, a chilling mist rolls from the forest and covers the village. It is almost suffocating and inhaling it even for only a moment will result in hallucinations. The visions are terrifying, often including shadows covering everything, the sensation of eternal falling, and the appearance of a great beast attacking. These hallucinations are always frightening and can last anywhere from a few moments through the entire night. There is no way to dispel the fog and it is too dangerous to stay outside past sundown.
Glen and Thierry, both outside for a bit, to simply cool off and unwind had reached their temporary home at the same time, managing to bump into one another, glen running straight into Thierry's chest. "s**t, sorr---oh, I'm hey?" Glen said, awkwardly, Thierry responding with a quieter hey. It remained awkward, before Glen finally coughed, looking away. "I'm uh, sorry I freaked out? That's not normally me, I wouldn't actually...care though?" He finished, not looking at the taller man. Thierry was touched, he guess,Glen wasn't very good at this it seemed. Thierry intended to respond, but at that time, he noticed a strange fog in the dark, from the forest. Great, fantastic. Thierry took Glen's hand in his own, moving toward the door. "I accept the apology, and you'll just have to find out when we're out of this crazy place but for now we need to---damn!" As he talked, he tried to open the apparently locked door, he turned to the blond. "You didn't happen to lock this before you left did you?" Glen, confused, shook his head. "No, it didn't even look like the doors could lock anymore. I'll try." He tried the door, with the same results, the door just wouldn't budge, and he could hear a growling in the fog now, something that sounded eerily like..."Dogs..." He whispered, trying the door a bit harder. Thierry didn't seem to like that either, for he also tried. Eventually the two gave up and ran, which, had they been thinking clearly, would have realized was a mistake. The two ran for some time, until they saw an alley between two of the houses, and ducked into it. As they regained their breath, , Glen looked to Thierry. "What the hell!?! You hadn't seen them before either right!?!?" Thierry schools his head, looking as scared as Glen felt. "No! You think if I had I would have ever gone out!?! One of those bastards tried to take a chunk out of my tail once!" The quiet after that was nearly oppressive. Glen didn't actually think he'd say it. He shrugged, this wasn't really the time to care, he did have a question though. "Since you are...you know, and don't deny it, you literally just told me, can't you use your talking cat magic to stop this?" So sue him, he didn't really talk to the cats much. Thierry frowned. "No, I've only been like this for uh, three months? It's all weird, I have magic!?!?" Dammit, the guy was new, that was just great. And they certainly didn't have time to address that, because the ground went from stable one second, to screaming dark hell mouth the next, which the two were now falling through. And when Glen said screaming he meant it, for he could hear screaming that wasn't just his and Thierrys as the two fell and fell and fell. It felt as if they were going to fall forever, until with a dizzying lurch, the two landed in the house? Oh, Glen did not like this at all. The two looked at one another, and simultaneously exclaimed. "We need to get out of here."
