The scream seemed to be enough to will the beast into existence--
a few yards away from her. Whatever strange sensation she had felt must have been a hallucination of the fog; as soon as she cast her magic, the hallucination behind her disappeared.
The creature itself remained, though, only a few feet away. It took another step towards her, hands opening and closing as though it were
itching to attack. It's black eyes were locked on her and there was something almost hungry about them.
As the fog continued to swirl around her, to grip and pull at her, it seemed like more hallucinations were popping up in the misty whiteness, and it was difficult to see what was real and what was fake.
If she wanted to escape, she was going to need to find some place that was open and unlocked and
hope that she could lock the door and secure it enough before the creature caught up with her.
