Once a house is damaged, it is not safe to return to unless it is repaired before nightfall. The creature can splinter wood, claw at bricks, and crack or shatter glass. It can wail like a banshee and can linger for moments or hours throughout the night. It is always gone before sunrise.

Silistra was still outside since she had not found a house to stay in yet, she was really nervous as the sun started to get lower in the sky she was worried that she would be too late to find shelter and she would be kidnapped by one of the monsters. She looked around but many of the houses were already taken and full of people. She was too nervous to ask anyone if she could stay with them. She stayed home alone so often she wasn't used to talking to others. She rubbed her arms as she walked along through the village. She held her silver lamp to her chest and worried she would get caught out here in the dark.

Paracelsian had been watching this Page go back and forth for a while, he reckoned. A nervous little thing like her wouldn't stand a chance if the mystery ghoul haunting the village caught up to her. If only someone would reach out and take her in. What was such a beast capable of, anyway? Would it actually kill anyone it found, or did it have some other goal in mind? There was no point in questioning that intent. The beast was a threat no matter what. Now, if only someone would take this girl in... seriously, where were the other members of Order? Why was no one stepping up? Sighing heavily and knowing he'd probably pay for it later, he popped out of the little house he'd claimed and gestured for the Page to come in. (It was a lucky find and he probably wouldn't be able to hold onto it for too long, he figured.) "Quit wandering around like that," Paracelsian whisper-hissed. "If you stay out, someone is going to go in for an easy shot." He hoped that no one would be stupid enough to go starseed hunting in such uncertain territory, but he didn't give many people the credit.

Silistra blinked as she heard someone whisper hissing at her, she was at a loose for words as she looked at the figure before her. She felt like she wanted to cry, he was scolding her but she had nowhere to go. She wiped her eyes unsure of what to say. "Umm, I have nowhere to go." She said softly "Most of the houses seem to be full and I don't know anyone to ask if I can stay with them." She also was far too nervous to ask a stranger if she could stay with them in this strange village.

Paracelsian shook his head. The girl totally missed his meaning. "Dense is a bad thing to be in your position. I'm trying to help you. In case you need me to explicitly declare it: you are allowed to stay in this house. With me. I offer a suspension of cross-faction hostilities in this space, meaning you can rest without fear." The temptation to inquire about a draining donation was there, but what good would it do? There was nowhere to make a dropoff here. Maybe he could cash in on a favor when they all got out of here. Nonetheless, he acted on the assumption that she'd still be too afraid to come in. "You can take a chance and come in with me, or you can stay outside and let an unknown but most likely awful fate befall you. It's up to you." He was being a bit forceful and cold, but he felt that being direct was the way to go.

Silistra blinked she hadn't thought this harsh grumpy fellow would invite her to stay with him. She blinked again "Well that isn't much of a promise haven't you heard anyone who fights disappears, if we fought we would both be taken away." She said softly but went toward the house anyway. It wasn't like she had much of a choice after all if she stayed outside the same would happen if she fought this person. She sighed softly and then said "I am Silistra Page of Saturn." She wasn't sure if he would care who she was, but she was still going to be polite.

The shocked blinking was kind of cute, even as it was kind of pitiable. Poor girl was utterly lost in this mess. Paracelsian took her words into consideration. "Ah, so the disappearances are triggered by fights that don't involve the monster as well? Good to know. Thank you for the information." He paused as the Page introduced herself, then tipped his hat and did the same. "Captain Paracelsian, at your service. You have nothing to fear here." He stepped away from the door, hoping that Silistra would take a clue and come on in. If she didn't, he would jump out and drag her in, no matter how suspect that looked. When a situation was odd regardless of faction, there wasn't much time to care about appearances. He could explain himself if he had to, and besides, he'd show up with her still alive in the morning. Not much to defend there.

Silistra nodded and went into the house since she had little choice and if they fought who knew what would happen to them, besides considering she was a page and he was a Captain she had a pretty good idea what would happen if she attempted to fight him and it wouldn't result in anything good for her. She was pretty sure she would get squished by him if she attempted to fight him. "Well thank you anyway." She said softly as she moved so he could close the door and they would both be safe. "If there is anything I can help you with." She offered. "Perhaps tomorrow I can help you find food or something?"
