Everything was the same. Always the same.
The Squire of Pluto had been out here for an hour? Two, three? He wasn't sure. The sun didn't seem to have moved in the sky but he felt that the time had passed. Or, maybe he was just so frustrated that he hadn't found anything in all of his searching. He looked behind him, over his shoulder, and could still make out the same stony house he'd been using as a reference point for the past--
However long he'd been out here.
Mamertine's lip curled but he did a fine job of keeping his expression otherwise fairly passive. He closed his eyes, breathed, and tried again.
He could see the wall of trees in front of him. He walked twenty steps forward and looked behind him--and the house was still there. Right where it had been.
He moved twenty feet to the left and tried again.
When he looked back, the house was still there, albeit, now he was twenty feet to the left of it.
He'd been at this all afternoon, testing the 'circle' around the village, but so far everywhere he tried seemed to yield the same result. He knew there were others in the village, and he was getting hungry so he might have to take a break soon. He didn't want to lose his place, but...
An energy signature nearby caught his attention, another knight. A page, but he didn't think rank really mattered. If they were out there, maybe they'd found out something he didn't. Rolling his shoulders to try and relax a bit, he gave one last look into the endless forest, and then moved towards the purple shape he could now see between the trees.
He wasn't necessarily social, but this was a time where they needed to work together, at least somewhat, so as he approached, he nodded in greeting and asked, "Found much luck with anything out here?"

Silistra was a shy and nervous person in general so being in this village with so many others and trying to get by was really odd for her. She would much rather be back home perhaps volunteering to help February taking care of animals or volunteering as a hospital volunteer to help cheer up those stuck in hospitals, not that she would be great at that since she wasn't the cheerful sort. She headed out into the forest to see if she could find anything that would help her get out of this place so she could get home. First, she attempted to go straight but no matter how long she walked which felt like hours she could still see the village. She huffed a bit tired as she walked but still seemed to be getting nowhere. She didn't know anything about being a page of Saturn she had only awakened her powers right before being dragged into the village, so she knew nothing about being a knight so far. Perhaps if she did know something it would help her now, or perhaps not since she thought there were other knights stuck here too. She caught sight of a figure in the foods and she stopped unsure if they were a forest creature that might attack her.

Mamertine gave the girl a look; she seemed like she had noticed him, and that was something of a relief. He didn't want to be out here, talking to no one and not making much progress of anything, so he waved a hand just slightly to make sure she knew he was addressing her.
"You look like you're having the same problem I'm having."
He glanced to where she had been trying to walk and then back to where he had come from.
"I don't suppose you've found any luck in making it too far out of the village?"

Silistra nodded and then shook her head and sighed "No I haven't figured much of anything out yet, let alone this village and forest, no matter how far I walk I can still see the village, I take it it is the same for you?" She said looking the figure over, seeing they appeared human, not monstrous. "I am Silistra page of Saturn." She said softly. She figured using her normal name Embly wouldn't be a good idea since this outfit certainly wasn't normal. Not to mention she was carrying her page weapon her unlit silver lamp. She felt a little odd introducing herself as a page but she wasn't sure what else to do.

Mamertine nodded to indicate he had met the same fate as she had so far. "It's nice to meet you, Silistra." He gestured to himself, "Mamertine, Squire of Pluto."
He planted his hand son his hips and sighed, glancing back at the village, and then deep into the forest where they couldn't seem to reach. "I don't understand this place." He doubted anyone really did, though.
"I don't suppose you've ever been anywhere quite like this?" he chanced, figuring it might be best to try and piece together if things like this were common enough that he shouldn't worry, or to figure out how long it would take to get home.
...He had so much paperwork waiting for him.

Silistra smiled shyly but she had no idea what she was doing so asking Mamertine was her best chance of learning about knights. "Umm can you tell me about knights? I really don't know anything." She said blushing. She shook her head "No I've never seen anything like this before ever." She sighed and stopped to look around and saw the village yet again. "There has to be a way out of here there just has to be." She felt like she wanted to cry so helpless to figure any of this out. She didn't know how to be a knight or deal with so many people and now she had no choice but to work with others to survive.

Mamertine paused and looked at her for a moment before things seemed to click in place. He wasn't very easy to read, but he slowly found himself asking, "You...don't know about Knights?"
A few seconds passed and then he asked, "How long have you been a Page for? --Or involved in this war for?"
He watched her carefully, trying to pick up anything he could beyond just the words she was saying. She looked shy, so he supposed she might be nervous--but in this environment, he didn't know if that was indicative of much--it made sense to be wary given the circumstances.

Silistra was really nervous she wasn't sure if she should tell someone she just met that she had only found her weapon right before they had ended up here, but if she didn't tell someone how would she find someone to teach her about being a knight? Unless she was just going to bumble about figuring everything out on her own as she often had to do since her parents were to busy to teach her anything. "Umm well.. I.." She mumbled "You see.." She paused and blushed a deep red. She felt rather foolish and she didn't know she would end up here as Page Silistra but here she was dealing with all this without a clue. "How long have we been stuck here? I've lost track of time." She blushed again.

Mamertine opened his mouth to answer that he thought it had been a few days, maybe no more than a week, but he was already putting the pieces together.
"You've only been a knight for a few days? --Did you power up before we got here, or after we reached the village?"
His brows were furrowed just slightly, the only real hint of emotion that showed on his face. There was no judgment; he only had a desire to know the facts and figure out whatever it was that they were working with.

Silistra sighed "Right before we got here pretty much literally I was helping someone and I found my lamp." She held up her silver lamp that had the symbol of Saturn on it. "I transformed for the first time and then ended up here with everyone else, it was very shocking and confusing and then I was unable to turn back into me so I've been Silistra ever since." She blushed "I suppose I've messed up being a knight already if I can't figure out how to turn back to my normal form." She sighed not really understanding this place messed things up.

Mamertine drew in a breath and exhaled, planting his hands on his hips as he looked at her. The information wasn't exactly easy to swallow, but he couldn't imagine anyone in their right minds thinking it was fair or just to leave her out here on her own, with no answers at all.
"No, you haven't messed up," he assured. "I can't go back to myself, either. It's this place, not you. It's safer that you don't go back to yourself for now, anyway. You're not in safe company. There are those out there, you'll feel them, like vermin, pinging inside your mind. The Negaverse, Corrupted Senshi, Dark Mirror Senshi. I would say, quite firmly, anyone wearing dark colors is not to be trusted. They are enemies, who think they are above the law, and who justify taking what isn't theirs and killing whomever they please to further their goal. Everyone walks their own path in this war, but be careful of them more so than most. I'm sorry you had to awaken before you could learn things naturally. There is a world out there, a little place on Saturn, that is a realm of your own. If we were back home, you could travel there in seconds and see. But here..."
He looked to the village, and then to the unending forest they didn't seem able to escape from.
"We are severely limited. If you seek answers, I will share what I know. Though, I do not profess to be any teacher or mentor in this."

Silistra sighed out again when she heard this wasn't her fault, that she hadn't failed at being a knight before she even got started. She listened and looked down at her purple dress certainly a light color. "Well, I'm glad I'm on the side of good I don't know what I would have done if I was on the side of darkness." She looked very nervous about the idea. She wanted to help others not hurt them. "I hope I get to see it soon." She said very softly "I don't like it here, it's scary and with what you said there are enemies everywhere. Why were we all put here?" She frowned "Also have you heard those who fight each other go missing?" She smiled a little at the last thing he said "Anything you can tell me would be helpful." She said in a soft tone.

"If you had awakened on the side of darkness, you might not even know it," he answered honestly. "...It's easy to be caught up in things and be misled. Especially when you're new. But you have to follow your own path and take everything with a grain of salt."
He didn't have many alliances, but it had worked out well for him so far. It meant he'd stayed out of trouble and didn't have much drama to deal with.
He had all the freedom he needed to do what he needed to do.
He answered her question quickly though, choosing not to dwell for any longer than necessary. "I have heard about people disappearing, but I don't know why we were put here. This is...abnormal." More so than being a Knight to begin with. "...Do you believe in magic, in destiny?"

Silistra shivered the thought of not even knowing you were on the side of darkness was a scary thought. She frowned "This isn't something that happens often? That is a scary thought." She said softly as she looked around and wondered why they were brought here and how they were going to get home. She considered the question and then said "I think I have to the lamp found me I didn't find my lamp." She held it close to her chest. "I just felt a connection to it, it felt important special somehow you know?" She asked in a soft tone.

Mamertine shook his head. "It's not normal to be whisked away like this, it's not usually this bad. But." He looked at her lamp, and then summoned his own weapon--a giant gavel, that looked like a hammer and the hilt was easily as long as his entire arm. "We all have weapons. As you grow in power, they get more useful. They get magic, even. To help you protect yourself from the darkness and those who serve it. I suppose our job is to stop that darkness from spreading. But no one's going to fault you if you don't want to be involved in a war you didn't sign up for. If you use your strength for anything, use it to keep yourself safe. To protect those who cannot protect themselves. But don't throw yourself in harm's danger just because you think you have to, all right?"
