Prompt 6: The little village is unnaturally empty and devoid of all life sans that which came from Destiny City. To add to the eeriness of everything, sometimes a small area will randomly feel cold and unnerving more than the rest of the town. Close investigation of the area will result in finding a small piece of weathered metal; you can just barely make out runes carved into it, but it's not large enough for you to make out anything. As soon as the metal is picked up, the mood in the area immediately fades and, oddly, you feel safer holding it. You may only find one of these per character!

She knew by now that going out at night was dangerous, terribly so, and even peeking out a window wasn't smart. She'd heard the noises late at night from other homes. Nephthys was trying to go it alone and keep to her home and go out only when she needed to during the day time. She didn't want to risk someone causing a problem where she would get harmed as well - she needed to get out of here. She did wonder where the original villagers were and what had happened...where the monster outside at night had come from originally...what had brought it here.

She was sure she'd get no answer if she remained at home all the time, aside from when she went to collect food to eat. So today she'd decided to try and explore and that meant heading out of her home and heading for the woods...she was sure something was there. Even if it was just a river or remains of something...anything to help in some way - any way!

Dusting off her uniform the senshi of vampire's headed out of the village and tow2ards the woods.

Xyla, on her part, had left the home she had been staying in early in the morning. The light of day wasn't present for more than an hour when she set out to explore the woods a bit more.

There were rumors floating around the village; rumors of strange objects found in peculiar pieces. A senshi had been chatting with one of her white moon comrade's about some weathered piece of metal while a general discussed with one of the corrupts what the symbols, or possibly words, drawn on the talismans might mean. None of the humans cared to share their findings with her, not that she was surprised, she was just some no-named mauvian along for the ride which is why she set out to find a few of these trinkets for herself.

It wasn't long before she felt a distinct White Moon aura approaching her from behind, but seeing as the monsters were attracted to the use of magic, she didn't have much to fear. "Does the wayward wanderer have a destination in mind? Or does she simply seek solitude from the surrounding strangeness?" The mauvian purred as she lept from the side of a fallen tree onto the moss-covered ground and walked over to the brunet with that curious Cheshire grin that made her curious eyes glisten with intrigue.

"No place in mind but rather a need to find whatever I can to help us in leaving here. The house I've been in offers nothing so perhaps in these woods something can be found. A path, water, left off remains of people or objects...anything to tell us something." Be it small or big she was hoping for anything that could be of any use, whether in getting out of here or in making it easier while they were stuck here. Though she would prefer something which would help with escaping from here.

"I already have enough solitude as I'm not sharing the little home I've claimed. I don't want to trust someone else to not bring trouble to my door." Not that she figured anyone would want to bring trouble to her door right now as it would be trouble for them also. She didn't trust people she didn't know from bringing it by accident.

"What are you doing out here cat?" Approaching the cat slowly, they did serve chaos after all. "What should I call you?"

Xyla's tail swayed calmly behind her, the long fur shifting with the almost lazy motion. "You seek my name but hide your own." She observed with an added hum but kept her own name secret for now.

"I seek answers to an unsolvable puzzle. Too many pieces missing." the blue-furred mauvian tapped one of the metal pieces with her paw to show that two seemed to possibly line up but the third she had found didn't look like it went with either. "Help me find more and I will tell you who I am."

"Do we have a deal?" Xyla purred, her yellow-moon colored eyes glowed with anticipation and hope.

"Nephythys, I don't have a reason to hide it." Though it was perhaps a bit of a mouth full. "Senshi of vampires." Something like this should be right up her alley and yet it wasn't - far from it. Maybe in the ancient past this would have been fitting for who she had been...but as she was now - no.

Looking over the slip of metal the cat had found she nodded her head slowly. "No, the third doesn't seem to go. But do you think they have to match or fit together? Perhaps they are random." Though she did agree to help the cat with finding more, to see which answer might be correct. She did want to know and she wanted to help - this was why she was out here in the first place.

"Perhaps these things will help us n escaping."

Intrigued by the Senshi's sphere, Xyla's pupils expanded to the point of nearly eclipsing her golden irises.

"Escape, perhaps." The mauvian gave an eloquent shrug, doubtful that these little metal pieces would be their salvation. At most they might provide an answer to the questions of why they were brought here, where exactly is here, and what happened to the people who lived here previously. "You might be right, Vampire. What might have been broken may actually be whole and not related to the other beside it." Trying to force rune lines to match if only to make some sense of the strange objects only got her so far.

"However, there is something else that is not quite right." Golden eyes settled on the Senshi and Xyla looked up at her with a cheshire-like grin. "Tell me. Why do you venture out here on your own when there are other Senshi and Knights back at the village you could partner with? Do you not trust your comrades or do you prefer to wander alone?"

As a mauvian there wasn't much she could do to help out other than wander the woods or offer moral support and direction if needed. Hands were a bit of a necessity to cook, to build, to collect; as it was that was simply not a luxury she had right now.

"I don't know them beyond knowing what uniform they wear. I don't want to trust people that I don't know...who might unintentionally bring trouble to my door." Not to mentio0n the only two senshi she'd really worked with, and had gotten along with, had vanished on her. She didn't want to get close to anyone, not yet anyway, she didn't want more people to just up and vanish on her. She didn't think either was dead per say...but they were out of her life for whatever reason.

"The runes might fit together...but not in an order we can tell. I doubt we can find them all, however many there might be, and fit them all together." Without knowing how many there were it was impossible to know what they fit together to make. The other issue was it wasn't like a jigsaw puzzle where you co9uld see parts of the picture on each one...so you knew what went together by making the picture and colors fit together.

"We might as well be on some other planet for all we know about this place." It seemed similar enough. Remains left behind by people...and no people. Nothing they could read and no understanding of what written things they had found - the runes.

"You sound lonely," The mauvian observed. "Is it betrayal or loss that turns sweet dreams to wicked nightmares?"

Xyla walked a circle around the Senshi's feet, brushing her long tail against bare skin. A hint of the soft warmth that could replace the bitter truth of the war they all fought.

"Loss, the only two other senshi I was close with have vanished. One I'm sure has gone back to civilian life - it's important. The other I don't know." And she had been struggling, a lot, to care about being a senshi and to do things. The only thing which brought her back to powering up, to doing her duty, was after that ambush o the training gathering. That had snapped something in her mind and got her caring.

Bending at the knees she reached out to pet the cat. For now it was ok to talk to chaos - they needed each other. The cat wasn't going to sway her mind to the other side but she needed someone to talk to. She needed to work on things and the cat was of a similar enough mind that this could work.

"That is what is wrong with your side." Xyla rubbed the side of her face against her open palm affectionately. However, nothing more was said to explain what exactly was broken as she was sure Nephythys already knew

"Do we continue looking or go back to the village?"

"I say we continue and see if we can't collect more of these bits of metal. If you want we can return to my home and see what we can make of them." They could lay them out on the living room floor and try and see fi anything made sense or if anything even happened with the bits of metal they'd collect.

"I can pocket them away till we get to my place and then pull all the pieces out and we can take a look at them. They have to serve some purpose. People don't do things for nothing...not when it takes time and resources which can go to other things." And the metal bits could be used for other things, she was sure, as well as whatever time it took to engrave them...plus the tools to do it.

Xyla hummed then shook her head. “I appreciate the offer. However, I will hold onto mine.” With a swipe of her paw she opened her own subspace pocket and stowed away her findings. “When we get back to the village we can investigate their curiosities further.”

And… perhaps she could convince this Vampire Senshi to join her cause if she is so discontent with her own faction. Nephythys might make a good companion for Valeria if they made it out of here and returned home in one piece. That poor girl needed some more companions around her to keep her in line with their cause, otherwise, Xyla was sure the Corrupt Senshi of Brains was sure to start drifting.

“Lead on Wayward Wanderer.” The mauvian circled the brunet, brushing her soft tail against the side of her leg as a bit of a gentle nudge.

"Of course, you hold onto yours and I'll old onto mine. Hopefully they prove useful." Though she did figure most things served some sort of purpose, whether you knew what the purpose was didn't matter. So it was likely they had a use...but would it help them in some manner? That was yet to be seen.

"Want me to carry you back to the village?" Already bending as she questioned the mauvian who was rubbing against her legs. It was nice to have the affection of a cat, she missed hers at home, even if this was a mauvian who served chaos. It was still a friendly cat and right now she was willing to00 put factions aside...for now. They needed to get out of here, she needed to get out of here, and it might just mean the enemy helped in that. Even if the help gained was only because they wanted to free themselves of this place. It as fine...for now. For now it was all good. It had to be.

Scooping up the cat she did in fact lead the way home.
