Quote:
Prompt 7 - Confronting the Creature (1) : Everything about this place tells you that you should not be out at night. The forest turns wicked, a horrible fog rolls in, and a monstrous creature stirs. But you, for whatever reason, decided to be out late. Perhaps you thought you could hunt the creature, or solve some mystery, or perhaps you were simply unlucky. Either way, the creature has found you. This must be a battle, and you must quote the shop mule, Beckoning Chaos, if you wish to pursue this plot. You will need to send a PM to this mule to declare if you intend to escape or be captured, and any special requests or information you need to share! A moderator or GM will be assigned to RP the creature in this roleplay. You may manage to escape into a building if you are close enough into town, however if you manage to do this you will spend the rest of the evening with the creature tormenting you, banging on the house and trying to break in; you will suffer horrible hallucinations and be plagued with paranoia and fear until morning. If you do not manage to seek shelter, or if you would like the creature to break into your shelter, the creature will defeat you in battle and you will pass out. You cannot defeat the monster, but you may learn something about it in battle. If you lose, you will be taken to a cellar with other prisoners and held outside of the city. Please see the below prompt for more information!

It had been a mistake to be out this late. Geocronite had overestimated how long he was going to be out and now was paying for it. It was dark. There were no lights except for the small amount that managed to peak out of the clouds, but even then it was almost pitch black. He had nothing to even use for lighting, and only could tell where he was going as the trees would not let him go any further. The only other way he could go was back into town.

But it was dark, which meant that the thing would be out and about and unless he managed to get into a house, whatever it was that had happened to some of the others, it would happen to him as well. Even if he got into a shelter, that didn't guarantee he would last the night. All he could do when he was found, not if, was try to do the best he could against it. If he did die fighting it, at least it wouldn't be from some Negaverse Agent destroying his starseed...

Geo is going to lose the battle and be captured (a bit backdated)

For the most part, the forest was eerily still. The trees seemed more like statues than living things, and there were no bugs or animals to disturb the silence.

Which meant, the only things that moved were unnatural--and dangerous.

The fog was the single, sole exception to the stillness--and that, perhaps more than anything else, was worth being concerned about.

The fog did not travel alone. It was accompanied, almost always, by the beast.

Geocronite's haste was not enough to save him from its attention; as he hurried, the fog began to curl around his legs. Waves of it caught up to him and seemed to thicken and it quickly felt more like traveling through mud than it did hurrying across soft grass.

Strangely, it felt like little hands grabbing at him, latching onto his legs, his ankles, gripping desperately and trying to slow him down--trying to pull him back, down into the fog.

Before he realized it, Geo had actually slowed down, to the point where he felt as though he could barely move! Looking down didn't show anything in particular other than fog around his boots. As though it were now alive. It didn't appear to be trying to force him to see whatever horrible visions that others had described, but he knew that it was too late trying to get away. The fog was here, and unless the beast was elsewhere and he could slowly make his way back to his temporary home, he would have to face it.

And if the fog kept up and forced him to move his legs so slowly, he didn't even stand less than a percent of a chance.

Still, he had to do something, and tried to lift one of his legs higher and see if he couldn't move them that way. It would be slower and use more energy, but at least he would still be moving.

Even with his attempt to move, the fog seemed to have an iron grip on him. It was more than just stopping him from leaving--it was about making him easier to hunt.

Even as the strange, foggy hands grabbed at him and tried to drag him into the thick white wall of fog, something seemed to cause it to stir, just in the distance. At first, it was just a shadow. It stepped forward and grew bigger, darker.

In seconds, the towering figure appeared, looking down at the agent.

It drew its shoulders up and arched its back before puffing its chest out and screeching at Geocronite. It was an impressive bellow, loud enough to disorient and hurt--but, more than that, the strange, hallucinogenic fog billowed from its mouth. It was thick enough that when the smoky haze crashed against Geocronite's face, it felt like it was suffocating.

The fact that his feet were pretty much stuck wasn't the worst part of it. That he could have accepted but it felt like the beast was taunting him at this point. Instead of going in for the "kill" right away it decided to come at him slowly and then screeched in his face. What the h*** was that supposed to do other than make his ears ring and move his hands to cover them in a futile attempt to make sure he didn't suffer any hearing loss?!

At this point Geo knew he couldn't do much of anything. He was stuck, though he managed to summon one of his weapons and tossed it at the creature, as if it would do anything. But perhaps it would distract it enough so that the fog around his legs would disappear? He doubted it but he hadn't tried it yet.

That was when the hallucinogenic fog came out, and appeared that either the creature could make the fog or was a part of it, but immediately Geo felt his breath leave his lungs and his world go black. Well, this death wasn't that amazing was it...
