Pyrrha's story begins when she was left in a basket by a door into Watchpoint: Gibraltar alongside a sword with a red colored hilt. At the time, it had been just after the reformed Overwatch had returned to the watchpoint after the attack in Paris. An errant stone from the one who had left her there knocked the sword over to cause a loud enough thud upon the door that Tracer noticed and went to check on it, finding the infant with a note showing her name to be Pyrrha Edwards. Tracer wasn't able to move the sword herself as it was surprisingly hefty for its size so she called Reinhardt to bring it in, which had him commenting on the sturdy make of it as he brought it into Winston's lab at the scientists request. Dr. Ziegler would take the infant Pyrrha to be checked over to make sure nothing was ailing the baby. The test found genetic makeup that puzzled the doctor but otherwise no ailments were found so she arranged for formula to feed infant Pyrrha with. Meanwhile Winston and Tracer discussed the note as he attempted to discern what material was used to make the sword that had been left with the baby.

Over the next several months Pyrrha grew both physically and mentally at an alarming rate of effectively one month being a year of normal human development. During this time Reinhardt and Winston found delight in teaching the growing girl, Reinhardt also making sure she kept active enough that her physical development was normal. Echo and Mercy were concerned at the rapid growth and so kept a wary eye on the child as much as they could. One day Pyrrha happened across an unloaded Taurus Judge revolver and asked Tracer if she could learn how to shoot in case bad people came to the watchpoint, which Tracer said that they'd need Winston's approval to do so beforehand. Attaining the approval Pyrrha began learning how to shoot in addition to her education and now basic hand to hand combat to protect herself. During the hand to hand training Reinhardt discovered that Pyrrha's strength was immense for her size, though why was discovered by Mercy's continued inspection of the unusual genetic markers. She deduced that a quarter of Pyrrha's genetic make up was that of a, rather crudely, bio-engineered creature that is much stronger and tougher than humans are. It was also discovered that this part of Pyrrha's genetics was also causing her to develop as fast as she is. Shortly after this revelation Pyrrha happened across an old Sony Playstation and a copy of the game Final Fantasy VIII. She would use a time when the Overwatch agents who had been taking care of her were out on their own missions to play through the game, becoming inspired by the concept of the gunblade within the game, particularly the one on the packaging. Just before Winston returned from his mission she drew up a set of plans to make one she could use both in melee and at range. She'd by then found the .45 Colt rounds of her Taurus Judge didn't feel strong enough to her so she asked Athena's help to pick out a more potent round to design her new weapon to use. In the end she picked out the .500 Smith and Wesson magnum rounds as the comparison she saw made it seem just right for once she was fully grown.

Shortly after Pyrrha finished the draft for her gunblade design capable of both ranged and melee combat Winston came into the lab where she had drawn it up, taking a look at the design over her shoulder. "Interesting idea there, I could add a couple touches for the final version if you'd like." The scientist offered, which was quickly accepted by Pyrrha who then asked if she could examine the circuits of an old model of Tracer's harness so she could understand it better. Winston agreed as long as she did so in the containment room so any issues could be stopped quickly. Pyrrha then brought the original chronal accelerator Winston made for Tracer into the containment room to open up and examine each section of the circuits at a time and note what they did. While she did so Winston adjusted the design for the gunblade, most notably changing the grip to be slightly similar to that of a rifle's stock so that it could rest underneath the arm to steady its aim while allowing less strain on the wrist when shooting it. As he was distracted by the alterations to the design he didn't see the warning sign of a chronal energy spike within the containment until Pyrrha was engulfed in an orb of it and an alarm went off which pulled him out of his focus. "NO!" He'd yell as he jumped to do everything he could think of to stop the abnormal energies. Unfortunately nothing worked and the orb only subsided a couple hours later when Tracer was in to check and he was out of the lab worried that unlike with Tracer he wouldn't be able to help Pyrrha remain in the time stream. After the orb of energy subsided Tracer went in to check on Pyrrha, finding her now fully grown to roughly the same physical age as herself. "Woah love, are you alright?" Tracer would ask, to which Pyrrha would rapidly move away from the now completely drained harness until her back hit a wall. Tracer used one of Winston's lab coats to cover up Pyrrha as the clothes she'd had on were now scraps. Helping Pyrrha up she led the young woman to her own room so she could lend her some clothes until they get Pyrrha clothes of her own. Winston coming to the door and apologizing to Pyrrha for not catching it right away. After that he went to the lab and got to work on a side project he had been working on since Pyrrha had been found at the door.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 20, 2020 1:29 am

Winston's side project was his attempt at recreating the metal of the sword Pyrrha had been found with. While he was finishing up that, and then using such to make the gunblade for Pyrrha, Tracer took Pyrrha out to buy some new clothes to fit her now adult body. Brigitte had joined them to help with getting Pyrrha situated clothing wise. In the end of the shopping trip, they got her a number of plain tee shirts, comfortable underwear sets (both pieces), a few pairs of simple blue jeans as few had even decent pockets, and a pair of boots which Pyrrha had noted she could modify with relative ease. Pyrrha already having some ideas for how to add micro thrusters to the boots for herself to use for either minor hovering or, if she could get the anti-gravity grenades working, slow midair movement. As they were returning to Gibraltar Pyrrha was struggling with her now floor length hair, noticing such Brigitte offered to teach her how to braid her hair so it wouldn't be so long, which Pyrrha gladly accepted. As they were approaching the entrance to Gibraltar they noted how convenient it happened to be that Pyrrha and Tracer had the same measurements, allowing them to easily get clothes for each other.

Bringing the new clothes to her room in the Watchpoint Pyrrha sat down to be taught how to braid her hair by Brigitte so it wasn't in her way anymore. While they were doing so Tracer went to check on Winston, hoping he wasn't blaming himself too harshly for what happened. She entered his lab to see him putting a finishing touch on the gunblade, an engraving of a quote that has inspired him.

'Never accept the world as it appears to be,
dare to see it for what it could be.'
-Dr. Harold Winston

Tracer peeked at it just as the engraving was finished. "Oooh! Trying to inspire her as you were inspired?" She asked, causing Winston to chuckle. "It's the least I could do for being distracted when she needed me to pay attention to what was happening. That and I think she'll be glad to give this a test in the range to see if it fits what she expects." He'd say before placing the gunblade on a small table of its own and heading to check on Pyrrha.

Upon looking into Pyrrha's room Winston complimented Pyrrha's outfit and her choice of braiding her hair, before noticing there was some hair on the floor which he asked about. Brigitte was still there and mentioned that they initially tried to trim her hair down to a more manageable length but that it almost immediately regrew out to where it had been before. This piqued the scientist's interest, as well as making him think Mercy would want to check what is going on medically. He put that thought aside for the moment and told Pyrrha that he has something to give her in the lab, away from the old chronal accelerator that Tracer was putting in a secure storage box. The three of them made their way to the lab, gathering others on the way for various reasons. Genji had made his way to the lab already and was looking at the gunblade as its design was unusual to him. Reinhardt saw the now fully grown Pyrrha and gave her a gentle slap between the shoulders as he said she'd suddenly become a beautiful young woman faster than they'd expected. Mercy brought a few diagnostic tools from the med bay so after what Winston was bringing Pyrrha to the lab to give her she'd be able to do a quick check of Pyrrha's heath.

Once in the lab, Winston brought Pyrrha over to the table that Genji was still standing next to, telling her that it was hers and that aside from the wrap for the grip it was done. Pyrrha would pick it up in her right hand and aim it toward a random poster away from the others, feeling satisfied with how the weight of it felt in her hand and appreciating the way that the grip rested on the underside of her forearm for stability. She noticed there wasn't a scabbard for it and looked between Winston and Brigitte, asking them to help her bring an idea for a scabbard and linked grip sensor to reality for her to use with it. After explaining the idea to the two of them she got medically checked by Mercy to ensure nothing too abnormal had happened to her body, Winston having asked Mercy to take a reading of residual chronal energy as it may be affecting Pyrrha's body still. During the exam, after Tracer, Reinhardt, and Genji left the lab, as Brigitte was working on the scabbard's mechanical parts for Pyrrha a piece went flying right toward Pyrrha. Everyone noticed what was happening and called out, Mercy even moving to try to shield Pyrrha with her own hand, when a spike in chronal energy was read and suddenly the piece seemed to stop in midair. Blinking a couple times Pyrrha was first to deduce that she caused that as she could see a blue energy in the air around herself that held the piece in the air, as well as the diagnostic tool Mercy had dropped to move in the way of the part. Pyrrha grabbed the medical tool as Brigitte moved to pluck the part out of the air, just in time for the field of energy to fade from Pyrrha's view.

Winston chuckles lightly as he realizes how the chronal energy had affected Pyrrha, saying it seems her physical time seems to have been locked to how her body's condition is now. He then mentioned that she'll probably have issues controlling her power so he'll make something for her to help her do so since it's of similar nature to Tracer's ability. Pyrrha thanks Winston for that before moving to draw up a design for a way that the excess chronal energy her body seems to generate being used to keep the scabbard, handprint sensor in the grip of her gunblade, and the device Winston is making for her charged when near her. Intrigued by the idea Winston muses if it would work for Tracer's harness, but Pyrrha mentions that it's possible that it'd have the opposite effect for Tracer as she almost seems to have had an opposite effect from the chronal energy herself. Nodding at this Winston asked for a preference of how she'd wear the stabilizer for her powers, to which Pyrrha held out her left arm with mention that she'd prefer as a bracer on her left arm. She mentioned that she'd likely have issue aiming her gunblade if she wore it on her right arm. Nodding Winston would quickly get measurements to allow him to fit it comfortably on her left forearm.

Pyrrha set up the palm print sensor for her gunblade and its scabbard, programming in a differentiation between full grip of the weapon's grip and partial grip for removal. Full grip would suddenly open the scabbard with a loud ping like sound, which would then allow her to almost immediately strike from a sheathed state. Next she set it up to attach to the backside of her belt that also included the holster for her Raging Judge pistol on her left hip. Once set up she made her way to the shooting range that had been set up so she could give her new gun a try. Meanwhile Genji was getting help from Reinhardt to set up an obstacle course for Pyrrha now that she was fully grown. In the shooting range Pyrrha got used to the way her gunblade shot, thinking she should probably get a speed loader for it and the Raging Judge so she'd be able to load each of them easier. Just as she put her gunblade back into its sheath on her back Tracer came in with the note from when Pyrrha had been left at the door of the watchpoint. They talked about the information in the note and how the sword was supposedly made to cut into dragons of legend from thousands of years ago. It was at this point Genji came in with the intent of offering agility training to Pyrrha and overheard the mention of cutting into dragons of legend. He recounted a tale passed down in his family of a female warrior having fought Yamata no Orochi at the beginning of the Shimada clan's foundation. According to the story Yamata no Orochi initially had nine heads and eight tails but after the female warrior had been eaten by one of the heads she wound up cutting that head off from within. It is said that the members of the clan helped her turn the skin from that head of Orochi into a supple leather outfit which she wore, leaving the remainder of the material for them to use as they would.

Pyrrha accepted the agility training from Genji, though during it he would test her reflexes while giving her pointers. At the end of the session she mentioned that she found it difficult to attempt to parry projectiles while she was running, noting that if she could alter her boots with a series of micro thrusters she might be able to use them to temporarily glide over the ground while she parried. It was then that Genji asked her what she was going to name her new weapon, which prompted her to bring it out and look at it. After a few moments of mulling over how the metal of it being based on the sword supposedly able to cut through a dragon's hide she looked up toward Genji. "I'm thinking something along the lines of Dragon's Bite." Genji thinks for a moment before nodding. "Fitting as the legend surrounding its precursor weapon was meant for fighting supposed dragons." He would say before Pyrrha was called to the lab by Winston. Thanking Genji for the training and his appreciation for the name she chose for her weapon she would go to the lab to see about his call for her. Winston's call was to check the fit for the bracer as well as let her know of a neural implant that he'd come up with alongside of Mercy to improve the functionality of the bracer for her, though the range was purposely limited to only far enough that it'd connect when it's within her arm's reach so that it could be configured to not be rejected by her body. Pyrrha found that an interesting idea so long as it works, otherwise she'd rely on manual adjustment upon the bracer directly. Nodding in agreement, Winston mentioned he had that in mind too in case Mercy's bio implant didn't integrate properly. From there after some needed adjustments were noted Pyrrha went to the med bay to check in with Mercy.

Upon entering the med bay Pyrrha greets Mercy, mentioning the implant idea that Winston had mention. Mercy smiles and answers any of Pyrrha's questions that she has about the implant and how it would be implanted. Pyrrha got excited when it was mentioned that it was created using a genetic sample from herself, surprised at the way Mercy's nanobiotics was able to be used. With a chuckle Mercy reminded Pyrrha that it's an incredibly versatile medical technology. Once Pyrrha was satisfied with what she felt she needed to know about the procedure, as well as understood the probability of the implant integrating properly, she would lay face down on the table and bring her braided hair up and out of the way for the doctor. A fairly short time later the implantation was done and all that was left was to allow the implant a chance to integrate or be rejected. After sitting up Pyrrha discussed the idea of nanobiotic patches and a container that could generate them. Mercy brightened up at the idea, noting it was a purely healing method of use for her technology and promising the first successful prototype of it would be Pyrrha's. They then hashed out a design for it as well as including an easy way to feed it materials for making the single use patches. Once that plan was hashed out and written down Pyrrha went to get something to eat with Reinhardt and Brigitte.

Over time, more members of Overwatch returned to the watchpoint, allowing Pyrrha's skills to improve in new ways. McCree helped her marksmanship become more refined, especially with her Dragon's Bite. She occasionally joined on missions where the skills she gained would be useful, though more often than not she would be creating new devices for herself and, if they were interested in trying them, for the others. During this period she created the micro thrusters for her boots as well as a series of anti-gravity grenades and a replicator for it that she'd just have to feed materials to in order to replenish its stock, small scale of only three maximum at a time stored. Any larger of a container and it'd be far too awkward for her to hang on her belt. Her and Mercy even managed to create the nanobiotic patch med kit and some variants to supply to medical centers worldwide, Pyrrha's version including a chronal energy converter to power it and having a limit of ten stored patches at a time. Some of the years during the holidays she would go with Reinhardt and Brigitte to visit Brigitte's family, enjoying playing around with Torbjörn's grandchildren. During this time with the help of Overwatch she investigated her mother's situation, discovering a stash of documents that her mother had left hidden in a hovel within Ireland's rural region. Within the documents were notes by someone with the surname O'Deorain who described crude human experiments on those without families. Most notable was a foreigner that this person had experimented on, noting how after the experiment the woman's hair and eyes turned silver in color. Another piece of documentation noted the creation of several of the same kind of sword that Pyrrha had been left with, noting how in spite of the weight of the metal it made exceptionally good swords that couldn't even be damaged by the other swords of the same metal. The documents were placed in a safe within Pyrrha's room which she'd kept the key to on her person ever since.

Years passed, Overwatch regained its place as a global force for good and peace, avoiding delving into black ops of any kind. Pyrrha herself had somehow started getting letters sent to her from all over the world. That she would get letters confused her, particularly when she read a couple of them before giving up. The things in those letters felt disturbing to her. Regardless, eventually a new threat emerged that person by person began killing off Overwatch members. The first two, though it wasn't until much later realized such, were Reinhardt and Torbjörn using an engineered disease that had been meant to infect all of Overwatch yet failed to do so. Next to be killed, rather gruesomely, was Mercy while she was at her desk. It took weeks for Pyrrha to recognize that Mercy had typed up relevant information about her murderer using shorthand that she'd used with her when developing the nanobiotic med patch dispersers. By then it was too late to strike at the leadership of the new enemy as they started battles specifically to kill off Overwatch members. Doomfist had been used in one battle to remove Tracer from the fight, him surprisingly trying to do so without killing her or Emily. Unfortunately Tracer didn't come to meet him alone and he responded poorly. Tracer's response to him killing Emily was to go into a rage where she flitted all around him far faster than she ever had before, causing her chronal accelerator to critically overload. Just before it failed she managed to latch onto Doomfist's back before it exploded in chronal energies. The aftermath leaving Tracer mortally wounded and Doomfist erased from that point on. With the rest of her strength Tracer crawled to her girlfriend's body and hugged her close as she joined her in passing on from the living. After that battle none of the others could bear to separate their bodies and so placed them in the same grave. In one of the later battles Winston had gotten seriously injured such that he had to get cybernetic replacements to maintain his life and ability to aid his teammates. Several members of Overwatch publicly retired from being involved with Overwatch in order to both save their lives and allow them to continue helping people. Morrison wound up giving his life to obliterate the commander of the enemy forces about two weeks before the final battle, allowing Pyrrha, Winston, and Brigitte to alter the interior of the base. The final battle was at Watchpoint: Gibraltar after some alterations to the interior making it a gigantic choke point preventing them from swarming the lab from all sides. In the lab Pyrrha and Winston were working on a device to send one of them into the past in order to warn a past version of themselves of the threat, although Winston kept it to himself that it was to be added to Pyrrha's chronal bracer. Orisa arrived in response to Winston's call for help with just hours to spare before the assault began. She and Genji would initially fight back the hordes of enemies alongside each other while Brigitte assisted Pyrrha and Winston in the lab. Genji and Orisa would slowly be pushed backward into the facility bit by bit. About halfway from the now solitary entrance to the lab Genji was injured such that he lost use of one of his arms. He steeled his spirit before calling out "Kakugo!" as he rushed into the midst of the enemies brandishing his wakizashi in his uninjured right hand. The call out would be heard over comms by those in the lab, causing Winston to tell Brigitte to go help out. When Brigitte reached Orisa the quadruped defender had been pushed back a third of the remaining distance to the lab. With Brigitte at her side Orisa ceased being pushed back, though she had recieved damage that prevented her from using her graviton charges. Just before finishing the device Winston told Pyrrha to go help them out, though it was a cover to get her out of the lab while he removed his communicator and recorded a message for her once she returned. After recording that message into the device's memory, as well as one for his past self, he told Athena farewell before removing the vital piece of his cybernetic life support augmentation and inserting it into the time travel device to make it active, if only for Pyrrha. He heard through Athena's coms system that the others had successfully eliminated the final attacker, allowing him to peacefully pass on with a smile on his face.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:33 pm

Orisa had become immobilized from damage in the battle, so Brigitte immediately set about repairing the robot's legs while Pyrrha made her way back to the lab. Entering the lab she found Winston's body slumped back against the computer mainframe and his cybernetic arm locked in position as if holding out something toward the door. Going over to him she noted the smile on his face before seeing the light blinking on the device in his outstretched cybernetic palm. Cautiously she picked up the device, triggering a holographic message from Winston.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you that I would be giving my life for this device Pyrrha, otherwise you wouldn't have let me do it. I'm proud to have taught you in this life, and I'm sure that I'll be proud to be your friend in a different life. Live well and may your journey save many."

Pyrrha falls to her knees and cries softly as Brigitte and Orisa come into the lab. Brigitte stops next to Pyrrha with wide eyes. "Winston... He...." Pyrrha nods and wipes away her tears. "He gave his life to give me a chance to save everyone. I just hope if it works they believe me." She would say, unaware of the message Winston left in the device for his younger, uninjured self. Standing up Pyrrha would step over to the console and download a file containing the formula for the cure to the disease that took Reinhardt and Torbjörn into a small flash drive, stashing the drive inside her holster belt itself. The three of them then went about giving Winston a burial and arranging for Orisa to return to Efi for full repairs and upgrades, files of Winston's ideas for Orisa's upgrades sent with her for Efi to have and use as she saw fit. Once Brigitte and Pyrrha saw Orisa off to her home the got on another transport to bring Genji first to visit his master Zenyatta, who would then accompany them to Japan to lay Genji to rest in his familial home. After parting ways with Zenyatta and Brigitte in Japan, Pyrrha went back to Gibraltar and stepped into the containment room of the lab. If the time travel would be violent at this end, than she would rather any damage be limited. Taking a deep breath she attached the temporal dislocator to her chronal brace, and vanished.
