Quote: You need to eat. There are archaic cooking utensils and a well in the middle of town. There is an array of fruits, mostly apples, hanging from some trees, and there are several different types of berries that grow around the forest. There are unkempt gardens in a few of the houses, and a larger one with an array of crops that seem to be free for the taking, just by what seems to be an abandoned--locked--church. In some houses, and in a strange storage room in town, there seems to be unidentifiable dried meat. There are no packed or processed foods--only what nature permits. There are no animals to hunt. You can choose to eat any of such food, but at what cost? Are you fortunate enough to feel no effects? Are you struck with some toxic poisoning that fades after a bit? Do you feel rejuvenated, but at the cost of feeling incredibly paranoid and off? Food and effects are player choice, however should not grant any boosts in battle or extreme advantages into gameplay; if you have questions about what you can find or what effects it can have, please post in the MQ&A This place was certainly puzzling, and Cybele wasn't sure if she liked it, but she also knew that as the Senshi of the Hunt, this was the sort of challenge she was designed for. She hadn't solved the problem of the monster yet. She would. She was going to kill it, although most likely not alone. The disappearances were concerning, and had her thinking that she'd need a better strategy in order to properly face it. In the meantime, she'd settled into the rhythm of staying alive. She she spent hours in the forest foraging for her own food. There were no animals, unfortunately. Cybele could have done with some fresh meat, but she took what she could get, which was mainly berries and some odd, lumpy fruits. She loaded up the day's haul into a basket she'd found in her house, and she made her way over to the outdoor cooking area. No, she didn't trust any of this raw.

Senshi Vela of bonfires was getting hungry, she looked around this weird spooky town and saw the apples. She considered just grabbing one and eating it, but wasn't sure if that would be a bright idea. Her tummy grumbled and she sighed. She grabbed some apples and some berries from the forest, catching sight of another figure as she was collecting berries. She then decided to follow that person and see how they were handling the food, maybe they had an idea of how to handle this without getting poisoned or something. She followed them to the outdoor cooking area. "Hey, do you know how to cook?" She asked in a forward tone.

There were still embers in one of the fire pits, and Cybele was putting some small sticks on top of them, watching carefully to see if they'd catch fire. With no memories following her corruption, she was still at the point of trial and error of seeing what she had the muscle memory for. Outdoor cooking was not turning out to be one of them. A voice caught her attention, and she looked up from the embers to see another corrupt senshi standing nearby with her own haul of food. "Hello," said Cybele, a polite smile instantly spreading across her face. It was the first time she'd seen on of her own kind so closely, and she gave a deep nod. "I'm not sure about the details of cooking, but I know that food is generally safer to eat after it's heated a bit," she said, gesturing at her setup. "I think with a stove or a microwave, I could handle that." As it was, the fire she had seemed in danger of flickering out. "What about you? Have you done this before?"

Vale shook her head and then said "No, but perhaps we should go get more wood and try to make a better fire." Vale didn't know everything, but she did know bonfires. They were kinda her thing as the corrupt senshi of bonfires. She would have to avoid creating to big a fire. "Maybe we could find a pot or pan in one of the houses in the village and use them to cook the berries or apples. Or find a knife and sharpen sticks and roast the apples." Vale suggested. She hadn't seen any animals so finding meat looked like a pipe dream but they would get by.

Of course. Tools. Cybele nodded. "The house I'm in has a small kitchen in it. I think there might be a skillet in there, or a pot. I can check." The fire flickered under her hands. One of the sticks did seem to be catching, but she had a feeling that the other senshi was right. This would not be enough to cook on. "If I go see about that, do you think you can gather some more sticks?" Cybele glanced towards the fruit that she was holding. "It looks like we have the same ingredients, so we should be able to work together on this. Perhaps if we do it right, we could end up with stewed apples?" There couldn't be that many extra ingredients in that. In the meantime, Cybele flashed the corrupt a smile. "I'm Cybele, by the way."

Vela smiled and nodded working together sounded like a good plan and if they had a weird reaction to the food they would be able to help each other as best they could till it passed. "Yup I'll go get more wood, yea we might as well cook together and try to make sure we don't do anything to weird if this food is weird or magical in nature. After all, we aren't in Density city so who knows where we actually are now. I'm Vela." She said simply. "So what do you make of all this?" She gestured to all the factions stuck in the village.

Cybele glanced around at the other factions, no particular expression in her eyes. "I'm not sure," she said. "This is not the doing of Order or Chaos, and it would not be practical for us to fight right now. That's all I know." It was likely the monster that was keeping them there, but there had been no clues yet as to why it had chosen to take the people it had. "I'll be back," she said, and then walked off into one of the nearby houses, returning a minute later with a metal frying pan and a smile. "We're in luck. I did find one," she said.

Vela nodded she agreed that this was foolish for any faction to place, it wasn't like one side had the upper hand they were all tossed here with no idea what was going on. She waited till Cybele returned and then she nodded and said "Alright then I will go get some wood and we can get started." She went off to the edge of the woods surrounding the village and collected some sticks and branches. Careful to not go too far, since she didn't know what would happen if she did. Then she returned to Cybele. "Do you know how to start a fire? I don't think my power would work for this." She could create embers, but they weren't really fire. She hoped her powers would grow and they would someday be real fire but not yet.

Cybele glanced at the embers that were still warm but still not hot enough for cooking. "Something about oxygen and fuel?" she said, squinting. Without memories, she was having a hard time knowing where this information was even coming from, and after some experimentation, she was finding that she did not have the muscle memory for basic survival skills. "But I'm not sure. I wasn't having much luck before." She glanced back over to the other corrupt. "You said you have magic? What does that do?"

Vela nodded "Yup I'm Vela Corrupt Senshi of Bonfires." She didn't bother hiding the corrupt part since anyone with eyes could tell what she was in her powered form. The black mark on her head was a dead give away. "But currently they are magic embers they don't actually creature fire, maybe someday but not yet." Vela gathered some leaves and some sticks and attempted to rub them together as she had seen on tv she managed to hurt her hands but she seemed to be making progress as she blew on the leaves sparking a small fire to life. She carefully added more fuel to her little fire. "There we go."

"You'll get there," said Cybele, the polite smile never leaving her face. "I'm the Senshi of the Hunt. My basic magic is helpful sometimes, but my super magic is a stronger version of it, and the Eternal magic is the only one that can actually hit the enemy." She watched as the sparks hit the leaves and everything flared much brighter. Blowing on it seemed to help, as well. Oxygen. Right. "Oh, that is looking better," said Cybele, nodding in approval. "I found a knife in the house, as well. I think I'm going to start working on this fruit." This area had clearly been used as an outdoor kitchen before. There was a flat rock set up that worked as a cutting board, and Cybele started cutting the apples into slices and removing the seeds.

Vela nodded she didn't ask if she was chaos or order it really didn't matter right now anyway. They had to figure out food and a safe place to sleep and this house seemed good as any. After all nowhere was really safe since they knew nothing about this village. "Sounds good to me." She turned back to the fire and continued adding pieces of wood. She figured she should ready to fire as best she could while Cybele cut up the fruit to be cooked. She wondered if the food was safe or if they were fools to try to eat here at all. Once she had the fire high enough that it would burn without her for a moment she went to look for some rocks to put around the fire. Which she should have done in the first place. She picked up a few rocks and put them around her small fire.

There was a longer moment of silence as Cybele focused on cutting up the apples. It was more difficult than it looked like it should be, and she nicked her thumb at one point, which sent her hissing at the pain, but in the end, she had some apple slices that were mostly even and free of seeds. She put them in the pan and brought them over to Vela's fire, which was crackling nicely. "Thank you," said Cybele. "I don't think I would have been able to build it up like this on my own." She placed the pan on one of the stones near the edge of the fire. She knew that she wanted the food to be disinfected, not burned, and with luck it would get enough heat from this angle for that. Still, she looked over to the other corrupt with her head tilted. "Do you think we should just leave it to roast?"

Vela nodded "Yea we should roast them for a little while before trying to eat them. Maybe not long enough to make mush?" She suggested thinking it over. She sighed "Man I miss pizza and snacks, I hope we get home soon." She sighed out and sat down next to the fire to wait for the food to cook. There wasn't much else to do right now and they had to keep their strength up after all who knew what would happen next in this weird place. Weird fog, monsters, weird forest. Nothing about this place was normal. Not that Destiny city was all that normal either, but it was home.

Cybele stirred the apples absentmindedly with the tip of the knife, thinking that it would be best to try to get them to heat evenly. "I think it would count applesauce if they cooked down to mush," she said, her smile going a bit teasing. "That's a snack." She honestly didn't mind eating things like fruit and jerky. It was better than the constant supply of cheap cookies and candies that Sylvite and the others kept bringing her in the barracks, but she wished the food was more trustworthy and didn't have an equal chance of turning her tongue blue or giving her an awful stomachache. She glanced over to the other senshi. "You already asked me, but what do you think of this place? Do you have any ideas of how we'll get home?"
