Quote:
Trees stretch in every direction, tall and dark and full of unfriendly shadows. Nothing about the area seems safe, and there is a darkness in the forest. If you travel into the forest, you will find that no matter what path you take, the village is always within sight behind you. Any direction, any distance, any time you spend--the village will always be within sight. There is no barrier to stop you, just a strange, infinitely looping forest. Within the forest you find no recognizable trees or landmarks.

The woods.

Elsa hated even thinking about venturing into them, but having poked around the town itself quite a bit, it was beginning to feel inevitable. They were deep, stretching as far as he could see, and it looked so easy to get lost in their depths....but it was early afternoon, and there was plenty of light by which to explore. Perhaps, in the depths of the forest, there might be something that could help them against whatever dangers lurked in this awful place.

Still, he wasn't eager to go alone, and so he hesitated, looking to see if there was anyone else he could rope into this adventure. With two, surely they would be just a little safer.

Seraphinite was going to murder him, if no one--or nothing--else got to it first. Rigel was sure of it. If only because of how much the senshi was causing the other man to grit his teeth for the youth's excitement over their otherwise likely unfortunate predicament. If Rigel had his camera with him, he'd be recording everything non-stop. He likely wouldn't have enough space on any of his drives for all the footage he'd want to take of this village, the forest... everything.

Imagine vlogging in a creepy place like this? He let out a wistful sigh.

Not to mention the wonderful inspiration for music. Now and then he hummed, testing out possible melodies and strands of notes he might expand upon once he had access to his violin again.

It hadn't been terribly hard to slip away from Jet and Seraphinite, citing his trek for potential supplies as he headed out. The dense forest loomed before him, shadows twisting amongst the clawing branches. Leaves swirled in hollow winds and crunched beneath his heeled boots as they ground against dirt pathways.

Bones on his uniformed clinked together softly, torn fabrics rustling in the vague winds. His long hair drifted about, hood down as he approached the edge of the village to take a gander inside the forest itself. An off energy signature reached him, making the corrupt perk up. Chaotic, but... not corrupt. He'd heard about them from Seraphinite and chatter among other agents. The Dark Mirror Court. Allies, apparently. Except the ones that decided to use their magic against agents like Seraphinite and Jet.

Still, he smiled, his cyan eyes bright as he began to approach the equally billowy garbed senshi. "Out for a walk, too?" His voice was gentle, cheery. He'd no interest in being gruff and unapproachable like Jericho.

Elsa could hear the other Senshi approach, and turned to greet him as he came closer. No one he knew, yet--and as the energy signature confirmed, clearly one of the Negaverse's Corrupts, with his cascades of hair and the cracks in his forehead and chest. Elsa knew some of his Mirror brethren took issue with the Negaverse, but he himself had never had a bad run-in with them--he'd even helped on an operation or two, a long time back.

"Pondering the woods," he admitted, in response to the posed question. "I've been considering trying to see where they end--if they end. But for reasons that are probably pretty obvious, I'm not eager to try it in my own."

He extended a hand. "Sailor Elsa, of the Wendigo." He had a sneaking suspicion this was a Senshi with a sphere that might match his for creepiness, which made him feel a little more comfortable giving it out. There was no knowing how someone would react under most circumstances, but anyone whose costume was bedecked with bones was probably safe to tell.

Oh. Well, this was unexpected. And quite fun.

Rigel's brows rose, his smile growing to the introduction given. The Wendigo. He thought of the howling, wailing creature that destroyed parts of buildings at night, and seemed to hunt them in the mist that terrified everyone it seeped into. Not that he'd any suspicion of the Dark Mirror for it all--he'd likely no more influence over anything here than Rigel did.

So he clasped the hand lightly with his own black-gloved one, features bright as he grinned, "Pleasure to meet you, Elsa. I'm Rigel of the Eldritch." Somewhere, he was sure, Seraphinite must have just had an incline of dread or at least general annoyance. He already seemed disinclined towards the Dark Mirror Court, so to hear about one with an equally creepy sphere as Rigel's... well. Rigel quickly decided to just... not tell the Captain about this.

"If you're alright with it, I'd be happy to join you in this little search. I've been curious about them, myself. Or rather, what's in them." He saw no reason to hide his interests. If anything, it was an easy fishing expedition to see how the other felt about such things.

Elsa was glad for the other senshi--Rigel's--relatively positive reaction. No horror, no drawing away, no judgement. But perhaps the other Senshi's sphere explained that--a Senshi of the Eldritch wasn't exactly all that much less of a nightmare monster, probably.

Elsa felt a bit as if he'd found a kindred soul.

He turned, to gaze back out at the woods. "What's in them, huh," he said, idly. "Yeah, I think I'd like to lay eyes on that thing that's been coming out at night too."
