Quote: Trees stretch in every direction, tall and dark and full of unfriendly shadows. Nothing about the area seems safe, and there is a darkness in the forest. If you travel into the forest, you will find that no matter what path you take, the village is always within sight behind you. Any direction, any distance, any time you spend--the village will always be within sight. There is no barrier to stop you, just a strange, infinitely looping forest. Within the forest you find no recognizable trees or landmarks. Kerberos crossed his arms, eyes fixed on the forest circling the little village they'd all been dumped in. He was glad, in the moment, for even the dim light his Transcendence markings provided. It was something, a challenge to the clinging dark of the woods.
"I want to see how far these go," he said, "and if there's anything on the other side. Who knows how long we'll be here, and I think we'll need to know. And you two..." He sighed. "You're the ones I trust most, of everyone here." That might seem odd, Kerberos supposed, considering that Lellouch was still a Corrupted Senshi, but there was no question that he'd put his life in her hands if it came down to it. He just had to hope that Lyonesse was willing to trust his instincts, since he was aware they had a...rocky history. It made Lyonesse's skin crawl, having a Corrupt as an ally so soon after he'd escaped the Negaverse's hold, especially this particular Corrupt, but what was he to do? There was no point in getting in a fight, here. "It's a good idea. Lellouch, we'll need your magic if we run into anything dangerous, since I can hold people in place, but not do much in the way of direct damage, and Kerberos....we can't be sure anything we run into is even affected by emotion magic. So it's good that you're here."

Lellouch scowled at the dimly lit transcendant markings. "You stick out." She said flatly. They weren't that bright, yes. But if one knew to look for em... Well. Who knew. If they were there for the sole purpose of annoying her and making her uncomfortable, then Kerberos passed with flying colors. As usual. "A horrible decision, really." She spoke again, this time lacking any snark or bite to the words. Not that Kerberos would take any offense to them. Not after everything they've been through and how long they've been together. She was fine being with Kerberos. Honestly. The Knight on the other hand? Well, there was still some vexing spot buried deep down that wanted to giving a matching scar on the other hip. Another night though, perhaps. Lellouch fought back the urge to roll her eyes when he spoke. "My magic isn't exactly offensive. If anything it serves as a distraction. A moment of surprise, at best. And once that's understood it's nothing more than an annoyance." Her magic reminded her of those cheap smoke bomb tricks people would see at magic shows or on cartoons. "It won't do much in the way of damage. If anything at all." She said dully.

Kerberos snorted. "It's true, I do, but even without the glowy marks, I feel like I'm hard to ignore regardless." In a skimpy fuku, with long, bright blue hair? Yeah, Kerberos knew he was pretty eye-catching.
A laugh was the only response Lellouch got to her pointing out that he was a fool for trusting her. Sure, maybe, but he knew her--loved her---and believed that she would have his bakc, whatever other nonsense was going on.Lyonesse shrugged, at Lellouch's explanation. "Still better than tying things up in vines and being trapped myself, or emotion magic that might not have an effect. You can cover an escape better than anyone else here, or distract it long enough for Kerberos and I to get good physical hits in. So, y'know. Good all around.""Come on," Kerberos said, "let's go." He beckoned for both of them to follow, and strode into the woods.

"Your prior outfit would have been better in this area..." She said flatly. Hell, the clothes in her closet were a better choice then... whatever that fuku was. Lellouch rolled her eyes and snorted. Her magic did no more then his so called vines. And if he thought they did more then he was a fool for thinking so. "Whatever." She muttered before coming to a dead stop, with the knight crashing into her back. "I'm sorry, what??" She said, turning on him slowly. " Who? Who's... distracting... and Who's getting the 'good physical hits in'?" She asked, tossing his words back at him. Who did this fool think she was??? Okay. Is that how he wanted to play? Fine. "Pretty sure you said that the last time we fought. And while your mark is bigger. Mine hit a little closer to home, didn't it? How long did it take, huh? How many stitches? Did your boyfriend do em Natty? Or were you too much of a chicken s**t to go to the hospital when you were hurt, like every other time??" Lellouch hissed, grabbing the Knight's wrist that had a vice grip on his sword. "You have a ******** sword. Sharpen it if you need to. You'll do more damage with that then magic." Why even waste the time with useless magic when they all knew it wouldn't be much help. "This dull piece of crap won't get you very far." " Your last outfit was an improvement over this one. Some Knight you turned out to be." Lellouch then released her grip on Lyon, as if touching him burned her. "******** ridiculous." She hissed, stalking off ahead and leaving Kerberos to deal with Lyonesse. He better hope he didn't have a matching scar on his other side by the time this was all over.

Lyonesse wasn't sure what he'd expected, but Lellouch's aggressive hostility...wasn't it. As soon as she turned on him, he put his hands up, backing up several steps and even going so far as to dismiss his weapon. He could call it back if he needed to, but for now, diffusing her anger was more important. So when she grabbed him, he didn't fight her or try to struggle away, and he let her snarl out what she needed to get out, and only when she let go and turned away did he lower his hands.
"I'm sorry," he said, "that was shitty of me. I didn't mean to imply you were less capable than Kerberos or me, and it would be stupid of me to do that, because we all know you aren't. So...my bad, I acted like an a**."When Lellouch started snarling, Kerberos paused, and turned, frowning as he watched the two of them. This was what he'd been nervous about, bringing them both along, and he was ready for it to escalate...but with Lyonesse backing down and apologizing, hopefully it meant that there wouldn't actually be an issue.
"You okay?" He asked Lellouch, because Lyonesse was obviously fine, and he trusted that she hadn't done anything worse than startle him.
