Quote: The little village is unnaturally empty and devoid of all life sans that which came from Destiny City. To add to the eeriness of everything, sometimes a small area will randomly feel cold and unnerving more than the rest of the town. Close investigation of the area will result in finding a small piece of weathered metal; you can just barely make out runes carved into it, but it's not large enough for you to make out anything. As soon as the metal is picked up, the mood in the area immediately fades and, oddly, you feel safer holding it. You may only find one of these per character! Cybele was not afraid. Judging by the reactions of those around her, perhaps she should have been. She was having a hard time understanding just what was so odd about the situation. It was true that she had been teleported somewhere, but she teleported herself places frequently. It was true that this was a location she did not recognize, but she did not recognize most places. Destiny City was a maze of buildings and alleyways. She had yet to go on the same path twice. Perhaps it was the location itself that was worrying people so much, but she had been living in a crystal castle among monsters. This didn't feel any stranger than that. The monster here was bigger, and couldn't be controlled. That was probably what had the officers worried. In Cybele's mind, that just meant it had to be killed, instead. She was looking for ways to do just that. She hadn't had much luck. Instead, she'd found an area that did feel wrong and off, even to her. A little down the street from her chosen house, there was an area that sent cold all the way down to her bones. She shivered, and then stepped away. It was fine. She stepped forwards again, her head tilting.

Geo yawned as he stepped out of the dilapidated building that he had slept in. The night's sleep hadn't been a good one. It was the first where they realized that there was something out and about that seemed to be sniffing for... whatever could be called living that weren't just plants. Things that exhaled Carbon Dioxide? He wasn't sure, but it had been there, scratched at buildings, breathing heavily. No wonder there had been no living soul when they had arrived. When the sun had come up, it seemed that the creature had disappeared, which meant that it was most likely safe to go out. They would have to stay in the buildings come night then, but at least they had some shelter. He decided to see how far the town really extended and it was then that he realized that he noticed another that was out and about. A corrupt in particular. If he was remembering correctly though, this one was new, and from what he could tell, they didn't seem to remember that much? He didn't know, but she weirded him out a little. The amnesia that she had was off-putting and he couldn't quite place why. Had the Negaverse forced the Amnesia on her? If it did then how? He wouldn't be able to get the answers from her, but he could try to get others. He got closer to her and when he was within a reasonable distance said, "You find something?" Curiosity in his voice. He held back anything else he felt. Right now, they only needed to figure out how to survive and get out of here. Questions would be for later.

The sound of heavy boots on the dirt path behind her was enough to pull Cybele's attention from the cold spot for a moment. She glanced over her shoulder at the man who was approaching. First she took in his dark uniform, and then the aura. She turned to face him more thoroughly. "Captain," she said with a deep nod, and she gave a polite smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "There's a spot here that's colder than it should be." She reached out so that only her fingertips were inside of it. A chill tingle ran up her arm, and she shivered. "It's eerie. I'm not sure if it's related to the magic that's keeping us all here, but it seems like it could be." She wasn't sure if it was the clue she was looking for, but it was something. Someone else would likely have more context. She stood stock still as she waited for the Captain to give his opinion.

He nodded back at her but didn't return the smile. Even if hers didn't seem genuine, he wasn't offended. He didn't really expect any agents to like him, so it would have been more unnerving if it was genuine. She would have expected things of him then. He couldn't help but give a small smile when she described the cold spot though. Even if she didn't meant it, it seemed quite obvious that a magic spot around here would be... related to the magic around here. But now wasn't the time to point such things out. It never would be. Especially to another Agent. He wanted to get out of here, not build connections. "Interesting, I wonder what's causing it." Still, it was curious. Why would there be a random cold spot in the area. He moved closer to it, not recognizing that the Senshi was waiting for his opinion and stuck his arm in the area as well. It was freezing! It made him wish his gloves covered his fingers. He took his arm back. "Well, you certainly are right. I'd say it's unusual for this place, but I'm not sure if it is." He said, taking a look around before looking back that the "spot". "It's different for us though and I think it needs investigating." He turned to look at her. "I'd be careful though. This could be some sort of trap, though I hope it isn't." There didn't seem to be any traps that he would recognize, but then again, this was magic, and he had no idea about any of that. "You want to try looking closer? I'll help of course." There wasn't any point in not doing so at least. He wanted to know why it was so cold as well.

Cybele drew her fingers back and exhaled a warm breath into cupped hands before rubbing her palms together. Her gloves were designed after arm guards and did little for warmth, especially against such strange magic. Potentially strange magic, rather. Even the captain didn't seem so sure of how out of place it was. She was noticing that this crumbling town seemed to have even the most experienced of veterans questioning what was what. Cybele tilted her head. With serious gaps in her basic knowledge, she was at even more of a disadvantage when it came to understanding this place. "Would this be strange if we were back in the city?" she asked, turning back to him. "I'm new, if you didn't know. I still don't always know exactly what's normal." In that moment, she decided she didn't want strange, freezing air to be normal. "I wouldn't mind a second pair of eyes," she added, stepping forward into the zone and looking first at the nearby buildings, then down to the dirt. Something glinting caught her eye. "There's a coin here," she said. "That's all I see."

Geo raised an eyebrow. He kept silent as he thought about his answer and what she had said. New, but she was already such a high rank... was that possible? It sent a shiver down his spine. It made him realize that he knew even less about the Negaverse than he should have. Of course, he didn't want to know much about it, but he should have known this. "It would be strange, trust me. Unless we get pocket cold dimensions there that I don't know about, something like this would definitely be abnormal in Destiny City." If they were, he wished he would have had fire powers or something so that he wouldn't have to deal with them or at least could destroy them. He watched her and seeing that she didn't immediately turn into a human statue of ice, figured it was safe enough for him to go into it as well. The cold air hit him and made him wish he had more on even though he was completely covered. The area in front of him didn't appear any different and it seemed to be the same way for the Senshi as well. "A coin?" He looked at the ground and spotted something. "Might as well take a look. Even if it doesn't give us any clues about this spot, at least it might give us more information about this town." He said, moving forward and then crouching down to examine the shiny object. It didn't look anything out of the ordinary at first...

"This place does seem to bend the rules of what's normal," said Cybele, still looking down at the coin. "Even I can tell that much. The endless forest and the fact that I can't teleport home sort of gave that away." Her smile quirked to the side a bit as she glanced back over to him. It was an attempt at dry humor. "But different dimensions tend to have different definitions of normal, don't they? I know our citadel and Destiny City do." The problem with this place seemed to be that no one quite knew what the rules were. Cybele would take any hint she could get, and she joined the Captain in crouching down, although she didn't hesitate before picking the coin up and holding it flat in her palm. The metal disk, rather. Looking closer, she wasn't so certain that it was a coin, although there did seem to be some kind of writing on it. Something shifted when she touched it, and within a few seconds the air around them seemed much warmer. "Hmm," said Cybele, her eyes narrowing a bit. She then held the object out, after trying to wipe the worst of the dust off with her thumb. "Can you read this at all?"

He would have responded back to her humorous quip but really it had just reminded him of the situation they were in and how they didn't understand it. "If there are different dimensions out there, then I would like to know more about them..." He almost muttered the last part to himself. Sure, there were certainly other worlds, the Senshi were proof of that. But what did different dimensions mean? Even if he had been a part of the Negaverse for a while, he hadn't really thought of it being in a different dimension. Did that mean there was something else out there more powerful than the Negaverse, something they couldn't predict? He wanted to know more, but it would have to wait until later. After he was purified, when he would actually be able to take time to do so instead of being beholden to someone of higher rank and taking orders from them. He took a closer look at it, and after a moment, something seemed to shine on it. It looked like... "Runes?" He uttered, taking one of his hands to touch it. When he touched it with his uncovered fingers however, he could feel a sudden warmth and as though there was some sort of safety with it. "There's definitely something about this piece. Whatever it is. I doubt it was this small to begin with. I'm sure you felt it too right? Warmth? There's something magical about it." He almost said it whimsically and with awe, but remembered that they were in a place completely hostile to them. "We better keep it. It may come in handy later for... something." Usually if there was something such as that it would help them get out of here, hopefully. He was pretty sure that was how it worked.

"By 'dimension,' I meant places like this," she said, gesturing to the village around them. "Maybe that's not the terminology. I'm not sure." It did sound a bit more sci-fi, as if they should be zipping through wormholes instead of ending up in villages with no electricity, but she couldn't think of a more specific word for the place. "We should be able to learn more about it. I think we've already found a clue." She'd been holding the metal disk out to him, and she didn't draw her hand back. Instead, she looked up at him. "Would you like to keep it? With my memory how it is, I'm not sure if I know enough to put the pieces of this puzzle together." Although it was warm, as warm as the monster's mist was cold. Even if they couldn't read the runes, perhaps it could be used as some sort of protection. "And yes, I can feel it. I think this is something important," she said. "Let me know if you find any more. I think you're right about it being useful."

"Of course, but I think my point still stands. This would be one of those "different" dimensions that I can think of. I don't think we're necessarily in ours." It honestly reminded him of Skyrim a bit and how one had to go to the planes of Oblivion that the various Daedric Princes ruled over to get certain items or defeat certain enemies. Still, this wasn't a video game, and they could very much die without being brought back to life. And even if they were, it would be through reincarnation... though he wasn't sure if he would be allowed due to being an Agent. Perhaps his chance had already been taken away. Even more reasons to try to get out. He nodded. "If you're memory is that bad, I'll keep it for now. Though maybe we can learn more about it later." What was the reason her memory was so bad? And that she was already so powerful? Something wasn't right, and he wanted to know why now. This was the Negaverse's doing, he knew it. He stood up, moving the piece to one of the pockets on his "uniform". "I'll let you know if I do. And you can have one that way as well." He looked at the sky and could tell that it was getting just a bit darker. "We should probably go. I may not be able to tell exactly what time it is here, but I don't like to take chances." Honestly, it could just be it got darker for the moment and would light up again considering he didn't think they had been out here that long. Still, this place made him nervous.

Cybele nodded. "I would like to know more about it," she said. "I think this is the best clue that I've seen so far, but I'll trust it to you for now." She would very much like one of her own, but she thought that he would make better use of the protection it offered than she would. She was an Eternal, and he was only a Captain. She did glance at the darkening sky, though. There were times when the clouds got thicker and the shadows grew darker, and then it all cleared out to the same pale gray as before, but she did not think this was one of those times. She had been out for a while at this point. Dusk had to be just around the corner, and having been exposed to the fog once, she had no desire to repeat that experience. Perhaps she would fight the monster on her own terms if it came to that, but she did not want to be caught off guard, and she nodded. "Yes, I think it's time to back inside," she said, "But I'd like to talk to you later. Let me know if it does anything interesting, all right?" And with that, she turned back towards the little house she had claimed.
