Quote: The little village is unnaturally empty and devoid of all life sans that which came from Destiny City. To add to the eeriness of everything, sometimes a small area will randomly feel cold and unnerving more than the rest of the town. Close investigation of the area will result in finding a small piece of weathered metal; you can just barely make out runes carved into it, but it's not large enough for you to make out anything. As soon as the metal is picked up, the mood in the area immediately fades and, oddly, you feel safer holding it. You may only find one of these per character! Varda yawned as she stepped out of the building into the gray-clouded landscape. It had already been one night, and they were still stuck here. And there was some creature that was doing... something. Attacking the buildings, but it didn't seem like it killed anyone. There didn't seem to be any blood marks, so she wondered what exactly it was doing skulking around the "town", currently unnamed. None of them really knew what was had happened here, and she had a feeling they wouldn't really know until they all escaped, so they were stuck here for now. It reminded her of a combination of both Skyrim, Bioshock, and FNAF. The general atmosphere being Skyrim, and the creature attacking much like the haunted animatronics, and the abandoned town reminding her of Bioshock for some reason. "Somehow I would feel less safe in that pizza place though..." She muttered to herself as she started to wander, ignoring her stomach's cries for food. She would have to ignore it much more often. Even if there was "food" around, she still didn't trust it. There was an area in front of her that felt oddly out of place, but it felt like it was calling to her, and so she slowly made her way to it, not wanting to rush in case it was something that she really shouldn't be going toward.

To say Chip had been having a great time would be... slightly incorrect. But he was still taking it rather well. It was all new and exciting. And given he actually lived in negaspace most of the time, was a welcome change. Also, he was walking around on two feet, with his tail and fuzzy ears, all day long. That was a plus too. Still. It was such a big mystery, this place, so he took to wandering around, peering at everything, occasionally poking at stuff and looking for anything of interest. So, naturally, a spooky feeling got his attention. He wandered on into the space, looking around, heedless of potential monster encounters (or, perhaps, hoping for one). He encountered a senshi instead. "Hey you!" He called out to the girl, who looked quite fluffy to him, "Do you feel the thing here?"

Varda almost jumped when she heard the yell, and swiftly turned around to see who had called out, wondering if they had called to someone else or if it was her. She did jump when she saw it what looked like some kid... with ears and a tail? That couldn't be right... humans did not have those. Usually. She had been on the internet long enough to know that there were those and well, she did not want to think about them. He looked different though. More cat-like that human. When she had recovered she took another moment to think about what he had said and then nodded. "Yes, I was just heading towards it. I haven't had a chance to check them myself so I wanted to see what they were." She grinned at him. "Though, I'd feel a lot more at ease if I had someone else with me when I did it!"

"Oh good!" Chip replied, grinning toothily. "That makes things easier...there's something weird here," he waved a hand around vaguely, "I mean, other than the spooky old timey town with a disappointing lack of tech in it. It's...better to explore with other people." He nodded, and supplied. "Speaking of, I'm Chip! Who're you?"

She wondered what some sort of cat-human would have to do with technology, but she supposed it was something she just had to learn about later. After all, no one else seemed to even bat an eye at him when she had seen him and some other cat-human hybrid, so she supposed it wasn't too crazy to talk to him. "Varda. It's... nice to meet you chip." She wouldn't have hesitated usually, but this was still weirding her out a little. "Dark Mirror Senshi of Victory. Haven't really gotten to test my powers out, think I used them once, but we'll see if they can be of any help around here." Though in the back of her mind she really hoped they would just be able to go home without trouble. "Looks like we're investigating this together then Chip." She said, smiling at him. At least she probably wouldn't be alone. She hoped he wouldn't run at the first sign of trouble at least. "Let's go over there and you can tell me a little about... who you are? Sorry, first time really seeing someone like you. And I apologize if I've acted a little weird about it."

"I see, I see!" Chip replied, grinning. "You Mirror Senshi and your cool, uh, mirror stuff are always fun!" He nodded. "Which cat found you, anyway? I know it wasn't me! I mean, you've definitely met one of us Mauvians... right?" While talking, he was already walking off to poke at this spookiness going on. It was a bit unsettling, of course, but in typical Chip fashion, he handled the unsettled feeling by being even more enthusiastic.

Was I supposed to be found by a cat? She muttered to herself as she continued forward. "Actually, I'm not sure if you've met him, but it was Remarque who found me and offered to show me the mirror... verse?" She hadn't gone back yet except for easy transport, but she didn't trust it enough to use it that often. What if the mirror that she did know about had been moved? Honestly she thought it was quite lucky that the other mirror that she used had stayed in place for so long. She shook her head. "I think I may have for the pen, but I'm not sure. At least, I haven't met any like you. I've met a talking cat whose name is escaping me but not a uh, cat-human." Honestly everything had mostly been a blur, and with most of her concentration being on school and matches, she hadn't been able to do a whole lot for the Dark Mirror. She was also looking around as they continued, and thought she saw something shiny ahead of them, but couldn't be sure. It was only for a second that there seemed to be something different in the dirt. "You see something right there? Could have sworn there was something shiny, though it may have just been another rock." It wouldn't be that surprising to have some shiny rocks mixed in around here.

"Remarque's the, uh, big leader guy of the court, right?" Chip replied, thinking about what he'd read and seen. "That talking cat was just like me, another Mauvian. We find people who can be senshis." He grinned briefly. "Remarque probably learned about you from them. Of course, most of the time we can't stay like this, and, uh, it kinda attracts a lot of attention, but it works well here, so, spooky as it is, it has some positive points." That explanation out of the way, he directed his attention to where she pointed out, and dashed forward. "Shiny things won't get away!" He declared. "Hmm, there is something here. A couple bits of metal..." Gently, the catboy picked up one of the pieces and held it up. "Hmm...doesn't seem like much..."

She nodded. "Yep. Not sure if there are any others, but if so he's the only one I currently know of." She thought he may have mentioned at least one other, but couldn't remember. She hadn't met up with him for a while or any other Dark Mirror really. And even she herself had been almost too busy to try much of anything. "Oh, so that's how it works." Well it made sense. She didn't see people who had literal feline traits walking around. She almost wanted to ask which form he preferred but didn't want to be rude to him. Maybe if she found another cat and they weren't in a survival situation she could ask then. She was glad for his cat-traits now though as he easily spotted what he said were pieces of metal and walked over to where he was. "Really? Let me see. I might be able to identify it." She said looking at the ground and touching one of them. Suddenly it felt a lot less cold and a lot less... scary? She wasn't really sure, but something had happened when she picked it up. Inspecting the piece carefully she noticed something on it. "Looks like there are runes... unfortunately can't say what the metal is. Though it does make me curious." Was there other metal out there that they didn't know about? Was mithril REAL?!?

"If I could just pop back to my lab, I'd melt it down and see what it's made of." Sure, melting probably wasn't necessary, but it sure was fun. "And I didn't think to bring my portable spectrometer. Darn." He flicked a bit of metal into his space pocket, though, to look at later. "Mystery solved!" Chip declared, posing triumphantly briefly. "But now there's more mysteries..." He scratched his cheek thoughtfully and looked around. His look suggested that he didn't find that daunting. "Better get started!"

She nodded to him. "Once we're out of this, I'd love to see what you figure out about these later." She said. However it was about time that they started gathering supplies or finding something to do that would help them live through the night. She could only hope that those who were taken by the beast were still alive at this point, but for herself she needed to get some food to get some strength for the night. With that she waved at the guardian cat and went on her way. Tolin Kalin End from me! Thanks for the rp!
