Quote: Confronting the Creature (1) : Everything about this place tells you that you should not be out at night. The forest turns wicked, a horrible fog rolls in, and a monstrous creature stirs. But you, for whatever reason, decided to be out late. Perhaps you thought you could hunt the creature, or solve some mystery, or perhaps you were simply unlucky. Either way, the creature has found you. This must be a battle, and you must quote the shop mule, Beckoning Chaos, if you wish to pursue this plot. A moderator or GM will be assigned to RP the creature in this roleplay. You may manage to escape into a building if you are close enough into town, however if you manage to do this you will spend the rest of the evening with the creature tormenting you, banging on the house and trying to break in; you will suffer horrible hallucinations and be plagued with paranoia and fear until morning. If you do not manage to seek shelter, or if you would like the creature to break into your shelter, the creature will defeat you in battle and you will pass out. You cannot defeat the monster, but you may learn something about it in battle. If you lose, you will be taken to a cellar with other prisoners and held outside of the city. Please see the below prompt for more information!

Daisy had, to put it quite plainly, lost complete track of time. Since she and the others had all poofed into being in this weirdass and spooky place, she'd done her best to be useful. To stay positive.
She really had to wonder how much easier that would be if she'd appeared still powered up the way some of the others had. Instead, she was just Daisy. Stronger than most, but not enhanced. And she still hadn't quite adjusted to the huge blind (ha ha) spot she now had on her left. She hadn't seen any monsters yet, but she'd heard them. It? She still wasn't sure how many there were. But she had learned enough in her short time here to know that the darkness was not anyone's friend.
And she knew that some people had already vanished.
Absently wiping a sappy hand against her stained pajama pants, she wondered if she had enough bits and bobs of wood gathered to make a decent fire. Part of her had some vague idea of a huge bonfire that might keep the monster from prowling for at least one night.
Night... Suddenly the passage of time registered with her and she glanced up, looking at the sky and blanching. It was already growing so dark. But maybe she still had a chance to get back to shelter.
Holding on to her bundle of wood, Daisy ran for the village, her bare feet crunching through the dried and dead undergrowth.

The path back to the village swirled before her, disappearing in a hazy of milky white smoke that had no right to move so quickly. No matter how quickly Daisy ran, it seemed to outpace her. There was the sound of something moving but nothing to be seen--and then, suddenly, some obstacle appeared before her. Great and towering, the shadow of the monster appeared before her--an impassable, immovable wall that didn't even flinch when she collided. It's feathers dusted the ground it stood on and it turned to face her; its long, clawed fingers twitched in anticipation and cold, black eyes stared down at her as it towered above her.

She'd been so busy running that she hadn't seen the monstrous form looming up out of the mist and shadow. Daisy felt herself run face first into something with enough force to bounce back a little. Shaking her head a little dazedly, she glanced up with her one good eye and felt her throat go dry as dust. The monster was standing right there. In any other situation, she might have found it a little funny that she'd run into the thing like some cartoon character.
But this wasn't any other situation. And while she couldn't miss those clacking claws or black eyes staring down at her, her primary thought was simply how big it was.
And she was only armed with a bundle of sticks and couldn't transform. Oh s**t.
Even as she came to these conclusions, her body moved on it's own, swinging the stick bundle around and holding it before her as a form of shield. She might go down, but it would be fighting. And if she was very lucky, she'd be able to hurt the monster somehow.

The creature watched her like something it thought was very small, very harmless. It's head tilted slowly, unnaturally, at an angle that certainly would have snapped any human's neck--and yet, it watched her, unfazed. It took one step forward and it's head snapped back into place, just as it raised its arm and smacked the bundle of sticks with such force that it snapped a few on impact and sent the others flying. It took another step closer to her, bony forehead nearly pressed into her own. The creature didn't seem to breathe, but a great chill emanated from it. It's cold, black eyes stared into hers piercingly, and it felt like a hundred tiny little talons were plucking lightly at her skin.

While she'd been expecting some sort of attack, Daisy hadn't expected the power behind such a simple move. Between the un-natural head tilts and the sudden loss of her makeshift shield, she could only stand and stare dumbly. How did something so big move that fast?
Feeling very much like a deer frozen in headlights, Daisy tried to figure out what to do as the towering creature knelt and pressed it's face against her own. Throat closing in fear, she noticed the cold that came from the thing as she felt herself staring into inky eyes.
Then, because her Fight or Flight instincts finally kicked in, she pulled her arm back and aimed a punch right for one of those dark, dark eyes. She'd never been very good at running away to fight another day when it came to the Negaverse. And now it looked like that instinct would be her undoing now.

The creature moved instinctively, giant hand raised to catch her fist in its own. It held her there, and with its other giant hand took her wrist. It held her firmly in place and pressed its forehead against hers firmly--hard enough to knock with a bit of pain. Its eyes were transfixed on her--but it seemed to have some sort of plan beyond just staring. It opened its mouth and a low howl bellowed from deep within its throat--and then a wave of fog spilled out of it, onto Daisy. It was more than just the hallucinogenic fog that plagued the village--this was something heavier, something that felt like the pull of sleep, dragging away consciousness with a heavy nothingness.

Staring dumbly at her caught hand, Daisy stood frozen for a moment before beginning to struggle and pull at her arm, trying to free herself. When the monster's other hand caught her wrist, she struggled for another moment before once again freezing. Though this time it was less fear and more the knowledge that she couldn't afford to dislocate her arm if she kept fighting against the monster's grip.
She stared up in pure defiance for just a moment, sure that she could somehow turn this around. Except for the fact that this thing was bigger, stronger and trickier than any youma or agent she'd ever seen. And as she stared up, the monster stared back, pressing it's face against hers even harder than before. And as it stared, Daisy wondered what it was looking for. She didn't have very long to think about it before the thing howled and Daisy found herself struggling anew to get free.
She barely noticed the fog except as something that seemed to be part and parcel of the monster. That her struggles became sluggish and her eyes became so heavy. As darkness swooped in to carry her off into sleep, she wondered if the monster's fog had drugged her.
And a few moments later, she wasn't thinking at all as she hung in the monster's grip.

For a few seconds, the forest seemed to maintain the chaotic energies and the fog churned around the creature. It watched her, eyes piercing and unmoving, as she became limp in its arms. The creature was not violent, then; it had subdued her. Its task was done. She was already in its grip. It loosened, somewhat; there was no need to damage her when she was compliant. As quiet as the fog in the forest, it carried her away.
