The air swirled with a cold brisk breeze sending goose bumps shivering through Winter Lilly's hid. She smiled with the happy anticipation and promise that winter would be here soon. The breeze around her swishing her mane around in a cute curly q. A soft quite whisper on the wind called to her. "Winter Lilly come to the Grandfather Tree." Looking this way and that she could not see the scores of the words but deep within herself she knew it was time for her journey to begin.
Moving away from her den she started walking in the direction of the banners. She had yet to ever travel there but somehow she knew the way to go. Honestly Winter avoided the Banners at all cost; it is just far to hot for her liking. Sure everyone though the Banners was hot but for winter it was more like jumping into molten hot volcano; to her even the Homewoods was hot but more bearable.
Finally stepping into the hot sand she sighed with a big rust of air and dread for this long walk. She really wished there was a cooler way to to get the Grandfather Tree. As she walked and walked she found a hole new reason to hate the Banners. SAND! It was everywhere in more places then she cared to think and add the fact that she was hot; she just could not wait to get back to the cold river water in the Homewoods.
The Great Tree came into view and surge of energy pushed her forward. Happily she approached the roots of the tree. Even as uncomfortable as she was she knew when to be respectful. "Have answered the call Grandfather Tree." she said with a bow not sure what to do next or even what would happen.

A still quiet passes over the plateau. Hushed silence that is almost deafening. Grandfather tree's roots seem to shift and reach out as Winter Lilly approaches.
Choose one of the following prompts for Winter Lilly's dream vision.
Quote: You are in the ruins of Erli. Suddenly a beam of metal comes crashing down not far from you and you hear a shout of pain. The beam has collapsed on top of a predator that was hunting you! The predator is alive, but trapped and injured. What do you do?
Quote: You meet an elder noulicorn while travelling the Barrens. They appear near death and cannot stand. They ask you for water. You know it’s almost a day’s journey to the nearest water source and you can’t be certain the elder will live that long. What do you do?
Quote: You find yourself deep in an unfamiliar forest. The howling cries of predators erupt around you and you realize you’re being hunted. There are far too many to fight on your own. What do you do?

With swirling gusts of wind and leaves dancing around, Winter Lilly took a deep breath in and closed her eyes. The ground shifted beneath her hoofs and the once dry brittle smell of the barrens changed to moist cool green air. It was nice actually, Winter Lilly though. Opening her eyes she found herself deep deep within a forest. It smelled like the Homewoods but look nothing like any part of her home she had ever seen. "Now how in the world did I get here." She mildly wondered to herself as she looked all around.
The sounds around her gave her no clue to her location either. Sure there were birds singing but not songs she recognized. There was familiar looking trees and plants to but these look untouched but any nibbling nouls or jackhops. Slowly Winter Lilly began to walk around, she needed to get her bearings and find a familiar land mark. She had not gone far though when a sound that even though was unfamiliar, was very very clear.
The howls of a predator have found its next meal. A fearful shiver ran through out her body. She knew deep within she was the meal this pack had found. "Think think think..." She voice out load. She knew there was no way she could out run the hole pack so she would have to come up with something else. "Well they can smell you out." Her muse said in a rush. "Yes that's right I need to mask my smell." It was not the total fix but it would help her in whatever she planned next. Looking all around her she found just the thing she needed. Sckat. And though the thought was most unpleasant she rolled all around in the mud and sckat.
"Ok now I need to get the heck out of here and find some water." She thought as she took off running through the forest. She had no idea where she was going but based on the moss on the trees she was heading north and moss also gave her hope for water. It was not much but the logic in her tariffed mind made since to her.
The pounding of her heart and hoofs beat into her mind and when she was ready to slow the pounding a growling and howling of her followers drove her on even faster. Finally she heard the rust of water and hope of getting away drove a new found rust into her legs. But it was to little to late her path was blocked in. Some how the predators had circles her. As they tited the circle she knew this was the end. But through the fear one last happy thought flashed before her. "At least it will be cold like a beautiful winter's day forever."
A perditor leaped into their and just as it would have crashed on to her she was sucked back into reality. Once again in the unbearable heat of the barrens and standing before the Grandfather Tree.
