The Personal Things
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
Personality ● Jarrus is a blunt person, and will tell you his opinion or exact thoughts on a subject without pause or remorse. He is however very reserved and hesitant to trust others, speaking only when he deems it necessary, not just for the pleasure of being heard, but who is insanely loyal to those who have shown themselves worthy of his trust. Such people he will be even more bluntly honest to, if asked his opinion, but he would fight alongside or for them without a second thought, even if they decide to take a course of action opposite to his counsel. He tends to anger easily, and is prone to challenging those who offend him to duels, which is worse when he is drunk or seriously inebriated.

Strengths
● Martial Training:Jarrus has been trained specifically for combat, war, and bloodbath. He is less affected by carnaige and fear than most due to this, and he is often the last to yield ground on the ships that he serves on. This has led to a reputation for being a stubborn warrior who gives no ground unless he must.
● Observant: Jarrus will watch first, and then act later. He makes a point to be aware of what is happening around him, when he is sober. It is difficult to surprise him.
● Field Medicine: Jarrus knows a fair bit of field medicine to stave wounds and get a man fighting again in short order. He uses it frequently on himself, now that he is a Sellsword frequently serving on pirate or merchant vessels, but is not above patching up crewmates.

Weaknesses
● Alchoholic: If there is booze, Jarrus has it in hand. He drinks anytime he comes ashore, often with predictably violent results. He tries to avoid drinking while on duty or on shift with the other sailors, but can still sometimes be found with a bottle in hand.
●Paranoid: Jarrus has been betrayed multiple times, and unless he gets to know someone very well, he will assume that they are planning to cross him at some point- this has led to him terminating contracts, leaving vessels, or seeking other employment inthe past.
● Leg Injury: He took an arrow to his thigh during the military campaign along the borders of Ishgar. Ever since, the leg has never fully healed, and while it does not normally impede his combat prowess, all it takes is a strike to this area for him to collapse, and suddenly lose the upper hand in a fight.

Biography
Jarrus was born to a lesser noble family on the outskirts of Ishgar. His parents had fallen hard on their luck, and it was rumored that they were soon to loose their small estate to debts that they had incurred to the local baron. While Jarrus did not believe these rumors, they proved to be true when they were evicted, his parents stripped of their titles, and their estate given to a knight who had aided in the great wars.
Their life was hard, for the next two years, as the family tried desperately to set up a place for themselves in the local community, trying in vain to get ahead. It was at this point that Jarrus was recruited at the young age of ten into the military of Ishgar by force, a passing soldier witnessing his skill with the staff as he fended off several older children attempting to take his few belongings. The soldier, a servant of the knight who had received his parent’s estate, escorted the boy to his parent’s house, and offered on behalf of his lord a salary of ten gold royals a month to the family if they would sell the boy into Military service.
This was the first of many betrayals, that Jarrus would face, but Jarrus did not let himself fall to despair, when he was led away and taken into the household of Sir Gwain. Instead, he made a point to become a skilled member of the military and a perfect soldier, serving out the term of his service with all the diligence that he could muster, receiving promotions, equipment, a greater salary than he had ever known, and the respect of his Liege lord, Sir Gwain. All a rouse, to lower suspicion. When his mandatory service was complete, he left Ishgar secretly, packing his armor, his effects, and some supplies, and taking one of Sir Gwain’s best horses to sneak out of the kingdom by night. He traveled to the nearest waterway available, and took to the seas, sailing as a sellsword, mercenary, and man at arms to any who can afford to pay him for his services.
