Ok Ladies and Gentlemen,
Prepare to share!
I'm an unrepentant sybaritic food-o-phile and I love to share experiences that I have with others...so, I thought this might be a great place to do it.
I don't care if it's down home cookin', comfort food, or foo foo fancy. If you ate it and you loved it...I want to hear about it!
If you have a recipe you're dying to share, I want to see it!
Sooooo...without further ado, let the nibble talk begin!

I'll probably post something here after I return from my foray to BurgerTex.
BurgerTex is an interesting institution here in Austin...it's owned by a Korean family and has Bulgogi Burgers!
I've been informed that this burger is extremely good, and mayhaps I'll be game to try it tonight. We'll see! xd

I don't like noodles much, but I pull the exception on lasagna. Good stuff right there, really good stuff.

Comfort food: meatloaf, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese. Egg salad (NO RELISH IN IT, YOU BARBARIANS!) on challah bread. Good onion rings (not too greasy or too heavily breaded). Corned beef hash with poached eggs on top.
A touch more exotic: chiles rellenos, California roll with plenty of wasabe, kung pao anything, crawfish etouffe. Gyros with that cucumber-sour cream stuff ... who remembers what that's called?
Alcoholic: amber beer, Riesling, Gewurtzrameiner, Merlot, ice wine. Used to like gin and tonic, but hard liquor tears up my old tum too much now.
Dessert: Cheesecake, pecan pie, chocolate mousse, creme brulee, key lime pie. Cookies, especially sugar cookies. Don't eat many sweets any more ... can't. crying

I like sweets too much Fresnel.... way too much. I'm definately with you on the cheesecake, the mousse, and the key lime pie.
Have you ever tried key lime cheesecake? I'll admit that it isn't as good as traditional cheesecake, and it isn't as good as key lime pie itself, but it is definately worth trying. It was interesting getting the tangy sweet of the key lime with the creamy sweet from the cheesecake. My grandma shipped me one from a company called the Cheesecake Factory. They've got sooooooo many different kinds of cheesecake and they're all soooooooo good.

Tamale Pie rules when it's done well! My mother never made it. She did make one of the most coveted lasagnas ever though. Fortunately, I learned a lot of her best stuff when I was 10, and am consequently able to prepare a few of her specialties without a recipe in hand. Brainwashing is sometimes quite good. Lasagna, potato soup, beef enchiladas...chicken breasts deluxe with cheddar cheese sauce and bell peppers are a few of the things that I seem to be able to replicate very well. I think I'd cry if I didn't know how to make them... Oh and King Ranch Casserole. biggrin

Heh, I forgot devilled eggs. Mom made some very different ones...ones without pickle relish! I always find the sweet ones to be wrong.
I'm a sucker for salty and savory.
If you give me chocolate and cheese and ask me to choose one...I go all sorts of gimme hands for the cheese!
