Byakko has a navy blue leather journal. It has a bright yellow crescent moon with white angelic wings on the cover. In the background, behind the moon, are cherry blossom branches with falling petals. It's a very pretty design. The inside of the journal looks a little worse for wear though. A stark contrast to the beautiful cover. The pages look like they have seen better days; tattered with ink stains. Perhaps it is symbolic of the fact the on the outside Byakko is cool and composed, and even pretty. But deep down he is a mercenary with a sad past.

Name: Byakko Gender: Male Stage: older teen, at least in appearance (maybe 18 or so) Race: Nekomata turned Vampire Item: Hero of Wind's Tapestry History:During the great war there were four divine heroes coming from the four edges of Treterra that united to help slow the humans advances against the true races, knowing it was just wrong. Each controlled a different element. They met and became friends after helping each other, battle after battle, moving from place to place trying to save lives. Each one was of a different race. And each one had a tapestry made to represent them after the War.
The Angel/Nekomata Hero, despite being frowned on by his ancestors due to his hybrid status, had a heart of gold, and defended all true races against the humans’ advance. The tapestry made in his memory was being moved from a nekomata village to a city museum. Unbeknownst to the museum curator, a meta egg had been left in the van too. (the egg got there because of Kae) The egg hatched during transport and the meta absorbed the tapestry.
When the toddler arrived in the van, with the tapestry seemingly gone, the curator was furious! He chased the boy away! A mercenary duo; a set of twins that went by the name of ___ , found the toddler, and forced him to join their group. They knew that metas age quicker than the average human. With this working in their favor, they could make the child work, and take his money.
The meta child was named Byakko by his new ‘family’ because of the massive design that had appeared on his back after absorbing the tapestry. It reminded them of the Hero. Byakko remained with this group for a long time, being mistreated all the while. When he finally had the courage and ability to leave, he did. Now that group of mercenaries are poor again, and they blame him for their misfortune.
Byakko is still a mercenary. But at least he’s in charge now. His life was pretty dark and depressing back then. And now he just feels ...empty. Sometimes he would wonder if life was even worth living anymore. But he continues on with his job for it is the only life he knows.
One day he receives a new job opportunity working with another mercenary, a vampire. This job would change his fate. Unbeknownst to Byakko this job was part of an evil scheme; orchestrated by a mastermind, that was none other than his original mercenary ‘family’ ; the twins that took him in and forced him to work. They were out for revenge. How dare he leave them when they were so ‘kind’ for taking him in. To make up for the money they lost, they decided to start kidnapping metas for a living.
They then got Byakko to take a job investigating the kidnappings, without him knowing it was them who made the job request. They had planned to capture him and give him to Haven to be tested on for research purposes. This would ensure they got their revenge AND money from Haven as thanks.
But what the twins hadn’t planned on, was that the job would go bad and Byakko would almost die. But as luck would have it, the vampire mercenary turned the nekomata to save his life. It was out of the kindness of his heart. He thought that’s what Byakko would want. But Byakko was not thankful. He thought his time was up. Now he was alive again, with the need to drink blood often. Not only that, but his old ‘family’ , and now Haven too were both after him.
But eventually Byakko would get over the fact that he was now a vampire. He learned to live this way with relative ease actually. He was still a mercenary, and on the run from the twins and Haven. But he had gained knowledge that the vampire that saved him was part of a certain covenant. So he joins them and almost immediately meets Zero. He befriends him, and decides to adopt him; gaining a new outlook on life, and the new will to live.

Friends and Enemies
A certain duo known simply as ___ - The twins. A pair of mercenaries that took Byakko in, forcing him to work and give them the money he made. Definitely the enemy! It's possible they are now working for Cri and Cry.
Haven- found out about Byakko through the twins. Willing to pay money to them for bringing Byakko in. Also the enemy.
Zero-a vampire meta child with amnesia. A nice kid that Byakko took in, feeling they were alike in some ways. Byakko doesn't know of Zero's past, but he can sense somehow that the child had a hard life, even though they can't remember it.
Dag-a meta that appeared in Byakko's life by chance. And now he sorta has a crush on him. What else could these little pesky butterflies in his stomach be?

Halloween Event 2021 Alice in Grimmworld Tea Party (FINISHED) Setting: Byakko gets a strange text from Zero about a tea party. After hearing about last year's halloween at sanctuary from Dag, Byakko gets worried and decides to ask his friend what to do. After visiting Dag next door and telling him about the situation, they both agree that they should go check it out. They teleport to Sanctuary and start tracking Zero's phone. But in the forest he loses the signal. But then they spot Guin and her friend Ivan. Since Ivan had decided not to go to the party he gave Byakko his invitation. Now Byakko and Dag are on their way towards the manor. But things get wild when the surrounding area begins to warp and strange mirrors appear, decorating the trees. ~~~
Of Goddesses and Vampires Setting: Byakko joined the Renegades with Dag. He is chilling in his apartment when he gets a call from a phone number he doesn't recognize. It's Mara!? She's their leader. Journal entry 1-By candlelight, I find myself scribbling down these words. I wonder if someday I’ll look back on this diary. Will it be full of happy memories or sad ones? My life has been difficult. But this is my way of life now and I don’t see it changing anytime soon. I had wished it would all end. But when I was given that potion by the vampire… I realized it was only the beginning. Since then it’s been hell. Needing to drink blood and avoid sunlight as much as I can has been a chore. I had hoped I would die on that last mission. And yet…here I am. And the vampire who ‘saved’ me. He’s taken off and gone who knows where. Leaving me to deal with these new changes on my own. All he left was a scrap of paper with an address. Do I go there? What awaits me at this place? And then there’s those two to deal with. The ones that set this whole thing up. I vow to get my revenge. They used me when I was little. And to this day have not let me see an easy day in my life. They will pay for this.
The last words are hurriedly scribbled. And there isn’t another entry for some time.

Journal entry 2- It’s been awhile since I’ve written. I’ve been busy lately. I followed my way to the address I last mentioned. Eventually I would find myself in the care of our Lady Rachel and her covenant. I’ve grown accustomed to being a vampire now. It’s not quite as bad as I’d once thought. And I met a boy. Another vampire who was taken in by Rachel. He has no memories, other than his name. I’ve tried spending time with him. Just to pass the time here. And I’ve never had a friend before. This may very well be the start of an entirely new experience. We chatted about all sorts of things. He seems entirely innocent. I almost feel the need to protect him. I don’t want him to turn out like me after all.
Each day I find myself growing more attached. And today I ‘ve decided to make him my little brother. It was a mutual decision. In fact Zero, he seemed delighted at the idea of having an older brother. I can only hope I set a good example for him. And also…that he doesn’t find out about my ….other jobs. What would he think of me if he were to discover I’m a mercenary? The things I’ve done…can only be described as unspeakable. I have to hide this diary as well.

Journal entry 3-I was sent out on a mission. One to investigate the disappearance of an individual. But also the appearance of…dragons? Or so it would seem. A whole new race appeared on Treterra. It was pretty unbelievable. I kind of scoffed at first. But to my surprise, sure enough, dragons exist. They live in a floating city. We arrived by teleporter. But our exit was cut off and a whole mess ensued in our attempts to rescue that certain missing individual whose name I will not disclose as they were part of my original mission. I was also torn for the first time about interrogating someone. How did I let myself start to have feelings? Since when did I care about what others thought?
Enough of that though. I ended up getting side tracked anyway when Maela ran off. I decided to follow her. And Dag followed me in turn. It turns out Maela was trying to help her friend get off the floating island. In search of freedom for all, Dag and I helped them to escape. Most importantly, after this trip, I think I’ve actually made a second friend in Dag. I hope we get to work together later on. He acts with his gut more than his head sometimes, but I think that’s what I like about him. Interestingly enough he had a floating fish he could summon named Kappa. I’ve never seen such a thing in my life. It was pretty fascinating.

Journal entry 4-I bumped into Dag again recently. He was looking to join up with the Renegades. Since I had last met him I had been questioning myself and what my true goals are. Before I wanted to simply go about my job and earn money to take care of Zero and myself. But I knew Zero was catching on to me. If he finds this diary I’m done for. But I think he knows…what I’m really like. And that scares me. For the first time, I am afraid. But I’ve tried to brush that off and focus on other things. I want to start fresh and be a good person that Zero can speak well of. And so I’ve gone with Dag. To be with my friend once more, and to try my hand at a new and legit job. Maybe it’s not too late to turn things around. And as an added bonus, my apartment is right across from Dag’s. Truth be told, I’m rather fond of him. And for whatever reason…when I look at him… I feel…
The pen trails off. There are no more words. One can only guess what the author was trying to convey.

Journal entry 5-I got a weird text from Zero. I had left him at Sanctuary when I started my new job. What is this, something about a tea party? I know it’s Halloween, but Zero is too young for parties. What if it’s dangerous? I recall what Dag told me about last Halloween. I shudder to think what sort of nightmarish things will occur in my absence. I should go investigate. I’ll take Dag with me just to be safe. … .. … I’m back. And exhausted. Never again will I allow Zero to spend Halloween alone. It turns out he was fine the entire time. But Dag and I had been pulled into an illusion that felt so real. And of all things I had been turned into a MOUSE! A fine cat such as myself reduced to that of a rodent. It was disgusting. I had lost my ability to fly and my height. Not to mention I was incredibly drowsy. Are all mice like that? Thankfully everyone is back where they belong, and safe. Although later I got another text from Zero saying he’d met our ‘bigger brother’ whatever that means. He had sent me a photo later in the week. All I can really see is that Zero was aiming the camera secretly as the person in the photo was walking away. But they quite clearly have wings and a striped tail like my own. Zero claims the man said it was a Halloween costume. So why do I have this unsettling feeling? I’ll have to look into it later. But right now I just really need a nap.
