For the first time, Safiwah had wandered on her own. It was something she had always wanted to do, something she supposed she received from her father. She didn't know much about that side of her family. Just that they were farther out in the desert, so far out one would get lost trying to find it. And that her father enjoyed wandering himself. Sometimes she fancied she'd seen him while she was on the outskirts of the herd, just a brown shape in the distance, sometimes clothed in white. Maybe one day she would go out that way, just to see them up close. Would they accept her? Probably not. That was fine. She didn't need the acceptance of anyone, really. She was happy with herself.

But before any attempts at her Arabian heritage, she wanted to see beyond the desert. The green grass, the flowers, the acres and acres of growth. The ocean. The ocean was strangest of all. Even the rivers and lakes looked so alien to her. And wonderful. The cold water flowing over her legs was delightful. There was water in the desert, but not like this. Out here, there seemed to be a never ending supply of it. The first time she'd felt the rain as it was out here, she'd basked in it for what felt like a hour. Everything out here felt so different and new.

Safi hopped a fallen log, her long tail dragging on the ground when she landed. Her spirit clung to her back, as it usually did, giving her the impression of having wings. Her silent companion. She felt blessed by the Gods to have a familiar with her with a shape. It had been with her since she was a foal. Her birth herd had Anubis as their main diety, but she had always preferred Wadjet. She would often evoke her when she did her spiritual rituals. Nefertari would not like that. She was very insistent on worshiping Anubis and only Anubis. If attention to the other Gods was given, it was in smaller douses. None of them had the size or amount of shrines the God of the Dead had. Which made perfect sense to Safi, when you are an undead yourself.
