It wasn't necessarily one of her usual haunts, in fact when it came to gut instinct this was probably one of those areas that she shouldn't have been near if she wanted to remain intact. Nevertheless she'd heard rumours of an intriguing little food stand that certain individuals on her comments page had raged about. Sure, they'd admitted that it wasn't the best part of town, but since she was all about those hidden gems then they highly recommended it.
It was with this in mind that the Mauvian had set off that evening, bidding farewell to Regula as he prepared for his own work as well. He'd been a little 'off' lately, if only because his hand had taken more than just a beating and was taking a considerable amount of time to heal, but at least he still cared and had at least acknowledged that she had gone out. Admittedly she hadn't told him where she was going or he may have had a few choice words about it!
Nevertheless if things did go south then at the very least she could call him, right?
The Mauvian was at least inconspicuous as a feline and no one really batted an eye as she puttered through the alleyways and made her way towards the little 'food stand'. It was a bit of a surprise to see that it wasn't actually a food stand so much as a thriving little restaurant that had managed to squirrel itself away in the deepest regions of the undesirable.
Sure the people in there didn't necessarily seem to be pleasant, if she judged them solely on appearance she'd find them quite intimidating, but they all seemed to be in good spirits and food was food, right?
This was the perfect opportunity for the Mauvian to test out the new trinket she had made, it had taken some fiddling and she'd had to review the blueprints more than once; but she's constructed it and until now she hadn't actually had a reason to use it. Walking in to a store as a cat wasn't going to do anyone any favours, so she picked herself a quiet corner and with the slightest of 'pings' the little pen activated and the Mauvian now found herself in a perfectly acceptable human form.
...With no ears or tail to her name the woman looked reasonably normal, if anyone were to query the clothes she'd simply indicate she was part of a troupe. For now though? Well, she waltzed comfortably into the restaurant and picked up one of the menus to review, it was only when she had found the recommended dishes that she trundled up to the counter and placed her order.
Once paid? Well, she took a seat and waited for her number to be called. She knew better than to stick around and takeout was the most appropriate option in this case, but at the very least she would savour the moment when she could simply admire the hustle and bustle from a more useful vantage point - it was both a new and enjoyable experience.

Amadeus didn't usually make a habit of ordering takeout. Pretty much anything that came out of a restaurant was greasier than it needed to be, and Ama could really feel it in every fiber of his being, afterwards. It felt like a sticky forehead and an oversaturated gut, and a sort of unpleasant thickness on the back of his tongue. It may taste and feel fine while he was eating it, but at what cost?
It was usually better to just stay at home and prepare his own meals.
But that could be time consuming and exhausting in its own way. No one really wanted to go home and slave around in the kitchen after working all day. So, on occasion, he found that it was just easier to make a selection from a local establishment and enjoy whatever cuisine was available. It wasn't his favorite activity in terms of flavor or expense, but sometimes he was lazy. It couldn't be helped.
He'd selected a place within walking distance of his home and business to ensure he wouldn't have to go to any trouble. He'd ordered ahead, picking out a meal of baked salmon with a lemon butter dipping sauce and a side salad before dawning his most inconspicuous wear (a fitted, dark track suit, thin enough to be comfortable for the warm evening air, while leaving little exposed, though the way the fabric clung to his skin didn't exactly leave much to the imagination) and heading out.
The walk to the restaurant was uneventful enough, perhaps even a little dull, if Amadeus was being honest. Probably not even worth his time to save the few dollars delivery would've cost... But it was fine. He was already here now, and the place looked busy enough that he was sure it would've taken longer for them to send someone his way.
Even with the entire walk between his home and here, his meal still wasn't ready when he arrived, so Amadeus stepped to the side with a sigh, folded his arms over his chest and set to waiting while people filed through the line nearby.
Despite how busy it was, he was hopeful things would move quickly.

She wasn't sure what the hold up was, but whatever it was was causing some considerable anxiety. On the one hand she very much wanted to try the food, on the other the glamour she wore had a very limited duration and it was very quickly approaching the time where a woman would be replaced by a cat. Given she was in a very public place that was likely to turn more than just a few heads it was safe to say that she would have very much preferred not to have that happen.
...But at what stage was it no longer rude to raise your hand and request an update on your order?
In different circumstances she might have kicked up a bit of stink, but in her current one her options were finite. Certainly not ideal but with her time running short there wasn't much more she could do other than to clear her throat and attempt to weave back towards the front of the queue. It was an action that didn't prove popular, particularly for those who weren't aware she had been waiting for some time and very much looked like she was trying to skip the queue...
"Excuse me!" she called with a wave of her hand.
Unaware of the less savory glances she was now subject to.
