Brownie raced this way and that as he made ready all the plans to open his very own new bakery. "So much to do." he said to himself a little worried but the worry was soon replaced with a smile and joy at having to get HIS bakery ready. The noulicorn council had approved his bakery only a short time ago and he knew how important it was to get it all ready as soon as possible. Sure it was easy to put an idea to paper but to make it come to life was a totally different story.
Brownie had scouted out many location for his bakery but was truly disappointed after three hole days and finding nothing to his liking. "Ugh sweet tarts. Is it to much to ask for a place by a cold stream in the Homewoods but close enough to the barrens that I can use the heat to cook with." He called out into the Homewoods as if the trees would answer him. Sure maybe he was being a little picky but it...it just had to be perfect. With a "Uff" he flopped down on the pine needle grounds feeling a little discouraged.
Without warning a gust of soft wind blow past him fluffing his fur and then into the bushes. "Well what do you suppose that could be." he wondered after the gust. Not sure at all what that was about he followed after the gust and through the bushes into the most amazing and perfect place he had ever seen. Hope and wonder filled his heart as he looked around. "This is it." He gasped with wonder and joy.
From where he stood ,on a small raised piece of earth covered in soft blades of grass, he could see a small peacefully moving blue stream. Two very large homey trees framed the grass meadow making for a wonderful store front setting. Through the forest, no more then a half mile away, shown the bright hot sun of the Barrens. He could easily make trips back and forth. It was all so perfect.
With the place finally found, Brownie had spent the last two days finding displays for his baked goods and making bags, boxes, and menus and order forms and so many other things he had honestly started to lose track of all he had done in only two days. But he did not mind soon his bakery would be open and he would get to spread the tummy yummies to all.
With everything else in order he began to work on the things he loved most of all. Baking! The smell of berries and fresh doe filled the air, bring a smile to Brownie's muzzle. He was only doing prep work but tomorrow he would open shop. He hoped his business would do well. He was really putting his heart and soul into this place and all his baked goods. And after all most of the nouls that had tried his treats had loved them. He just needed to trust his abilities.
The hours pasted by in a blur but Brownie did not really even notice. He was hard at work kneading, stuffing, frosting, and everything else. As the sun began to set, Brownie looked around his bakery. While there was still lots of work to get done some of it would just have to wait. Tomorrow he would have his grand opening and there was still so much to be done. "You can't work in the dark." His muse yawned and he knew it was true. Plus he would need all the rest he could get before opening up. Nesting down in a hollowed out space of one of the large trees he took a small nape before the sun would come up so he could start baking again.
