User ImageThe morning air was cool. a gust of wind stirred Winter Lilly's mane and she could smell that fall was coming. It was clearly still summer but she could smell the leaves and moss calling to the cooler weather. And with fall came winter. Excitement began to bubble up inside of Winter Lilly as she moved through the Homewoods. She was making her way to the cool river waters in the center of the Homewood, she really needed to cool down. The Grandfather Tree just did not make her for hot weather.

A sign left her muzzle as she got closer to the river and could hear the rusting water promising to chill her to the born. This river was her only chance for relief from the sun. She knew the Homewoods for others was not that hot but to her it felt like the Barrens, which was one reason why she had not answered the call of the Grandfather Tree.

Coming to the waters edge she looked around for any others but saw no one. Jumping in she splashed around letting her normally very controlled self go completely. The only time she felt truly herself was in the cool. It might have to do with being born on the coldest day of winter but she truly could not hide herself in the cold. Settling down she moved to the deepest part of the moving waters, she knew that would be the coldest part of the river. the water washed over back taking all the heat and stress of her life away with it. she really hated to leave the cold water but she still had to eat for the morning and she did not want to be moving to much once the day got to its hottest.

Leaving the water she shook her body to remove some of it. The coolness was both refreshing and calming. Lilly longingly wished for winter to come soon. This summer stuff just was not her cup of tea. "Aww tea." she whined at the thought of a hot drink on a winters day while watching the snow falling form her den door. It was one of the best past times in the winter.

*Grumble* *Grr*
Winter Lilly's tummy groaned in protest to for breakfast. Looking around she noticed that clearly breakfast would now be lunch. She had been so into her winter day dream that she completely missed the first meal of the day. With a sad sigh she began to move away form the cold water in search of food.
